No. Just no.
by angematange on 12/10/14House of Blues San Diego - San DiegoI was really excited to see what a Suicide Girls Burlesque show might look like, and this is was NOT what I thought it could be. I'm not an expert, but in my opinion, this was not burlesque. This was basically a bunch of dance routines done by almost nude girls with filthy mouths tossed in with a bit of Jack Daniels. The girls can dance, but it wasn't seductive or all that sexy. Burlesque often throws in a bit of comedy, and there wasn't any of that either! They used the same girls over and over, and it became monotonous after about 20 minutes. Also, there was some chick standing at a table at the back of the stage, doing nothing (except being distracting). The girls had to encourage the crowd to applaud/cheer! Maybe I've been spoiled because I saw Dita Von Teese on her Strip Strip Hooray tour, where I smiled and clapped and cheered the whole time. At the SG show, I was cringing, shaking my head and backing away slowly. We left early - and we waited over an hour later than their scheduled go time! So disappointing.
