STROMAE IN CONCERT:
Belgian newcomer Stromae is exploding onto the scene with his catchy dance hits and signature stagewear. Although minimalistic, Stromae's live performances are enthralling as he dances enthusiastically around the stage in his wildly patterned button-downs singing French-language hits like "Papaoutai" and "Alors on danse." Whether he's taking on different stage personas or delighting fans with his soaring voice, Stromae's impressive showmanship proves he's an all-around entertainer. Back on the road, he'll treat fans to one exciting performance after another with his rap-infused electronica on his upcoming tour.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Born in Brussels, Paul Van Haver, a.k.a. Stromae, got his start at an early age, studying music theory and picking up the drums at age 11. As he got older his musical tastes broadened, and he became more involved in the rap scene by forming the group Suspicion with his friend J.E.D.I. The duo parted ways soon after, leading Stromae to pursue music full-time and release his debut EP Juste un cerveau, un flow, un fond et un mic... in 2007. Since then, he's topped the Ultratop charts in his native Belgium with two hit studio albums, won a number of awards including Best Belgian Artist at the MTV Europe Music Awards, and collaborated with hip-hop giants Kanye West and the Black Eyed Peas. His French-pop dance jams will continue to shake up the rap game as he sets out for a string of hit-filled tour dates.

by Gen1616 on 12/17/22Centre Bell - MontrealIt was a great show! It’s a must see show! But I would have purchased ticket further away from the stage to be in the front instead of the side, if I knew in advanced that the view was obstructed on the side. We missed a lot of the visual effect.

The arena is to small to receive a big show like that, the scene was hidden by armature/spot lights and the lack of dept of the arena. The artist gave a wonderful show and was at his tippytop as always!

I regret that they put so much lights on the side that hide the scene when you are watching the show from the side Great shows as usual

After, it was extreamly long before the actual show begin. The big problem was the absence of giant screens. The ones in the back saw near nothing. The speakers hide thé animations behind the artiste for like half of the seats.

Unfortunately I don’t know French well enough to understand or properly sing the lyrics but the way he sang everything with so much energy and the performance and stage design was absolutely phenomenal and beautiful. The robots, his small interjections, the lights and the images were absolutely fantastic.

I thoroughly enjoyed this concert and if he had more dates in Boston, I would have gone to see him again. Now planning to see him in London in May 2023. This show deserves an encore. It was that good!
