About

Everyone remembers the moment when they first watched that viral video of Susan Boyle’s live performance of “I Dreamed a Dream” (from the Broadway musical Les Miserables) on the U.K.’s televised talent show, “Britain’s Got Talent.” One minute she was your average church choir member from Scotland, and the next she was an international superstar, being touted as possessing the “voice of an angel.” Now, audiences around the globe are clamoring for tickets to watch Susan perform gorgeous renditions of such timeless classics as “Wild Horses,” “Memory,” “You’ll See” and “Cry Me A River” LIVE in concert. Susan has also been praised by the likes Cameron Mackintosh (producer of Les Miserables and Miss Saigon) who calls her singing “heart-touching, thrilling and uplifting” and legendary Broadway actress and singer Elaine Paige who has called her “a role model for everyone who has a dream.” Susan Boyle is especially admired by fans of other golden-voiced artists like Andrea Bocelli, Charlotte Church and Hayley Westenra.

    Enjoyed this performance

by PaPaLoves2go on 10/29/14Atlanta Symphony Hall - Atlanta

The effort to get to this event was well rewarded. Susan gave a performance that demonstrated her vocal range and a variety of musical genres. I found myself on my feet applauding throughout her time on stage. To end her show with her signature song "I dreamed a dream" was just fantastic, the icing on the cake!

    Amazing talent

by DoriConyers on 10/29/14Atlanta Symphony Hall - Atlanta

I have never been to an event that had so many standing ovations, Ms Boyle has an amazing talent, not only her voice but staying her own unassuming self. Her choice of music was outstanding, her band and supporting voices did a great job. Thank you for coming to Atlanta and giving us the treat of a lifetime.

    Great evening

by StillRomeosMom on 10/29/14Atlanta Symphony Hall - Atlanta

My friend and I had a wonderful time listening to Susan Boyle on Sunday night. Her first two songs were a little off key but after she warmed up there was no stopping this tiny munchkin from Scotland. She was funny at times dealing with patrons who would shout out their love for her. I enjoyed her upbeat numbers as well as her sentimental offerings. If Ms Boyle was appearing multiple nights I would be there every night. I'll be buying her new CD not only for myself but for many of my friends and family for Christmas gifts.

    Susan Boyle was Fabulous!!

by CMPet on 10/29/14Atlanta Symphony Hall - Atlanta

My wife and I went to the Susan Boyle concert as a birthday present for my wife, because she likes her singing. I wasn't exactly sure what to expect in terms of choreography, etc., so I was surprised. Her singing was fabulous throughout the show. She engaged he audience in several instances and responded positively to audience feedback. The show started with a male singer and two supporting female singers along with a 7-member band. While these supporting groups might go on for a while, this trio only sang two numbers and introduced Susan in a grand introduction with all of the lights, glitter, etc. She sand for about 45 minutes and then closed for about a 15 minute intermission before resuming the second half of the show that lasted for about another 45-50 minutes. We sat in row T of the theatre, which is a little far back to see her facial features, but we had the grand view, so to speak. She was a little bit difficult to understand when she was speaking between numbers, and at times she appeared a little stilted in that role, but I expect that will change as she gains experience. However, there was no difficultly understanding the words to the songs she sang, and she engaged the other singers, the band, and also a group of about two dozen young people that provided background support for some of her songs. My wife thought the concert was fabulous and I concur with her assessment. I would go to another one of her concerts, if/when, she returns to the Atlanta areas. The next time we would sit closer to the stage.

A special evening with a talented lady

by legalmom55 on 10/29/14Atlanta Symphony Hall - Atlanta

I expected to hear her sing tracks from her albums, but was pleasantly surprised by her banter with the audience and her "naturalness" in putting on a live show. Sure, it was choreographed and scripted for success, but the show was crafted around her talents and what she was comfortable in doing. It all made for a great evening watching and listening to a unique talent who is living her dream. A wonderfully inspirational experience for all concerned.

Susan Boyle is fun and talented

by JolieJardin on 10/29/14Atlanta Symphony Hall - Atlanta

Susan Boyle is such a delightful personality. She comes across as both sincere and funny. We had some real LOL moments with her, and the bottom line is that she is adorable and endearing. Of course, we were there for that voice of hers, and she did not disappoint. Her song selections were fabulous, including those songs we hadn't heard before. Yes, with the nearly two hours of back-to-back songs, her voice did get tired in a couple of songs, but we all gave it up to her newness to touring and the generosity of the number of songs she gave us (over 20). Her amazing range and the clarity of her beautiful voice more than made up for the couple of "rough" notes she may have had. All-in-all, we truly enjoyed Susan's concert in a big way; and, if she comes back, we will see her again.

