Outstanding concert. Very entertaining and energetic!!!!

Great show. First time going to a show in The Lyric Theatre. Very cool place, but seats have zero leg room. Very uncomfortable.

The music was too loud for this small theatre. You could not understand the lyrics to anything he was singing. This was not a rock concert.

Taylor was exceptional at singing Van Morrison songs. Best show I have ever seen!

Taylor has a great voice BUT the instruments overpowered his voice. Could not understand the words and barely recognized Van Morrison’s music. When Taylor sang without all the “over production” it was good. Then you have the crazy stage lights that blinded those of us in the lower balcony. We had to leave before the end of the concert - hopefully the sound production crew got it right on Saturday’s performance. Friday’s production was close to awful.

We enjoyed our night at the Lyric for the most part. Our tickets were on the ground floor in Royal 100 section. For full price tickets you can not see very well on the sides of the stage at all. The tickets were great for seeing Taylor but not the others on stage. I know you can't do anything about others but there was one girl sitting around us that thought she was at an outdoor theater. Other than those couple of things we had a great time.

Taylor was excellent when performing the Van Morrison songs. However, there were too many stories between songs and the concert never took off with one song after another.

Awesome show! Fantastic epic theatre. Taylor even demonstrated the vaudeville acoustics! Band was tight! Got to go backstage preshow and meet the 2006 American Idol who has represented Alabama do well. What a nice guy!!

Always such a perfection and a fun show, I have probably seen you six times and love each and every show. The lyric theater is my favorite place to go, such a beautiful venue and not a bad seat in the house. Thank you for the picture of us together, that’s my special memory. I love saws juke joint as well and hope to find you there someday. Merry Christmas

Mr. Hicks has a very good stage presence and can certainly entertain an audience. The part of his show that was a disappointment was the constant usage of an iPad to read the lyrics of every non-original song he sung. If you are billing your show as a Rod Stewart show, you would hope, as a professional, he would have taken the time to learn the words to hits like Maggie May. These were not obscure songs at all and the enjoyment was diminished by the constant reading of the lyrics off of his device. I was not expecting to go to a karaoked concert but that is what I got.

Taylor was very friendly with the audience telling his stories. His band was Fabulous. They could back up any major Celebrity musical concert for sure. You can see that he loves entertaining his audience. Great talent.

The event was at the lyric theater. It was very easy in and out and the entire area around was well lighted. Taylor Hicks and his band put on an outstanding show. The music was well mixed and was the perfect volume. Taylor brought it with the rod Stewart covers. I will go see him again if he comes back.

I loved the band and Taylor. Piano player awesome. I was sitting center stage on 3rd row. Sometimes the lights were blinding.

Taylor’s performance was wonderful! He has the perfect voice for performing Rod Stewart hits, and his personality and humor were so enjoyable. The band was amazing!!!

We loved experiencing the Lyric Theater, the concert was a little short of our expectations - was advertised to be Songs of Rod Stewart & Christmas music. Show started shortly after 8 pm, took a break at 9 pm and ended at 10 pm. Only sang one Christmas song at the very end before leaving the stage and no curtain call - expected a bit more!

Hes so great LIVE.Very good storyteller..Love how he reacts to audience. I LOVE him so much and just cant get enough of him...Everyone seems to enjoy him.

This man is a 100# performer! He puts his all in every song ! FANTASTIC concert.

Started 15 minutes late but it was a great performance

Taylor is such a great performer!!! He gives a little of the "old" stuff, some really great "new" stuff and then a wonderful variety of songs. Always LOVE it when he uses the harmonica, he did not disappoint! While the concert, Taylor and the band were just awesome; however, the venue was not. My husband and I went for our 9th wedding anniversary. This was my second and LAST visit to the Lyric. The leg room is terrible but the worse part was all the stage lighting was in constant motion which was terribly distracting but also was shining right into the balcony and the audience's eyes. It definitely took away from the night and overall enjoyment of our "date night".

Overall, it was great and I wouldn't have missed it as I love the Lyric and Taylor's voice. The theater has been nicely restored, the acoustics are excellent and Taylor always puts on a good show. Here are the drawbacks - there seemed to be only one restroom open for men and one for women - insufficient for an entire theater of people. And, although we love Taylor's voice, we would rather he sing the songs the way they are written. Also, it would be nice if he sang more of his own songs. We enjoyed this show, but not as much as others of his that we have attended in the past.
