The Players, Play, and Weather were Awesome
by wcr1 on 4/3/18Golf Club of Houston - HumbleRating: 5 out of 5This was a great year for Golf in Houston at The Houston Open. All the conditions were perfect and the fairways and greens were pristine. It wasn't clear at first that there would be sufficient sponsors or top players after Shell quit sponsoring the tournament. But great players finally signed up to play in the last several weeks and the player's purse got up to seven million. I chose to go to the last two days and bought tickets to the Greenskeeper on the seventeenth green. It was awesome covered setting with food and beverages provided. The spectators each year at major Golf tournaments seem a little less respective that in the past. They are not as quiet and as respective to the players as in past years; I guess it is the newer generation? Anyway, the greenskeeper was nice as it was last year and even though the beverage flowed and it wasn't always quiet, everyone seemed respectful and had a good time. However, I took my son Saturday and he accidentally left his clear bag with sunscreen and a green Northface shell jacket. Rather than turn in the left item, some thief is now enjoying my son's jacket. That disappoints me, especially at a major Golf Tournament, The Houston Open at an upscale seating area The Greenskeeper. However, all-in-all the Tournament was Awesome and I will definitely do the Greenkeeper again next year.
