  • Suzy at her Finest

by Inyati on 6/20/10Birchmere - AlexandriaRating: 5 out of 5

Suzy Bogguss' clear, crisp voice was quintisentially fantastic Saturday night as she crooned away on everything from country (and Western swing) to Memphis blues and classic American folksongs. Taking the stage with an infectious joi-de-vivre, she performed her staples with fun and vigor, or with a hollow sadness, as the occasion required so as to evoke nostalgia in the hearts and souls of the audience. Accomanied by a bass fiddle and guitar/mandolin performed beautifully by her companions, the sound delivery was crisp and not at all overwhelming as some small venues experience. Suzy was as fiesty and fun as ever, mixing the down home country girl with a maturing sexy maven giving images of late night blues in a smoke filled room and a bottle of Blind Dog bourbon somewhere on the Missisippi. With all of her fine repetoir, I still wish she would perform a rendition of "American Pie" - she could knock that one out of the park, along with anything she wants, from Hank Wiliams to the Eagles. Suzy, you were great.

Suzy played a great mix of old and newer material. Her humor made the night.

Good energy, great musicianship. I liked seeing this artist in a trio setting--especially in a venue as intimate as the Birchmere.

  • Wonderful Show

by Forgetable on 5/24/10The Ark - Ann ArborRating: 5 out of 5

I love any performance at the Ark! But Suzy Bogguss was a favorite! I love the feel of being so up close and personal with the performer and she made it even better by telling stories and interacting with the audience. Great Show!!

Good show! First time at the Ark, and we enjoyed the performance. Excellent food at nearby restaurants too.

This one was well worth it! Small venue and amazing singer! Hasn't had a HIT in a few years but frankly you wonder why when they wouldn't have to do much to her voice to make it sound good! hahaha

I was lucky enough to see Suzy in Tulsa a number of years ago and she was the best singer sence Pasty Cline, smooth and wonderful! Her tapes are one of the few I have ever bought in my life, I just didn't know what happened to her. There is not one in country music now that can even touch her. Come back to country Suzy!! Boyd

  • Amazing Acoustic Show

by Suzyfan on 3/21/10The Plaza Theatre - OrlandoRating: 5 out of 5

Suzy gave an unforgettable show. It was just her and a local friend. They played for about an hour and a half with a short break in the middle. Her voice is absolutely flawless. It was an intimate venue and Suzy was so personable. She stayed after the show and met everyone for pictures/autographs. A great night!!
