About

Taking Back Sunday is one of the most notable bands to emerge from emo’s third wave. The group, which formed in 1999 on Long Island, New York, has featured the lineup of vocalist Adam Lazzara, guitarist John Nolan, bassist Shaun Cooper and drummer Mark O'Connell for nearly two decades. TBS have released eight studio albums, including their 2002 platinum-certified debut Tell All Your Friends and four career Top 10 releases on the Billboard 200. After 2004’s “A Decade Under the Influence” became their first single to hit the Alternative Airplay chart, the quartet released their breakthrough 2006 effort Louder Now, led by the Hot 100-charting single “MakeDamnSure.” The band spent 2022 collaborating with the likes of Steve Aoki and The Maine before releasing their 2023 full-length, 152.

Great show with a couple strange decisions

    by Handlebar Larry on 7/24/23

Warped Tour got old. But the music still feels the same. However nostalgic the warped tour like event was it had 2 hiccups. 1. They had no set list posted anywhere so the only way to find out when the band you wanted to see was playing (mcs for me) was to ask the merchant booths. 2. Started at 2pm on a Friday. Millennial aren't the summer off college students we were 15/20 years ago. We got kids and jobs so having it start early on a Friday was an issue cuz we had to go to work first. Thankfully I got there 1 hour before MCS played cuz if I'd have missed them the review would be a lot more negative. The venue was nice thanks to the weather agreeing mostly with the outdoor venue but the 40 dollar parking with closed off street parking isn't the band fault but a concern for anyone going to the venue. Had this been a Saturday show or at least posted the scheduled times before hand it would've been a great 5 star show.

    Definitely memorable

    by Mak on 7/24/23

The set was full of songs that belt out I. Your shower concert, but there was also a lot of tempo switches during the song done by the lead singer and lots of talking in between songs which would have been cool but there wasn’t a point to the monologues. I’m stoked I got to check this band off my bucket list but wouldn’t go see a headliner show again.

Never seen so many people leave for a headliner

    by Nick on 7/24/23

Taking back sunday was one of the worst live shows I've been too. Lead singer was unintelligible and just hollered into the mic while doing the same couple of dance moves and mic twirls the entire show. Any crowd work was just rambling nonsense. The only bright spot was that the band was actually really good. I've never seen so many people leave a show during a headliner..

Another sucky fest for live nation

    by Makayla on 7/24/23

There is no organization when it comes to live nation. There wasn’t clear marked parking, they didn’t give us the option to purchase ahead of time. They only had two water stations for the whole crowd which broke halfway through. Chairs were so close together no one could walk past everyone would have to get up and move. Overall very poorly set up. Taking back Sunday was AWFUL we left about 3 songs in. Along with most of the people sitting near us.

    Tbs sucked

    by Taylor on 7/24/23

tbs needs to hang up their hats… they sounded awful! Thank god for pvris, motion city, and the Maine! They were the true stars of the show

    Yikes

    by Beezy on 7/24/23

Holy hell. The other bands were really great and we enjoyed the lineup….until Taking Back Sunday. Can someone please inform Adam that whatever the hell he was doing on stage wasn’t what anyone paid to see. It was laughable and then sad as we watched people bail on the headliner about three songs in.

    Awesome Concert!

    by Joe H on 7/22/23

This was an amazing experience! Taking Back Sunday knows how to put on a show! They are my favorite band.

Taking Back Sunday was a big disappointment.

    by Ash on 7/21/23

I love their music, and listen to them a lot. However, their live music is now very disappointing. They sound so bad. If I would have paid big money for their concert, I'd be so mad.

    Hoped for more

    by Em0G on 7/21/23

Struggling vocals and weird repetitive dance moves. Was a bit disappointed.

Should've been canceled due to weather

    by Leo on 7/19/23

Pouring rain, lightning, and tornado warnings but the show must go on in a tent next to the water with no vendors

    Okay time

    by Nic on 7/19/23

I was happy to see my favorite band, but the venue is not a good place if you want to dance. Not a lot of room and uncomfortable seats. My items were also stolen, but I guess that’s my own fault and not the venue’s problem. I’m just a bit sad because I expected to enjoy myself more

    Sounded terrible

    by K. s. on 7/19/23

The band itself sounded great but the lead singer sounded terrible. He sounded like he was out of breath, he was never in time with the band which make the songs you know and love hard to listen to. Gave them 3 songs to see if things got better and they didn’t. Ended up leaving early. If they were the main reason I went to the show I would have been majorly disappointed

Taking Back Sunday on a Sunday!!!

    by Tyler on 7/19/23

This was my first time seeing TBS and it was awesome! They're one of my favorite bands! I'd love to see them again for a longer set and would be amazing if, by the grace of God, to be invited on stage to play a song with them. Maybe someday! But they filled the musical expectations I had for them. Glad I was able to check off something from my bucket list. They definitely took back Sunday.

Disappointing Live Show, Scammed @ Bar

    by Mads on 7/19/23

I’ve waited 10 years to finally see Taking Back Sunday live. The lead singer was incredibly disappointing. He looked and sounded like he was not mentally there. The sound was also super inconsistent and painful at some points, so was his performance. I was also charged $27 (with tip) for a single drink that was supposed to be given to me in a fun shaker glass, which is why it was so expensive and could be used for refills at $19. I didn’t get the shaker glass. It was also advertised as only $22 but I believe I was charged $24-25 and then added my tip. I felt scammed.

    Mediocre

    by Ashlee on 7/19/23

I’ve had much better audio experiences with them. It was good with the Maine but on their own set it could be off beat or pitch and then like they were catching up to the song. Was slightly disappointing.

    Not Good

    by Cab on 7/19/23

Sound quality on vocals was terrible. Left when they were only 2 songs into their set. Every other band was great.

Lead singer of TBS needs to retire

    by Rina on 7/17/23

The most entertaining thing of this show was the mic twirling by the lead singer, which he did every 30 seconds.

    Screamo at its best

by Fun as always on 7/17/23

I really never have a bad time seeing these guys, far from my top genre of music but I keep going back. I discovered them going to Coheed and Cambria.

    Feedback

    by Edwin M. on 7/17/23

The venue could do better regarding the speaker situation, due to the seating of how close it was to the stage. It felt that the speakers were distorted and very loud. I understand perhaps its for the people on the lawn to hear properly. Perhaps if the speakers were available in different locations or more spaced out and less distorted then it could've been easier on the ears and to understand the singers a bit more clearly.
