About

While the ’80s remain synonymous with Tears for Fears, the British duo’s rich catalog has never lost its shine, with everyone from Lorde to Gary Jules covering hits like "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" and "Mad World." Their quintuple-platinum breakthrough album, 1985’s Songs From the Big Chair, topped the Billboard 200 albums chart and includes iconic hits like "Shout” that continue to permeate pop culture. Since forming in 1981, the new wave pioneers have sold 30 million albums worldwide and performed for countless sold-out crowds. Their 2022 album, The Tipping Point, peaked at No. 8 on the Billboard 200 and sparked The Tipping Point World Tour and The Tipping Point Tour Part II.

So amazing to hear such iconic music

    by dkkent on 8/6/23

These guys were a huge part of my teenage years so this concert was absolutely fantastic to see. The sound quality was really, really good, both for Tears for Fears and the Cold War Kids who opened for them so kudos to the audio engineering team. Great show!

    Amazing experience

    by Gilbert Cerda on 8/6/23

I grew up with this amazing band during the 1980s. Shout, head over heels, everybody wants to rule the world etc, were staples during my childhood in Orange County. They still sound the same if not better. Had an amazing view of Tears for Fears and had an amazing time with my husband Tim.

    Old guys rule

    by Mimi on 8/6/23

I’ve attended a lot of concerts of bands from the 80s. Some were meh and some okay but these guys rocked it. The energy was on point, their voices sounded like the good ol’ days. They played a nice balance of newer music and the classics that I grew up with. Tears for Fears did not disappoint. They were a perfect band to see at Hollywood Bowl-fabulous!!

    LOVE TFF!

    by iluvla on 8/6/23

TFF was amazing! Looked good and sounded good. Wish it wasn't at Hollywood Bowl. I will never go back there again. Parking and ride pick up sucked. What a shame.

    Tears for Fears was Wondeful!

    by EG on 8/6/23

We had a great time at the concert. We enjoyed all the songs! My only complaint was the parking situation. Although we chose to be bussed in from LA Zoo, just getting out of the venue was horendous! Concert ended at 11pm and we didn't get back to our car at the LA zoo until midnight. wow

    Gen X…TOTALLY RAD!!!

    by Nikki on 8/6/23

They are in heavy rotation on my Spotify. I don’t listen to the radio. I grew up in the 80’s as part of the MTV generation. I had never seen them play live. So, when I was notified that they were going to be playing near me, I had to jump at this opportunity to buy tickets. The concert was STELLAR!!! REAL MUSICIANS playing REAL MUSIC. The 80’s music will always RULE.

    Childhood memories

    by VickyP on 8/6/23

I was very captivated listening to their voices. I never thought, after 40 years, I would be able to see and listen to them live. It sure brought back memories listening to them from my home country with my childhood friends.

Sounded as great as they did in 1985

    by Steve on 8/5/23

I first saw Tears for Fears in 1985 at the Hollywood Palladium and I have to say that Roland and Curt's voices are as strong (or maybe stronger) as back then. The band was tight, backup singers excellent, production great, and even their banter in-between songs was touching or funny. I don't (yet) have their latest album but the six songs they played off of it showed that they still have their creative juices. Bravo!

    EXCELLENT!

    by Maureen O on 8/5/23

I had planned to go to their concert in Exeter UK last year but it was canceled. I was lucky enough to purchase tickets to the final show at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles this year. This concert was the best concert I have ever attended! Besides the fact that Tears for Fears are my favorite band, the on time schedule and song selection was perfect! I am so sad it is over. My 21 year old daughter attended the concert with me and she agrees that it is the best concert she has been to. Thank you to Roland and Curt for rescheduling so that we had a second chance to attend the concert! We are looking forward to the next concert!!!!!

    Tears For Fears Connect w/Audience

    by TFF Agreeable on 8/5/23

Tears for Fears completed their tour in LA at the Hollywood Bowl 8/2. They’ve been together for more than 40 years, but it was their first show ever at the Bowl! Their concert showed the experience, intelligence and skill of decades while giving the energy and enthusiasm of first time Bowl performers. The sound was excellent as was the music and visuals throughout the night. Though they are a bit advanced in age, the vocals were also very good. Probably the best part of the night was the interaction with the audience. Ther were stories, reminisces, philosophy, and many sing alongs - even to a cover of Radiohead’s “Creep!” I’ve always liked them, but this show exceeded my expectations and gave me newfound appreciation

    Yes and No

    by Thor on 8/5/23

Opener was terrible. Singer was poor. No musicianship. Played too long. Intermission was way too long. Get on with it already! How many trips across the stage do the techs have to make to do their job? Tears finally came on, played 6 songs from Turning Point. Not a fan. Bands persist in playing music that is not popular. Do they really think it will help sales? Finally got to the songs the audience wanted to hear. Great reaction. Musicianship was outstanding. Roland’s voice was terrific. Curt not as good but effective. Backup singers were terrific with their solos. All in all a decent show except for the few bumps.
