Taj Mahal in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL

by C. S. on 2/3/20Ponte Vedra Concert Hall - Ponte Vedra Beach

Taj was in fine voice and spirit as always. I love him! Trey Hensley and Rob Ickes (virtuoso guitarist and dobro player, respectively) were outstanding as an opening act for Taj and also when they joined Taj and his quartet onstage for a few numbers. Taj's "quartet" without Trey and Rob were just ok. In addition, staging for the show could be improved. I was sitting in 5th row center and couldn't see Taj's lead guitarist (Roberto) who was sitting in the back of the stage far to the left behind various equipment. And the drummer, for some reason, was playing from behind a tall plastic screen pretty well hidden from view.

Caught up with Taj at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall, perfect setting for Taj's tremendous ability to interact with his audience. Great show, everybody went home smiling!

Taj Mahal has still got it

by VineGirl on 9/13/18The Queen - Wilmington

My husband first saw Taj Mahal in 1968 in LA with the Pointer Sisters as the opening act. Here we are, 50 years later, and he is still in good voice. Everyone will hear one of their favorite Taj Mahal songs, and the venue is small enough to feel intimate. We sat at a small table back near the bar, and we could still hear everything. His band is tight, and the evening was fun. Go see him if you can.

    Taj Mahal

    by Cypher261 on 9/10/18Carolina Theatre - Durham

Hi- It was good to see Taj Mahal again. Blues at its' best. Watching him play his steel guitar and other instruments was fascinating. I am concerned that we are slowly losing all the great bluesmen. Steve

Remember the feeling as a child, when you woke up and morning smiled... An evening with Taj never fails to make me happier.

Why would you think I would review anything in a capitalist society without compensation? That is not how your system works. and its not my system so...
