Tanya Tucker on Tour

From the beginning of her career, when she was a teenager who sounded like someone way beyond her years, Tanya Tucker has been blessed with an uncommonly expressive voice. Throughout her artistic evolution over the decades, that's never changed. To this day, when you catch the country legend in concert, you're listening to a singer who can tell a story in song like nobody else. And what's country music about, if not telling stories? Whether she's delivering some of her earliest hits, like "Delta Dawn" and "Would You Lay With Me (In a Field of Stone)," digging into later material, or changing things up completely with covers of tunes by the likes of the Eagles or Bruce Springsteen, Tucker approaches each performance of every song like it's the most important one of her life — because in that moment, it is.

Tanya Tucker in Concert

Tanya Tucker has blazed a long and singular path in country music, starting in 1972 when the shockingly precocious singer, only 13 years old at the time, debuted with her hit "Delta Dawn" (before Helen Reddy ever recorded it). With a musical maturity that made her sound unquestionably adult, she churned out a string of No. 1 country hits while she was still in her teens, songs like "What's Your Mama's Name" and "Would You Lay With Me (In a Field of Stone)." And of course the hits kept coming after she moved on to actual adulthood, with Tucker maintaining a presence in the Country Top 10 all the way into the late '90s. She's always had an outlaw attitude that set her apart from the pack — for instance, she released a rock 'n' roll album in 1979, when such things were unheard of for mainstream country stars. So her appeal has lasted, existing outside the constantly changing trends of country. For instance, when she released 2019's While I'm Livin', her first album in a decade, enough people were paying attention to ensure that the record made it into the Top 10 on the Country Album charts.

The band was made up of excellent musicians. I’d give them an eleven out of ten. Tanya is the epitome of professionalism. Most entertaining performer this year. Enjoyed all of it

Tanya Tucker at the Metropolitan Theatre in Morgantown. Age has been wonderful fir both of them. Who could ask for more! It was a full house and from her band to her dog Stella, Tanya did not disappoint. Her family were there and that made it all the more personal. She made us all feel at home and her songs brought tears to my eyes. I would see her agss as in anytime, anywhere. But it was special having her here in Almost Heaven, West Virginia. .

  • Forever to get started.

by Wasted precious time. on 3/10/20Metropolitan Theatre - MorgantownRating: 1 out of 5

Good show once she finally got started. The stage was already set up. Yet an eternity went by waiting; 60-90 minutes unacceptable. Me a very patient person was over the wait. Poor kids in the audience, ridiculous to put families through it. Can’t rate very high overall because of the wait.

  • Great show!

Our seats were good, we could see the stage easily. Tanya sounds as good as she ever did and is very entertaining! Great time and music!

Man, all I can stay is the old girl still has it. Her voice is truly amazing and her moves will make any man crumble to their knees begging for more.

  • Tawnya Tucker was Amazing !

by Onie on 3/4/20Grand Casino Hinckley Event Center - HinckleyRating: 3 out of 5

Tawnya Tucker was truly amazing ! And the sound was perfect . BUT the seating arrangement and seats where horrible! Kitchen chairs that where leg to leg. I was stuck between 2 lady’s that where 200 plus and couldn’t move an elbow or a leg. So I had to go back to the entryway. Was told to take my seat. Nope Not happening. Casino seats won’t happen for me again.

  • GREAT concert, Tanya still has it!

by BK on 3/4/20Grand Casino Hinckley Event Center - HinckleyRating: 5 out of 5

Tanya's voice is still amazing, she played all of her hits, plus a couple new ones. It was almost a 2-hour show and she rocked the entire thing. She interacted with the crowd and even took time to sign t-shirts and a jacket between songs (& snap some pics with concert-goers)! What an entertainer!

  • Tanya put on a good performance

by K. G. on 3/4/20Grand Casino Hinckley Event Center - HinckleyRating: 5 out of 5

I was expecting a less enthusiastic performance but she played her heart out and performed well. It was fun watching her from the front row.

  • Tanya Was Fantastic

by SunnySarah on 3/4/20Grand Casino Hinckley Event Center - HinckleyRating: 5 out of 5

Tanya Tucker did a fantastic job at Saturday's concert, singing both her old and current songs. She still sounds great! She was enthusiastic and very engaging with the crowd. She performed for over two hours which is a long time considering casino concerts are usually shorter. My only complaint is I was not a fan of her opening act.

Tanya Tucker was wonderful!! She never disappoints her fans!! I would go see her again, and again... Hinkley event area needs improvement!! Might need to stop folks from wearing large hats. I had a tall guy with a cowboy hat sit in front of me. blocked my view, that was disappointing.. he would not remove his hat.. he did not even look good in it. Damn fool!!!

by Karen on 3/3/20Grand Casino Hinckley Event Center - HinckleyRating: 5 out of 5

Great music—both oldies and new stuff! Didn’t expect anywhere’s near what Tanya delivered. For her age, she’s still “got it going on!” Loved having her daughter Presley singing backup too.
