My girlfriend could not figure out what she wanted for her birthday and I thought that I would try to find a concert that she would enjoy. Evidentally, OURS was not in town so I tried to find the next best thing, one of her favorites, Dommin. What she did not know is that 69 Eyes were headlining, ha. 69 Eyes have become one of my favorite bands and I came to know them back in 2002. I knew this would be an excellent show but did not know what to expect out of The Becoming. We arrived at the show in Recher Theatre, Townson around 8pm to find The Becoming just beginning their set. When we walked in the applause sounded as if the headliner was already on. They were a power house and the lead singer was bouncing all over the stage making it an exilerating experience. The band played a bunch of tunes that were brand new to me in which turned me to their merch counter for their CD (which is great). Dommin soon followed and they blew us away. My girlfriend literally lost her mind and sang ever song as if it was posted on paper in front of her. Dommin was excellent as they were the first time that we saw them around the spring 2009 with Birthday Massacre. I would say that this line up fit them the best. With the likeness of Danzig, they totally rocked the theatre. They are a new upcoming band but seem as if they have been doing this their whole lives. The 69 Eyes were up next and Jyrki 69 came out and said "We are the Helsinki Vampires" and the crowd knew that it was on. They played many tracks from their newest album, "Back in Blood" and many classics from "Paris Kills" and "Devils". My girlfriend knew the track "Perfect Skin" from their "Angels" album and she sang it from beginning to end! They played an awesome show and walked off stage after an hour set. After the set the fans screamed and they reappeared back on stage to play a few more tracks. The show was excellent and was one of the best I have been able to see in a long time. I will definitely go back to a show with any of these bands on the ticket!
