    McLean as expected

by Anonymous on 12/21/10National Arts Centre - Ottawa

While it was a good performance, McLean is a great story teller. He was not at the level I was expecting. I thought that something was missing, maybe his normal enthusiasm. The musical selections were nice, but again I guess I expected more......

Followed same formula as last year. Too predictable. One trick pony, amusing once, don't see it a second time

    An underwhelming event

by Deee2 on 12/10/10Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

The music was terrible. This is at least the 4th Vinyl Cafe Event we have attended and we did not at all appreciate the musical component - one being a gospel singer and the other being someone who, to our ear, can not sing at all. We are also quite annoyed about the gift-giving component of the program - we all paid good money for our tickets - why does Stuart continue to want to give out gifts to the youngest and the eldest of his audience. Are we all not worthy of consideration??

Stuart McLean has a wonderful presentation and I loved to see him in person. He had us laughing 'til we cried.

It caused me to daydream about my youth because I could really relate to these old situational comedies as having been there before, well I never put a cake on the roof of my car! but......

    Stuart Rocks

by loracsmada52 on 12/7/10Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

This has become a Christmas tradition. The stories ... the music. We love it! We're huge fans of the Vinyl Cafe, and a chance to see Stuart in person is a treat. We'll be back next year.

    The evening was special!!!

by englehart on 12/6/10Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

The music was absolutely enjoyable. The story telling was wonderful. The entire evening was special and has become a memorable keepsake to be treasured. Not often can we attend a concert and enjoy every minute of it. Would definately go back next year. Matt Anderson was so powerful. We bought his Christmas album and will be buying his other CDs in the New Year. Also loved Jacquie Richardson. Will look to see where we can get her music.

A truly perfect family Christmas event, I'd go every year to hear Stuart reveal the latest Dave and Morley adventures. The singers and musicians are always very good too.
