  • Storm Large is mesmerizing!!

by Ginz on 6/16/12Aladdin Theater - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

I didn't know what to expect. I purposely choose not listen to or watch anything she's done. Needless to say I was blown away. She is so animated and theatrical not to mention that powerful voice. Truly enjoyed every minute of the show.

  • Storm in the Aladdin

The show was terrific. I was not overly impressed by the opening act; however, Storm Large more than made up for it with her session.

Storm is always great. She is original and talkative which you do not find very often these days. Will continue to make an effort to see her whenever I can. What a great intimate venue.

Storm Large never disappoints. Her voice is amazing and her banter is hilarious. We are so lucky to have a talent like this in our city. If you haven't seen her...go. Go every opportunity you have. I do.

The only time I have missed one of her shows is because I was out of the country. Never, ever, ever pass the opportunity to go! I am always amazed at the growth and depth of her talent as I have followed her over the years in Portland. This show did not dissapoint for over 2 hours.

This lady is something special!! I saw her one woman show last year, which was awesome, and she has lost none of her energy and power! Lady gaga is a pale image next to Ms, Large. She hits every note with such conviction that it leaves you breathless. I cannot wait until she return to Portland this summer for another round of spectacular!!!

by happyhedgehog on 6/12/11Aladdin Theater - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

I love her! She is a role model for being yourself and living with passion! Her voice and personality are the best in a performer! I love her humor and naughtiness, too. The songs she has written are my favorites and speak to me! The ones that others have written get transformed into something different and wonderful!

  • Consistent Excellence

by debhig on 6/12/11Aladdin Theater - PortlandRating: 5 out of 5

Storm was in powerful voice and presence. She was primed to give us a great show and she did. You know, she is always consistent with delivery. She never fails to please. Her voice always is there supporting what she wants to put across.... a true blessing for her. I always thought of her as a singer, but she really is a comedienne who delights and tickles everyone. You should see everyone's faces, they just love her and every word, song, and action she does. I think that all of us have a passion inside us. Many are working at jobs and letting their passions slip to the side of them. You can't always "rock" answering a phone or setting a dish in front of someone or turning in a financial report. And when they see someone doing something that they really love, and seeing them doing it to 100% of what they can do with it, it brings out their support to see someone accomplish something that they would perhaps like to do with their own passion. The love that was present in the Aladdin house was sincere, appreciative and nuturing. One doesn't see this too often. The arrangements and music was exceptional, always improving and most likely due to one James Beaton, who creates the setting for Storm to shine. A magical man. Talented and insightful.
