What a wonderful evening! Ted Vigil and lovely Amy Davis, his backup singer/fiddler, played some beautiful music and stirred up the memories. Sunshine on My Shoulders sent Shivers Down My Spine! Keep doing what you're doing Ted. Keep the legend alive!
I had chills from the moment that Ted stepped on the stage. I was never able to see John in concert and felt that Ted could do him justice. Indeed, Ted has memorialized John and has helped to keep his spirit alive. I had tears from the moment he started "Rocky Mountain High" through to "Calypso"; and Ted's sweet rendition of "Poems, Prayers and Promises" just about had me sobbing. What I hadn't realized til this concert was how much John's words have influenced my life. I began listening when I was eleven or twelve, a young girl full of angst, usually upset at a parent, crowded in a tiny house with six people. The music, the words that John sang, I believe helped me become me. I love the mountains and the outdoors. I do my best to preserve our resources. And after many years I found "how sweet it is to love someone and how right it is to care". So, thank you Ted for bringing it all back home to me. You have a gift to be able to keep a great man's spirit alive.
John Denver reincarnated. His singer and fiddle player were amazing, too. Amanda Bacon, it's time for you to do a Whitney Houston tribute. Wish he'd done Annie's song and This Old Guitar. Maybe next time. I'm a groupie now!
This was my 7th time seeing Ted and I am still amazed and still get as excited as if I was seeing John again! He's just that good! This show I took 16 friends, who ALL felt the same way! He not only puts on a wonderful show, but always comes out for a meet and greet! Just an all around great guy too! I still cry when he sings Back Home Again and still get goose bumps when he does Calypso! AWESOME!
Ted came out to play for my mother's 60th birthday (she's a huge John Denver fan). Not only did she get to enjoy her favorite musician, she got to hear an incredible show. It's been a month, and she's literally still talking about it nonstop! Ted's voice and performance were way beyond what we had even hoped for. He gave a dynamic show and even got people who weren't with us to start dancing and singing. Everyone had an amazing time. Hands down, we would recommend his show to anyone. Can't wait to see him again! Thank you so much Ted!
What an amazing event! When Ted first takes the stage it's almost surreal. He is the spitting image of John Denver right down to the mannerisms! He breaks into song with all the most loved songs and invites sing alongs and audience participation! After the show he was available for a handshake and photo. He was kind and gracious. I highly recommend seeing one of his shows if you have the opportunity!
Every song, Ted's interaction with the crowd and the music was incredible! Would love to see him again! However, we hoped to see a longer show than we did. I do not think this was Ted's doing at all, but the show advertized a 3 hour concert (7-10pm). After about 10-15 songs he said good night, kindly thanked the crowd for their participation and sharing songs with him and concert was over. I really do think that this was enforced by the casino group in hoping that they could get a few patrons to play some games on their way out. We thought we were going to see a 3 hour show and were somewhat disappointed when the night was over after only an hour. We do hope to get a chance to see Ted again, perhaps at another venue and see this talented guitarist & singer perform a much longer show that he's capable of doing.
So. About the show. First, the singer is decent. Doesn't have the range of John Denver but few do. He was lively and energetic and I felt the audience responded to that overall. However, in total, I was disappointed in the show due to it's length. It's hard to say if that is the dictate of the artist or the venue (since it was in a Vegas casino). The show was either 65 or 70 minutes. Spending close to $30 (with fees) for an hour show is not worth it to me. I wouldn't repeat the experience.
The show was entertaining and Ted, his backup singer and band members were excellent. They get and keep the audience involved. I would definitely go to this show again!
