Tenors of Rock on Tour
Few of us could even dream of playing the guitar like Angus Young or playing drums like John Bonham, but we all feel no shame in belting out our favorite song when it comes on the car stereo. That's the basic premise behind the Tenors of Rock — they reimagine the rock ‘n' roll concert less as a display of instrumental wizardry than a communal singing event. The five-man UK crew effectively blur the line between rock band and boy band, performing classic anthems by Queen, Guns N' Roses and Bon Jovi as a united harmonic front, like a barbershop troupe decked out in ripped jeans, covered in tattoos and flashing the devil's sign. (Or, in the case of the group's biggest and most animated member — Jimmy Denning — it's a mohawk, leather jacket and kilt.) But as a Vegas institution since 2017, the Tenors of Rock are no stranger to spectacle — at their shows, you can expect dazzling video backdrops, flashing lights, choreographed moves, copious amounts of dry ice and, of course, a room full of people singing along like nobody's listening.
Tenors of Rock Background
When they formed in 2010, the Tenors of Rock didn't boast the most rock ‘n' roll résumés: vocalists David "Dai" Richards, Jimmy Denning, Jonathan Williams, Tommy Sherlock and Dan Schumann were all veterans of Broadway and London's West End. But anyone who's ever heard a Queen record knows that the distinction between rock showmanship and musical theater has always been a little hazy, and when the Tenors of Rock appeared on UK singing-competition show X Factor in 2013 to put a vocal-troupe spin on fist-pumping classics like Bon Jovi's "Living on a Prayer," they became instant sensations. After performing concerts all over the world, the group settled in Las Vegas in 2017, holding down a two-year residency at Harrah's before moving over to Planet Hollywood.
Great show, high energy ! Made you relive the music
Enjoyable show for rock music lovers. Great group of guys. Personable. Overall good but not great show. Some harmonies need more polish.
This show had it all, Great music, voices, humor, musicians, women, dancing.etc... I would (and have) recommend the Tenors to all.
Much talent in this group of guys!!! Very entertaining
Entertaining high energy show. Cover versions different from originals, and in a good way. Dancers add an element of show and glitz to the performance. Go see it.
The guys in the group are very good and I liked almost all of their music selections. They definitely seem to have a genuine camaraderie and seem to really enjoy what they are doing. I really didn't care for the three women they had dancing. They were essentially dancing like strippers with at least some clothes on but their dancing was not choreographed to match the music. I really could have done without them sticking their butts and crotches at the audience. The theater seats were odd - the arms came up pretty high but there are options to buy seats at booths and tables which could be better. Luckily the aisle seat next to me was empty so I moved and it was better. Terrific graphics played on the backdrop. Really clever. Overall, I would recommend.
Very entertaining. But way too much bass. The overpowering thumping too often drowned out the singing.
The Tenors of Rock playing at Harrah's were great. Very talented singers and musicians. We enjoyed the show very much.
Not good. Their volume was so high it hurt. The vibration of sound could not only be felt in your chest but even my pants legs were moving. Since I always was keeping at least one ear covered with a finger I also realized that the 5 singers were often not in tune with each other. This was not at all what we expected. We expected to hear some nice harmonies but that wasn't the case. This was just an overblown rock concert. And what was with the 3 cheesy mostly naked dancers? That wasn't necessary at all. It was actually rather sad and embarrassing. Very tacky. We have lived down here for 3 years now and have been to a lot of shows. This was our first bad one. The theater was empty the ushers moved us forward to the 5th row.
So much energy… So much talent… So many amazing songs! The tenors all have such beautiful voices and great moves and their dancers are beautiful and graceful and added a certain Las Vegas flair to the show! My only recommendation would be that they have a live piano player to go with the rest of the band. The lead guitarist is from "Rock of Ages", and he is spectacular! I definitely will go again and this will most likely be the show I take friends to when they come to visit me here in Las Vegas! Tenors, I speak for our whole group when I say thank you for making your home here in our beautiful valley!
Not only was the music even better than the originals, but all the men had a great stage presence and easily had the audience laughing or rocking. Would recommend this show to EVERYONE! Also, after the show, the band comes out and meets and takes pics with every fan who wants too. Who else would do that!?
I went to see Tenors of Rock and was disappointed. They do have great voices, however the sound is blaring causing the loss of all musicality. There are only 2 numbers that showed off the intricacy of their harmonies. Otherwise the whole show is shouting and painfully loud amplification that mushes everything together as a loud mess. If you like super loud bass shattering rock concerts, you'll like this show. If you are looking for a more musically pleasing sound, skip it.
Great talent entertaining and definitely a must do
Great show with tons of talent! We all thought The Tenorsnof Rock were awesome!
Great group of singers. They cover 80's rock songs including Queen, AC/DC, Bon Jovi. So much fun singing along and they are high energy and very entertaining yet down to earth. The venue is small and the singers move around and perform in the walkways, so the audience is always close to the performers. The only part I would change is the dancers and their role in the show. It was a bit awkward and didn't seem to fit the overall charm of the performance.
If you enjoy Rock music, and like to hear a large variety of songs from some gifted singers, then this show is for you. Enjoyed every minute of it!
Well produced and fun show/concert. If you like having an intimate, fun time while rock'n, you'll love this show. The Tenors of Rock are 5 talented, cool guys humbly living out their rock n roll concert dreams and sharing it with us. They pay homage to the great rock artists of our youth. Its a cool twist to my old favorites. My wife and I had a great time. The seats are all close to the stage and the Tenors also take their performance out into the crowd. Its a cool up close rock concert experience.
The music was amazing, I sang along to every song! I highly recommend this show! The guys are funny, and you can tell they are having so much fun performing. They are a great group to see!
excellent!!....high energy, great vocals.....I especially loved "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "Music Of The Night"...sing-along, clap along music....
Too loud, very crude and not at all what I expected. I have been to many Las Vegas shows and I would say this was the worst.
