  • Wonderful evening!!!

by KTQ on 4/15/19The Wiltern - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

The SCC Solo concert was wonderful! It really felt like it was a living room setting. Steven was candid and personal and of course his music is unparalleled! Can’t wait till next time!!

  • Kind of disappointed

by Enginaaron on 4/14/19Balboa Theatre - San DiegoRating: 3 out of 5

It was great to see SCC live. He sounded great, had tons of energy, and put on a great show. But he talked SO much. Rambled is more like it. Happy to hear him but disappointed by all the wasted time rambling about this or that.

  • Awesome!

    by V. W. on 4/14/19Balboa Theatre - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

The theater it was in was very beautiful and elegant. Also, the performance was outstanding, especially because he performed alone and that took a lot of courage.

  • Better than I could have imagined!

I really enjoyed the intimacy & storytelling style of this concert. Very personal & moving. So glad I went. What a blessing to my heart & soul!

  • So Glad I Went!

by VN on 4/14/19Balboa Theatre - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

It was such a cleverly designed and personal concert. Hard to capture in words. Truly one of the most brilliant lyricists i have ever heard, combined with being one of the best composers, guitarists/musicians and vocalists ... all warped up into a man who is humble, transparent and genuinely funny and fun. I was entertained to be sure, but i was lifted into worship and my heart greatly blessed. It is a delicate tension between his singing and his sharing about the non-profit outreach to honor their daughter, Maria. It felt like that could have been pulled back 10% to make room for a little more sharing musically, but i was not unhappy overall ... just feeling like i had been a part of something so personal and intimate, delivered by someone who could be a close friend, mentor and who is also impacting the world in a lasting, positive way. Extraordinary!

  • Good music, hard sell on the charity

by Pamela on 4/14/19Balboa Theatre - San DiegoRating: 3 out of 5

I have always loved watching Steven Curtis Chapman in concert. Even without the band he was entertaining, and it was interesting to hear about his life journey. However, I would say that out of an almost 3 hour concert including 20 minute intermission, maybe half an hour or more was devoted to him talking about his Show Hope charity. I don't mind him showing the video and telling the story. I like hearing what is behind him getting to where he is now. But I am not interested in adopting a child and do not feel led to do so. I paid a lot of money for tickets, over $100 for 2 including fees etc. I was there because of his love for music, not orphans in another country. The first part of the show was great, but the mood was sort of ruined after I felt I got the hard sell on the charity. Tell me about it and move on. But belaboring the point is frustrating. I felt the atmosphere change in the room after that and I know I'm not the only one who thought that way. I felt like a captive audience and realized in the future I will not be buying any more expensive tickets for him. He has pushed the charity in the past, but this time he really went too long. Before this the concert was going great. Overall a 3 because the mood was ruined.

  • Unexpected performance

by PJW on 4/11/19Uptown Theatre Napa - NapaRating: 3 out of 5

SCC is obviously a talented musician. I enjoyed hearing his numerous hit songs and his witty delivery. However I was disappointed by his 3 1/2 hr pre-occupation with family stories, pictures and self promotion of his book, sons’s band and his investment in China orphans. I completely believe that his passion is real and worthy but i do believe that it was taken to a level that felt a bit wrong. It was advertised as a concert but what we got was surprisingly different!

  • Wow, Perfect Christmas present ever was her remark

by Dizzie on 4/9/19Uptown Theatre Napa - NapaRating: 5 out of 5

I bought these tickets as a Christmas present for my sister and I to enjoy a ladies night out and major bonus... enjoy SCC together again. We went to a show in San Jose in the 90's and loved it. This solo show was just as wonderful. I am absolutely grateful and would recommend his solo show, as well as any show with his band. It was very special to reconnect to his music and the magnificent message it carries but to also be introduced to the Show Hope and Maria's Big House of Hope projects touched me more than I can express in words. I look forward to many more years celebrating with this fabulous artist and the inspirational gift that he's been given. Thank you for touching our hearts with your music and showing hope for the greater good.

  • Wonderful Spectacular Uplifting

by Kapable on 4/9/19Uptown Theatre Napa - NapaRating: 5 out of 5

This was the best concert we have ever been to. Steven Curtis Chapman not only shared his music with us, he shared himself with us. It was a wonderful evening of Worship. It was a glimpse of Heaven in the Real World!! We are looking forward to joining all of our forever Brothers & Sisters in Heaven, when every day will be as full of Worship as these few hours were. Thank you Brother!!

  • Intimate, inspiring and full of passion

This was my first concert with SCC and it was wonderful. He is such a warm, joyful, transparent person. He shares his passion and his personal struggle in such a way that you feel his fellowship on the rocky road of life. His story is rich and uplifting.

This solo tour was wonderful. We laughed, we cried and rejoiced with Steven Curtis Chapman. I also realized how many of him songs were a part of my spiritual journey these last many years.

  • Inspiring!

by B. on 3/10/19Times-Union Center for the Performing Arts - Terry Theater - JacksonvilleRating: 5 out of 5

We loved every minute of the concert, especially the way Steven Curtis Chapman treated the audience as special friends. Although struggling with illness, he was extremely professional and personable. What a great show! We left full of hope and happiness.

  • True Professional

by G. S. on 3/10/19Times-Union Center for the Performing Arts - Terry Theater - JacksonvilleRating: 5 out of 5

We had the VIP meet and greet tickets on the second row. Steven was gracious, warm, and friendly. He took time with each fan and engaged in sincere conversation. The first half of the show you could tell his voice was struggling but he soldiered on. After the break he came back and did The Great Adventure, but you could tell it was difficult. Then the unexpected happened; he did a request time from the audience! This not only allowed him to rest his voice, it gave us an opportunity to truly be part of the show. He finished with Cinderella which is always a favorite. The next day he posted on social media that he had to postpone his next three shows due to laryngitis! The fact that he gave his all here in Jacksonville is a huge testament to the professional he is.

  • Experience of a lifetime

by Jennifer on 3/10/19Times-Union Center for the Performing Arts - Terry Theater - JacksonvilleRating: 5 out of 5

What an amazing concert! We really enjoyed SCC in a solo capacity, sharing stories as he played. It was surprising how vibrant and full his songs could be without a full band. Hearing his heart and his stories through it was the best part.

  • Personal

    by L. on 3/6/19Center Stage Theater - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

I love that it was a small venue and that he was by himself (no band). He was free to be spontaneous and really interacted with the crowd. He walked us through the history of his music and took requests for fan favorites at the end. I’ve been following him for years, he’s the reason we have our youngest daughter from China. What an inspiration!!
