About

Tab Benoit is a Grammy nominated singer, songwriter and guitarist who has built a remarkable 30+ year career on the foundation of his gritty and soulful Delta swamp blues, acquiring a devoted legion of fans along the way, as well as 5 Blues Music Awards, including BB King Entertainer of the Year (twice) and an induction into The Louisiana Music Hall of Fame.  He has recorded and/or performed with Junior Wells, George Porter Jr, Dr. John, Willie Nelson, Big Chief Monk Boudreaux, Billy Joe Shaver, Maria Muldaur, James Cotton, Cyril Neville, Kenny Aronoff, Allen Toussaint, Kim Wilson, Jimmy Thackery, Charlie Musslewhite, Kenny Neal, Chris Layton, Ivan Neville, Jimmy Hall, Jim Lauderdale, Anders Osborne, and Alvin Youngblood Hart to name a few. Tab's accomplishments as a musician are matched only by his devotion to the environmental health of his native Louisiana wetlands. Benoit is the founder and driving force behind Voice of the Wetlands, an organization working to preserve the coastal waters of his home state. In 2010, he received the Governor's Award for Conservationist of the Year from the Louisiana Wildlife Federation. Benoit also starred in the iMax motion picture Hurricane on the Bayou, a documentary of Hurricane Katrina's effects and a call to protect and restore the wetlands.

Tab Benoit is a MUST SEE Live!

by SC Blues Rock Fan on 4/9/24The Charleston Music Hall - Charleston

I was told by a friend in the Houston Blues Society that ‘you must go see Tab Benoit play live!’ I live in the Columbia, SC area, and this was my first chance to go see him at the Charleston Music Hall. Tab’s blues guitar playing was AWESOME, and he personally connected with the audience, which is rare to see. I was really glad that I took that advice (and you should too)!!!

by Great Venue, Greater Show! on 4/9/24The Charleston Music Hall - Charleston

Tab Benoit is such a masterful musician - his music is rooted so deep down in his soul - honest, heartfelt, real!! Was really cool to see him in such an intimate venue like the Charleston Music Hall. We always love going to shows there and experiencing Tab's show in that environment you could really feel the love he gives with every note he plays and every word he sings! Don't miss your chance to see him anytime he comes around, you'll truly regret it if you do.

    Great Evening

    by NM2782 on 12/17/23Taft Theatre - Cincinnati

Excellent show played the whole time and with heart. Best kind of musician to see. He is onto what he does and enjoys it and that translates to the audience. What I mean by played the whole time is not a lot of breaks or talking.

    Tab Benoit

by Sooz on 12/17/23Taft Theatre - Cincinnati

As always, Tab Benoit does not disappoint. Is the seating area getting smaller or have my legs gotten longer? I felt sorry for anyone taller than me at 5' 4".

    Surprisingly Heavy

by HAPROW on 12/12/23The Wellmont Theater - Montclair

I came to the Tab Benoit show thinking I would get a bit of bayou flavor. What I got was Louisiana thunder and lightning storm. Tab and his two band mates blew the roof off the Wellmont Theatre. Great, straight forward, loud, guitar driven blues/rock. Never realized he was such a shredder. I would highly recommend seeing him if you're looking for a musically fun night.

    Great Concert

by Becky on 12/12/23Aura - Portland

The Aura venue was smaller than I anticipated which made it even better since it was up close and personal and there wasn’t a bad seat in the house. Tab Benoit was AMAZING!! He’s a true Blues artist and exceptional guitar player who can connect with the audience.❤️ Dirty Dozen Brass Band was good too. Overall experience was great and would definitely visit this place again and highly recommend. 🙂

Only 1 good Cajun rock tune. Kept waiting for more but just the same thing over & over. He’s a great guitar player but show was boring! Good venue!
