Rating: 5 out of 5 Steve Morse and Dave LaRue Rock out
by DrSkull on 1/17/10Coach House - Capistrano - San Juan CapistranoThis was not for the tame at heart. These guys played power trio fusion that had more notes played than what you would hear in a whole tour by most other bands. Incredibily well played and melodic...every note mattered! Will likely make the next few concerts I go to sound boring by comparison!
Rating: 5 out of 5by King on 1/17/10Coach House - Capistrano - San Juan Capistrano Every other year in January! It's become a tradition! Be back next NAM show.
Rating: 5 out of 5 These guys are scary good
by Robd13 on 10/29/09Jaxx Nightclub - SpringfieldSteve Morse, Dave Larue and Van Romaine are no joke. These guys can play like nobody's business. If you are a guitar player, bassist or drummer you owe it to yourself to see these guys live.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Awesome show
by mac40k on 10/29/09Jaxx Nightclub - SpringfieldSteve was amazing as always. Featured songs from the new CD, but didn't overwhelm the show with it. Lots of classic Morse and Dregs material. The band was gracious enough to hang out and autograph stuff after the show.
Rating: 5 out of 5by trialoftears on 10/28/09B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New York There is no guitarist/bassist duet than Steve Morse & Dave LaRue, that are in sync more with one another anywhere! Morse is one of the, if not THE greatest guitarist ever....what that man does with his guitar is almost impossible!!! Van Romaine drumming adds a great backbone to this trio. Only problem....you don't know who to watch more, Morse or LaRue, because you don't want to miss anything!
Rating: 4 out of 5 Good Show
by JLJLJ on 10/28/09B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New YorkSteve was quite good and Dave LaRue made things pop as usual.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Extraordinary (as Usual)
by DregAddict on 10/27/09B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New YorkTrue to form, Steve Morse and the Steve Morse Band performed at their usual extraordinary level of technical expertise and musical prowess. (I have never seen Dave Larue in better form). The set included sampling from the Dregs' earlier albums (What If), The Steve Morse Band's first album (The Introduction), as well as later material and material from the newly released CD. Their extended version of Rising Power was powerful and melodic - absolutely awesome. Hope the band returns to New York sooner than later.
Rating: 5 out of 5 The Steve Morse Band
by Spaceman64 on 10/27/09B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New YorkVIRUOSITY!!!!! Morse -- Guitar, Larue --Bass Guitar, Romaine -Drums. The trio cooked for 1 hour 45 minutes. Morse and Larue traded leads and Romaine pushed the whole band with a percussive pulse. They played several new songs from their new disc, Outstanding in Their Field. Their sound is funky jazz mixed with blue grass, blues, heavy metal, and progressive rock. I was thinking to myself that watching these musicians perform was like watching Jeter and A-Rod in the World Series. A band unmatched in talent playing to the best of their abilities.
Rating: 5 out of 5 The GOAT shows us how it's done
by Sarbo on 10/27/09B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New YorkFirst things first: Steve Morse is the Greatest Of All Time when it comes to the guitar. I don't care what anyone else says in this matter; to me, he's always been the best. I've always loved his incredibly eclectic playing style and his amazing stage presence, but he's more than just your average technical guitar shredder. Steve's songs are real SONGS, not just excuses to let rip with amazing solos. Last night Steve played music from across his varied career, ranging from funk, jazz, and rock to classical, bluegrass, country, and blues. There really doesn't seem to be a limit to the man's amazing skills with the guitar.

Rating: 5 out of 5 Steve Morse at BBKing's
by littlericky34 on 10/27/09B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New YorkExcellent. Amazing playing from all 3. My only complaint - Steve did not turn and face stage left, so while I was right at the stage I could not see his hands. They did have the screens, which helped. BBKing's knows how to run a show - extremely organized, efficient, great staff, food was great.
Rating: 3 out of 5 performance a +, sound D
by abfranklin on 10/27/09B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New YorkGreat performance. Sound was terrible - way too much bass. Not enough guitar. Feel like I missed the main part of the show.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Steve Morse Band BB King NY
by Anonymous on 10/27/09B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New YorkWell it was a long wait for the trio to come into town and it was worth it. The energy was high, the playing was superb and a free meet and greet afterwards with signing and chat made it a Steve MOrse fan delight. Do it again soon Steve, we missed you. It's like fine wine, getting better with age.

Rating: 4 out of 5 Steve Morse: A class act
by Rocky45 on 10/23/09Berklee Performance Center - BostonA great gig, plenty of variety, showmanship, and full throttle rocking. A genuine nice guy who knows the ax like his backhand.
Rating: 5 out of 5by Anonymous on 10/22/09Berklee Performance Center - Boston Steve came on as a 3 piece. Dave LaRue was clearly pumped up to be back at Berkley. Wow! I've seen Steve about 15 times and he's always fun to see. The sound mix was a little bass heavy for me, but sounded good overall. Berkley is a great place to see a show. You could hear a pin drop as Steve put on his classical guitar. Steve did several classical pieces (typical) and ended with Cruise Control (same as always). Rod and Van drummed in tandom during cruise control. Steve played multiple tracks off his new CD as well as several of his more recent CD. He also played highland wedding off of high tension wires. Steve signed items and stood for pictures after the show. I got to speak with him and he comes across as a very personably, friendly person.
Rating: 2 out of 5 Steve Morse Band was LOUD
by GotChaTooAlso on 10/22/09Berklee Performance Center - BostonMusic was not too bad when it was a quiet piece, but the rock was so loud I could not hear what was being played. Seemed loke the band was too loud to start and only got louder as the concert went on.
