Featuring two of the funniest comedy minds in America, the hard-rocking, hilarious duo of Jack Black and Kyle Gass -- better known as Tenacious D -- have delivered thousands of side-splitting laughs through their profanely hysterical songs ever since their inception in 1994. The duo describe themselves (with tongue firmly in cheek) as "The Greatest Band in the World." From venues like Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion to Radio City Music Hall, Tenacious D tour-goers lucky enough to see them in concert will get every single cent's worth of their ticket price through all the big laughs in their rollicking and foul fake arena-rock songs. Expect plenty of crowd-participation singalongs in the middle of big, crunchy electric guitar riffs that make up insanely catchy songs.
Tenacious D is currently riding high on the wave of commercial and critical acclaim for their latest album, 2012's "Rise of the Fenix." This comedy-rock masterpiece features hilarious songs, like the title track "Rise of the Fenix," "Low Hanging Fruit," "To Be the Best" and "They F----- Our A----." It was the latest success in a long and varied career for the band, which first gained popularity through their appearances on the David Cross/Bob Odenkirk sketch show, "Mr. Show With Bob and David," in the early 1990s. Their first album, "Tenacious D," featured drum work from the great Dave Grohl and two memorable singles in "Tribute" and "Wonderboy." In between Jack Black's prolific movie career, the band found the time to make their own movie -- "Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny" -- and released an accompanying soundtrack to the film in 2006. The self-proclaimed "greatest band in the world" might be inconsistent as far as their album-releasing and touring schedule goes, owing to the A-list movie star status of one of its members, but fans can rest assured that when they come around, they'll deliver some of the funniest, rocking-est tunes to ever be penned.

I previously saw a show at the Fox and the sounds was the worst I've ever experienced. The vocals of the band were indecipherable from the general admission area. Even when the music was stopped and the artists were just talking, you couldn't make out what they were saying. Somehow, this was allowed to continue for the band's entire set. I have heard similar complaints from friends that went to other shows there too. The Tenacious D show itself was alright and the sound was decent. The Tenacious D act seems pretty played out though and really only amounted to a few laughs. A lot of people seemed really into it though so good for them. My primary complaint about this show is regarding the seats in the balcony. I have never experienced such little leg room in my life. I am 6'1" tall and my legs were crammed against the seat back in front of me. As I looked down the isle, I could see the same problem for everyone that was of average height and above. I would not pay to sit in those seats again. I want to love the Fox Theater. It is beautiful and they are bringing in a ton of great shows, but I have experienced some serious shortcomings thus far.
Part rock music, part rock star performance... thoroughly enjoyable.... powerful music, good interaction with the crowd.... if I could make any complaint it was that it was a shortish show, but who cares if it rocks....
Really fun times seeing The D on stage, their antics and stage props were a blast. Tow very naughty boys.
Tenacious D killed it. They rock. I highly recommend this show. They might be the best and greatest band in the world - tribute.
Just great. Interesting: the giant phenix on the stage... :)
Best concert I've ever been to. It blew my mind and my jimmies were fully stimulated.
I have been following Tenacious D since the late 90's. Bottom Line, these guys are hysterical. Their music is excellent and their skills as musicians are excellent. The comedy is subtle but genius. I highly recommend all of their work for its entertainment value. In my opinion, their best work are the early HBO episodes. That can be found on their DVD "The Complete Masterworks".
JACK AND KYLE MUST COME TO PHILLYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Jack Black and Kyle Gass are not just actors believe you me! They were meant to be on stage. They rock out like no other and their comical talent fits just right in their songs. They love metal! "No one will destroy the metal" You can count on that as long as they stick around. They are so very talented as well. Kyle is an amazing guitar player. LOVE THEM AND HAVE EVERYTHING THEY'VE DONE!
