I was very pleasantly surprised. A blast from the past and a 10 out of 10 performance. I would go again if they were playing tomorrow. Nice work gentlemen! đ¤
Sunny Day Real Estate was fantastic! They sounded great and the band is really tight. Goldsmith behind the drum kit is phenomenal. The Van Buren is a really cool venue.
The Van Buren booked several excellent bands that I saw this year. But Sunny Day Real Estate has been the hands-down best live band I've seen this year. Maybe in a lot of years actually. Sure, they played nearly every song I wanted. But it wasn't just the setlist. Jeremy Enigk, Dan Hoerner and crew left me in awe of their connection playing together. Not just "no missed notes", every nuance was included and clearly audible. Quick shout out to FOH who absolutely crushed it with their mix. It sounded just like the albums. What got me was their cohesiveness, even while being in their own little worlds. They were just so perfectly in the zone all night. I'd be happy if I could go to this show for the rest of my life.
I searched YouTube for verification of whether or not SDRE could still bring it or not before purchasing tickets and learned that they absolutely still could, but I didnât even consider looking anything up about their opening act. I had never heard of said opening act, Cursive, before and was absolutely blown away by them. I gotta say that their studio stuff has paled in comparison, but live they were a force to be reckoned with and I am eternally grateful for the opportunity to have seen them.
Such an exceptional show. They are a band you dont want to miss live. It was perfection.
i've waited 20 years to see a band that i never thought i would get a chance to see. this is a new core memory unlocked. how they sound this good in 2025 just gives me goose bumps.
Ill shoot my only complaint out upfront; This setlist repeats 13 out of 16 songs from their 2023 show..& since i still watch my recordings from then, it was bound to not be very fresh whatsoever..& it wasnt fresh That doesn't mean it wasn't phenomenal, Dan & Jeremy are so endearing. Notable: Younger generation made up the majority, the most of the 3 shows i attended. They knew 3 songs this time, not 2đ i got to scream Song About An Angel cuz everyone sang so loud and it became the moment that song earned a deep meaningful memory to it. When they have Days Were Golden as the final song, it's gonna be the 1 exit from stage you'll remember for a lifetime..made me wanna tear. The reason its a 5, you had to he ON sdre when they first got back together to deal with a repeated setlist, so there was probably a handful of us..im happy pthers got an incredible set.
If youâre on the fence about seeing SDRE please do not miss this opportunity. Itâs hard to believe how much time has passed since Diary but whether youâre a long-time fan or just wondering why us worshippers are so devout, thereâs never been a better time to take them in. Jeremy and Co. will not disappoint. If youâve ever felt a connection with any of their songs do not pass up a chance to see them live. Soon weâll be dead.
Great song selection, the band sounded tight and Jeremy's voice sounded perfect.