    Susan is for Real

by gregmcgolf on 10/29/14Atlanta Symphony Hall - Atlanta

I rarely go to concerts. I was intrigued to hear Susan in person, to see if the real version matched the professional productions. The man next to me said he came because of his wife. After a couple songs I asked what he thought. He said, "This woman is truly for real! She has an amazing voice. I am a new fan." I agree and loved her. Personable, sang for 2 hours and sang many types of songs, fast, slow, upbeat and somber. Her pace is amazing and I have learned not to compare her to the artists that may have originally sang a particular song, but simply to enjoy Susan's version and listen to that beautiful voice. The gal next to me cried during some of them because they touch you. Susan has developed stage presence and is certainly getting more comfortable being in front of a live audience. She gave her best effort in every song and the audience loved her. So do I.

Susan Boyle in San Diego was fantastic!

by Lee1967 on 10/15/14Balboa Theatre - San Diego

Inspite of having a sore throat, Susan Boyle completed a challenging setlist of 23 songs. Her voice was beautiful and she sang with great emotion. Susan is a born entertainer - charismatic and humorous. She kept the audience enthralled from the first note till the last. It was a great experience to attend her first-ever concert in the US and I am pleased to be attending the last concert in Jacksonville FL on Nov. 6. Having seen her in San Diego, I can't wait!

    Susan Boyle awesome!

by v95060 on 10/14/14Balboa Theatre - San Diego

I was actually surprised at how much she has come out of her shell and her ability now to converse with the audience while still being her homespun self. Even with a sore throat, her voice was beautiful and all in all she put on a fabulous show. Her fan base dedication is amazing and I am one of so many. I was thoroughly entertained throughout.

    Rocky start

by Nonsuperwoman on 10/12/14Balboa Theatre - San Diego

I feel privileged to have seen Susan Boyle in her maiden voyage North American tour. However I am sorry she was not in the best of voice and struggled consistently all evening for high notes. She did explain she had a sore throat, so I guess she gets points for getting the show going and letting it go on. I am not sure having the show go on despite her vocal evening limitations for that evening was such a good idea. I guess she gets points from me for being a gamer. I also felt the staging was wrong. Too many lights flashing about; especially annoying to me were the direct spotlights into the audience's eyes two or three times during the evening. The lighting choices at other times could be seen as an attempt to cover up the lack of actual content on the stage. As for costuming, I feel she should get away from sheath dresses which only accentuate her penguin-like physique. The first white outfit was, for me, overmuch costuming. I didn't like the convoluted hairstyle either. The later dresses were better, but basically the same unflattering style. At times, I felt she was deliberately cultivating the Scottish rustic image. It got a bit overdone. She should consider making this less of a shtick.

    listen, don't watch

by DisappointmentSD on 10/12/14Balboa Theatre - San Diego

She said she had a sore throat. Hopefully that explains the difficulty she experienced with her vocals, such as being unable to transition through the passagio and unable to sing certain notes. Probably would have been better to cancel, refund our money, and protect the voice from developing vocal nodes. She needs a difference producer or director. Whoever has her making the random arm-raising movements has created a horrid visual distraction, completely inauthentic. All choreographed movements (including the short dance and supposed interaction with male singer) were awkward and painful to watch. She has a great voice and excellent sense of humor. Let her be herself and it might be worth seeing the show.

    What a wonderful evening!

by Owlman on 10/11/14Balboa Theatre - San Diego

Susan Boyle's concert was totally involving and satisfying! She sang a wide variety of musical genres, both from her albums and new pieces. The arrangements and accompaniment were really outstanding. In spite of waking up the morning of her first concert in her first U.S. tour with a sore throat, which left her a bit hoarse, with true British spirit, she marched on. Her voice lost a bit in the higher register at times, but it didn't stop the audience from thoroughly enjoying her song stylings and emotional content. Her rendition of Angel, You Raise Me Up, and All That I Was Meant to Be were wonderfully powerful. She was able to handle slow ballads and fast, jivey numbers with ease. The fact that she did have some difficulty with a few notes due to her hoarseness only intensified the audiences' support and enjoyment of her.

    Susan Boyle Gave her ALL

by JoanneK1 on 10/11/14Balboa Theatre - San Diego

I have heard Susan Boyle in concert a few times, but in San Diego Opening Night of her American Tour she gave a stellar and heroic performance. She was fighting a viral sore throat and unable to hit a few high notes, but she made up for it with subtle and tender emotional content. The second half had some upbeat gospel numbers from her upcoming new album Hope which were wonderful and In the Arms of the Angels was the best I've ever heard. Welcome to American, Susan!
