Absolutely the best laughs I have had in a long time. I will be making this show my new Christmas tradition and will be going every year from now on.
Stuart makes his stories so real you feel like you're sitting in the room with the characters. He makes me laugh, sometimes cry and makes room for reflection on connections with my own family life. I just love his stories and the way he tells them.
Interplay between Stuart and the audience improves every year. Truly a great show.
Awesome show! It was our first time to see a live show. Have been listening to the show on the radio for many years. Will make this a regular Christmas tradition. :)
Stuart was, as usual, an amazing start to the Christmas season. He is the master of story telling - causing you to guffaw out loud one second and bringing a tear to your eye the next... He is a perfect start to the season and I look forward to seeing him, at this time of year, again next year! The musicians with him are excellent as well and Chic Gamine were amazing!
Love this show on the radio and it is amazing in person. So glad I went!
As always, Stuart and the Vinyl Cafe gang were a treat. Musical guests Chic Gamine and the VC band were simply outstanding talents; Rick Shier's piano work is amazing. And of course, the stories, the heart of the matter. Add to this Stuart's interaction with the crowd, and Anton, the hilarious 10-year old Vanna White wannabe, and you have a very entertaining evening. Thank you, Vinyl Cafe.
Great time! Would certainly come here again!! Love Stuart! Nice venue, kind staff.
This was our third time to hear Stuart; there will be more! The music was excellent.
Wonderful start to the holiday season. Stuart was his usual entertaining self well supported by his "crew." Chic Gamine were excellent - beautiful voices.
Not sure why I waited so long to see this master storyteller in person. Both Mr. McLean and his musical accompaniment, Chic Gamine, were more entertainment than the cost of my ticket. Thoroughly enjoyed it all.
Always a Christmas treat. Loved the reminiscing of stories past.
The funniest show I have ever seen. It was beyond fantastic , never laughed so much in my life. Definitely going back next year and bringing the whole family.
Listened for years but my first live concert. The hilarity, warmth. and intimacy achieved by Stuart and his guests made me feel refreshed and rejuvenated. If you have listened to the program but not attended a concert, you won't be disappointed!
Stuart and his all star cast and crew mesmerized an all age audience with music and stories. We laughed and sang along. The night flew by. Wish it was longer!!!
This has become a must-do for my Mother and I and we look forward to it every year. This year did not disappoint. Stuart was at his best. Had some new stories and some old. All are delivered eloquently and with great humour. His interraction with his "assistants" from the audience is fantastic. Not sure how he gets such great kids and gets them to interract so well. I truly special part of our holiday season
I had always loved the vinyal cafe stories but now that I had the pleasure to watch Stewart in action, I love it even more!! This holiday performance will now become an annual tradition for my family!! Thank you for such a witty show!!
Stuart McLean is a fantastic story teller. The music and ambience is what holiday memories and feelings should embody.
The entire concert was, as always, fabulous. Stuart's selection of musical guests has been a catalyst for my listening choices. The stories, new and old are also wonderful. My only gripe in Banff is the huge number of locals who cannot attend because the auditorium is full of Calgarians! Everybody has a right to come - I totally get that, but it's disappointing that we have only one show in Banff.. it's always sold out very quickly.... maybe time to consider a second show in Banff too!!
Stuart McLean was engaging to watch and his stories make me laugh for weeks!