Before I start I want to say that I am a huge John Denver fan and I also think, from past concerts, that Ted Vigil is quite a talent. However, the concert on March 12, 2016 at Green Valley Ranch was a disappointment. To begin, the sound was off. Was muffled throughout the show. My whole section agreed. Also, I have to believe that Ted Vigil had what we call here as "Vegas throat". Maybe he had a cold but his voice wasn't as strong as past concerts. This could be why there was so much audience participation. When I go to a concert, I am there to hear the performer, not my voice. I get so agitated when asked to sing along. Competing to see which side of the room sings louder does not set well with me. Another point I want to make is my printed e-ticket had me in an assigned row, section and seat number. When I got to the Events Center, it was every man for himself. That's not right. People would put clothing, drinks, purses and other items on seats to either side so they could have more space for themselves. Finally, for Ted Vigil to mispronounce the name of the casino ( called it Green River Ranch) is unexcusable. I gave the concert an average rating.. Would I see him again? YES!! I have seen Ted Vigil at his best and he is amazing. I still believe he sounded hoarse this night.
Music was great....But the large TV screens on either side should have been viewing some " "Rocky Mountain High".. Also...we thought we had reserved seats..Was told general seating once inside..Not good. We stayed at the bar when we would have entered 1 hour earlier.
The concert and performers were amazing! I really hope you bring them back again! What an awesome memorable night!!!
I have been to many tribute shows and I think that this one was the best. Ted gave a wonderful performance. He looked like John, sounded just like him, and he related well with the audience. The band and singer was also great. I was smiling and singing along all night long.
If you liked John Denver you will love this show. Ted Vigil looks like John Denver but better yet he sounds like him. He was personable with the audience and the audience was into the show. I would recommend this show to friends and family. I would of given the show a 5 star rating but my only complaint is the show only lasted about hour. Throw another 20-30 minutes in there and it would of been great and well worth 5 stars... Seats were to close together. You cannot tie folding chairs together. With no arm rests, you end up having some people extended into other seats and that makes it uncomfortable for both people. Rows were to close together making it difficult for people to get to their seats. Seating all on one level. Because of the seating I would not attend another show at this venue!
This show is a "MUST SEE" for all John Denver fans. Not only does he sound exactly like Denver, but he looks like him also. Several times I closed my eyes and couldn't believe that I wasn't hearing the real John Denver. Will constantly view his website to see when Ted Vigil will return to Las Vegas. Told my out-of-state brother about the Tribute Show and he is checking out the website to see when he'll be performing in his state. Hoping that his next Las Vegas concert will be closer than the M Resort, which was 35 miles from my house. It's a difficult casino to access and find your way around however the employees were extremely helpful and friendly. The food in the casino was surprisingly fantastic. By the way, while I'm rating the show, I did feel Ted Vigil could have performed at least 30 minutes longer than the 80 minute concert. It's not like he had to be somewhere soon (checked his concert schedule). He left out several top John Denver songs and that should never happen. Those around me felt the same way...that he enjoyed singing but wanted to get out of there. People who attend a John Denver concert can't get enough of him and the concert should have been a minimum of close to 2 hours.
Ted Vigil is John Denver reincarnated. I highly recommend this tribute. It is about an hour long and I would have liked for it to be a little longer...we only got one ovation song. Would have loved to hear" It's About Time" but Ted seems concerned about putting people to sleep with slower ballads. If you are a John Denver fan...this is worth both your time and money.
I went into this expecting something "close" to the sound of John Denver. I was extremely disappointed and the length of the show (75 min at most!) was also disappointing. Having Ted "imitate" John Denver was a complete miss. Throwing in his own "songs" at a tribute show, I felt, was inappropriate. Then as good as Amanda Bacon was, again a tribute show should address the songs by the artist that is being "honored".
If you enjoyed John Denver and his music back in the day, you will enjoy reminiscing while listening to Ted Vigil. Brought back lots of my youth and wonderful memories.
The music was great - the show was only one hour long - way too short.
This was my first Ted Vigil Show It was a wonderful concert! Ted has an amazing voice, stage presence and boundless energy which he shares with the audience! He has an uncanny resemblance to the great John Denver in his voice, looks, and mannerisms. He does justice to many of John's songs as well as highlighting some of his own works. Wonderful show Would highly recommend it and will be back for more!
