About

TESSERACT IN CONCERT:

British prog-metal titans Tesseract are pioneers of the djent metal technique characterized by distorted, palm-muted guitar chords, joining bands like Meshuggah and Textures as torchbearers of the niche style. With their syncopated riffs, epic solos, and distinctive djent playing, the band put on one heck of an epic live show, slaying fans around the globe with the bludgeoning force of thunderous tracks like "Nascent" and "Nocturne." Back on the road for their latest tour, fans of face-melting metal can expect total satisfaction as the band shred their way through their catalog.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Started by Acle Kahney in 2003, Tesseract emerged from the burgeoning djent metal scene pioneered by Kahney and other guitarists like Periphy's Misha Mansoor and Monuments' John Browne. After years of establishing the style and building a band around the project, Kahney and Tesseract released the Concealing Fate EP in 2010 before embarking on a headlining tour in support of the release. The EP formed the basis of their 2011 debut One, which made considerable waves among the metal community and earned them the Progressive Music Award for New Blood. Sophomore album Altered States would follow in 2013, earning the band another round of praise and paving the way for continued touring.

Astronoid / Plini / TesseracT in Philly

by aTOMicto on 4/23/18Theatre of Living Arts - Philadelphia

I’ve lived in the Philadelphia area most of my life and I absolutely LOVE seeing shows at the TLA. Plini was why I went to this show but I familiarized my self with TesseracT in the weeks preceding and I am now a big fan. Plini and his band were as I knew they would be... incredible! TesseracT are now a big favorite of mine. Stellar musicianship, cool and interesting songs. I hope it’s not too long before they return to the area.

One of the best concerts I have been to. The venue looks a bit old but then it is also more intimate with the artists.

    Epic First Metal Show

by Hdajsgdbwb on 4/22/18Paradise Rock Club - Boston

This was my first metal concert ever and all three bands were great. Super well rehearsed, and incredibly talented. Fun little venue with great sound as well. 10/10 would recommend.

    Tesseract

by Lavender91 on 4/22/18Paradise Rock Club - Boston

It was my first time ever hearing this band and seeing them in concert and I was blown away by their artistry and sound! I’m more of a 50’s through 80s listener but I’d definitely recommend that others go see them.

    Tesseract, The Contortionist killed it!

by JayStaples on 11/6/15Paradise Rock Club - Boston

The show was incredible, so much energy and raw power from some very talented musicians. I can't wait to see them again. The opening acts Skyharbor and Erra were awesome.

    Incredible show

by kregh99 on 11/5/15Theatre of Living Arts - Philadelphia

All four bands: Skyharbor, ERRA, the Contortionist, and Tesseract... put on an amazing show at the TLA. Every band was well worth the price of admisison. I'm a huge fan of 3 of the 4 bands and having them all on the bill was phenomenal. If this same gig were to happen again, I'd be there in a heartbeat.

    CLOUDKICKER WAS AMAZING!!!!

by TorpedoJones91 on 5/2/14Brighton Music Hall - Boston

Cloudkicker was amazing and by far the best act of the night (closely followed by Intronaut)... However, I was really disappointed in Tesseract. I had been looking forward to watching them play, but as soon as I saw that they had backing tracks going through the PA I was instantly turned off because that's beyond lame. So my group and I left a couple songs into their set.

    Kicked Clouds

by DeteKt on 5/1/14Brighton Music Hall - Boston

Ben Sharp's Cloudkicker was there. TesseracT's vocalist was not. I couldn't have imagined it going any better way. A+

Tesseract put on an incredible show! Slightly disappointed the singer was sick and could not perform but even as a 3 piece they were amazing. Also loved the openers, mostly Cloudkicker

They nailed it even without the vocalist!! Totally tight and the drummer was the best.
