    The Hockey Game

by Lbarba on 10/1/09Cedar Park Center - Cedar Park

The hockey game was great. Enjoyed the game. The seats at the Event Center are very uncomfortable and are design for children not adults. I heard complaints about the seats from tall and big people like myself. This indicates that the event center was designed to maximize profit instead of the comfort of th fans. I'm a Cedar Park resident and I'm disappointed with the seats.

    Great game

by daikini on 10/1/09Cedar Park Center - Cedar Park

this was the smallest rink I have ever seen hockey played in which was great cause there really are no bad seats in this place. The game was great. The place was clean and all the employees were knowledgeable and professional. my only complaint was that no one directed traffic to get out so it took almost 45 min to get out of the place .

    Battle of the Stars

by seanjohntx on 10/1/09Cedar Park Center - Cedar Park

I have a few things that could be improved at an other wise great event. First, it took to long to get into the parking lot. We left our house that is normally 5 minutes from the center 30 minutes before the game and just barely made it in before the first puck drop. Next, the people were the concession stands had no idea what they were doing. Took way too long to get food and drinks. It took from about halfway through the first intermission to eight minutes left in the second period causing us to miss a considerable amount of the game. Problem wouldn't have been as bad if the standalone beer stands took credit card. I'm not a big person, tall or wide, but i found the seats to really lacking in leg room, not much you can do about that now. Finally, the public address announcer did not announce penalties, which made the game a little harder to follow sometimes.

    Can't Wait For This Season

by FayeBee on 9/30/09Cedar Park Center - Cedar Park

gostarsgo said:"....They didn't even shake hands with their opponents at the end of the game (not a good lesson in sportsmanship for our little ones), nor did they make a round of the rink at the end so the fans could applaud their performance..." **************** The reason they didn't do that is that it only happens during the playoffs and not during the season.

    So much fun!

by TXStarsFan on 9/29/09Cedar Park Center - Cedar Park

The game was a blast! I'm excited that the Austin area now has a hockey team to support, in addition to some other great minor-league sports teams in the area. We will definitely return for another game!

    Beware of Parking Fees!

by gostarsgo on 9/28/09Cedar Park Center - Cedar Park

The game was a blast - we had a lot of fun. HOWEVER, be warned that parking at this little stadium costs $10!!! Since there is no alternative way to arrive at the arena, that seems quite ridiculous....you don't have a choice but to drive there and park your car in their lot. Also, the Stars lack a little something in terms of fan appreciation. They didn't even shake hands with their opponents at the end of the game (not a good lesson in sportsmanship for our little ones), nor did they make a round of the rink at the end so the fans could applaud their performance. Maybe the team is too young for these niceties, but the fans would sure appreciate these gestures.

Love having hockey back in the Austin Area

by AustinStarsFan on 9/28/09Cedar Park Center - Cedar Park

Venue is fantastic for viewing hockey. Not a bad seat in the house. There are a few issues: 1. $10 is ridiculous for parking at the arena. 2. Food and beverage prices I expect to be overpriced but once again Cedar Park is kidding themselves with their prices. Perhaps they should have gone to a few Round Rock Express games to find out how to do it right. 3. This should be fixed over time as the arena is new but the staff is pretty clueless. 4. The curtains in the tunnels are not needed and just get in the way when entering or leaving. 5. NO LEG ROOM. Get an aisle seat if you're over 5'1". 6. No shots on goal on the scoreboard? You did know you were going to be playing hockey here, right?

    Hockey is back!!

by johnh2o on 9/28/09Cedar Park Center - Cedar Park

The first game was good, but the Texas players were a collection of prospects sent down from the Stars training camp and not a well organized team. I am confident that when the season starts that the lineups will be solidified and we will have a great team. The arena is amazing and there is no bad seat in the place at all. The seats are very tight and if you are tall there will be problems of where to put your knees. On the up side, the seats are padded and comfortable. Just a note to fairweather hockey fans, bring a coat, as the cedar park center's a/c works very well.

    Excellent venue for hockey

by topcat644 on 9/28/09Cedar Park Center - Cedar Park

The team needs a lot of practice in puck handling, but the event staff went above and beyond to ensure a good time was had by all. We tried out numerous seats, and from a viewing perspective, there are no bad seats. If you are extra large, as I am, don't try any seat except the loge and glass seats. The cup holders made the seats too narrow, and the arm rests don't move. Also, it should be noted that both stadium levels serve drinks, but there is no food available on the upper level.
