About

STEVE EARLE IN CONCERT:

To hear country folk star Steve Earle live is to embark on an adventure through the musical heartland, hitting every stop along the way — from honky tonk and rockabilly to good old-fashioned Texas blues. His quirky but deeply emotional tunes are each a short story in and of themselves, carrying fans through the full gamut of emotions at his passionate live shows. On tour, he's a down-to-earth entertainer and he loves to please his fans with his hits.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

San Antonio-raised country singer Steve Earle left home as a teenager to literally follow in the footsteps of country legend Townes Van Zandt. He found a mentor in Van Zandt in Houston and spent the next few years bouncing between Texas and Nashville before releasing his now-classic debut Guitar Town. Personal struggles followed his career as his success grew, but he overcame them and prospered in their wake, releasing 13 studio albums and receiving three Grammys over the course of his career. He has become a sought after songwriter for movies and TV, and continues to take his act on the road with no signs of slowing down.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"The concert was so cool! So talented. Steve sang all of the songs we had been waiting for. And he kept coming back and singing more!"

"Steve Earle was great. His band, great as well. He played nearly three hours including all the songs I would expect to hear. It was great!"

"This was better than the Stones. You may find this hard to believe, but it is true. Steve Earle is totally amazing. His talent is not to be believed. I was enthralled from the first minute he walked onto the stage until the last minute."

Steve was great; Ticketmaster is an extra monopolistic cost

by Jhl on 8/15/21Austin City Limits Live at The Moody Theater - Austin

Steve Earle, The Mastersons, and Moody Theater we’re all great. Ticketmaster fees were simply the consequences of a monopoly extracting rents.

    Nope!

by Arcadians on 8/15/21Austin City Limits Live at The Moody Theater - Austin

We were excited to learn the venue was requiring masks since we are in the midst of the worst COVID outbreak we’ve had, but when we showed up hardly anyone was wearing masks. We left disappointed once again with humanity…and the venue.

St Andrews Hall Detroit - Steve Earle

by KAM on 7/28/19Saint Andrews Hall - Detroit

First of all, I love this venue; historic but maintained nicely, easy to get to off of the freeway, lots of parking all around, nice bathroom (I can only speak about the ladies, I don’t know about the guy’s). But mostly it’s the staff - these people are super polite and accommodating every time; it doesn’t matter what type of event, they are just so nice to everyone. This particular show had seating (general admission) - folding chairs, which I don’t think is typical for St Andrews, but it worked nicely for this event. Bars are along each side, so we were only a few feet away and that worked out well for us. As for Steve Earle - this guy is a great entertainer, always a wonderful show. He is a true professional and you can tell he loves what he’s doing. I will see him any chance that I get. St Andrews Hall was a really good venue to see him at - intimate; since with this tour he was doing some personal story telling. Overall - great night!

    Show was great.

by Earle Fan on 6/22/19Carolina Theatre - Durham

The show was great but acoustics in the theater made lyrics very hard to hear. Steve Earle is such a great story teller in song so this is important. Not sure if the theater or his techs could have helped. Still 5 stars and great show.

    Steve Always Comes To Play

by Biebs on 2/23/19Liberty Hall - Lawrence

Solo acoustic show. Steve always brings great storytelling and a supporting catalog of outstanding music. There was a little political commentary with supporting songs but was appropriate considering the current state of our country. Steve solo or with the Dukes, you can't go wrong!

    Great show in Lawrence Kansas

by Matt on 2/22/19Liberty Hall - Lawrence

Very good show at Liberty Hall in Lawrence, KS. Shannon McNally opened for Steve Earl and nailed it. Her voice is a cross between EmmyLou Harris and Lucinda Williams. Steve Earl was amazing. Just him and his guitars and it was great. I could’ve listened for 2 more hours.

consumate song writer, guitarist and performer

    by E. O. on 2/22/19Liberty Hall - Lawrence

Steve Earle performed a retrospective of his songs as well as a teaser for the new album yet to be released. He played 4 guitars and 2 mandolins. His voice is fresh and maleable from husky to clear, crisp tones. Earle's songs are a varitable history of blues, country, irish and folksy tunes from the 60's to now. This is the first time I've seen him tell his story with humor and wistfullness as well as enchant the audience with his virtuosity.

    Acoustic and Political

Acoustic and very political. If people were offended by his politics, they should have stayed home!

    Steve Delivers

by JohnLeePetimore on 4/6/18Birchmere - Alexandria

A superb show in an intimate venue. Steve did all of Copperhead Road with arrangements just like the album. Followed up with another 75 minutes of fun stuff from his catalogue.

    Great show

by KimKiss on 3/28/18Barrymore Theatre - Madison

His opening act, the Mastersons, who also played with the band, were a perfect pairing. Steve's voice was really good, much better than we expected, and the whole band was really hitting it. Very much enjoyed Steve's recollections and stories. So glad we went.

Hoyt Sherman and Steve Earle, made for each other.

by Aliasjones on 3/26/18Hoyt Sherman Place - Des Moines

What better opening act could there be than having it be members of the headliners? The Mastersons were an unexpected mini concert I’d pay to see anytime on their own. Steve mixed performing, audience interaction, hosting, and even politics in a way few can anymore. Even if you disagree with him (I don’t by the way) you weren’t offended or turned off by him. The band was just as Steve said, “The Best he’s ever toured with.” My wife and I agreed it was the best concert in the most beautiful venue we’ve seen in years!

    Classic Steve Earle

by dc7603 on 3/26/18Hoyt Sherman Place - Des Moines

Steve and the dukes sounded great from the moment the bag pipes started with the opening song of Copperhead Road right through the encore. Many great songs covered including Guitar Town, Someday, Dixieland and Girl on the Mountain. Best fiddle playing I've heard in a long time! Venue was AMAZING! Steve puts on a great show and his progressive thinking and songwriting is very refreshing in a divided world.

See Steve In His Prime w/His Best Band Yet!

by waxxtatic on 3/26/18Hoyt Sherman Place - Des Moines

Steve Earle is one of this countries musical treasures, and it shows live. Although I had just seen him last summer, another chance to see him didn't get a second thought. Earle starts the show with Copperhead Road, which is what leads off the LP that he is touring the anniversary of release. He does the entire album front to back. I've always considered Copper to be one of his weaker efforts but it does translate well live. Leading with Copperhead also gets rid of the yahoos yelling out the song title during the whole show. Steve is very talkative, told stories, and played a lengthy show. Some shows you go to and wonder when it's going to end. It never occurred during this one. You wanted more. And as he did last summer, he met with fans after the show with his band for autographs and pics. Don't skip his opening act, The Mastersons. You'll fall in love with them.

Lampedusa was a living room filled w/ honest song

by ACEPSteve on 10/6/17Moore Theatre - Seattle

The hearts and passion of their individual love of their own music, spurred each of these unique musicians to higher levels. The opening with Tom Petty’s “Refugee” was so perfect on so many levels. It was a night of magnificent music shared in these 5 musician’s living room.

    Too quiet

by Mcsherr on 10/6/17Moore Theatre - Seattle

I was hoping this was going to be fun and wanted to learn about the refugee problem but it was way too mellow and they barely addressed the reason we were there.

    Wanted more Dave Matthews

by BenServ on 10/6/17Moore Theatre - Seattle

This concert was a fundraiser for a specific cause, to help refugees in need. While all of the artists are good in their own respect, They sat in a circle and one person would each play a song and then the next person would play and so on. It was okay except everyone in the audience wanted to hear Dave play more music (it was obvious he was the favorite). Would have been nice to hear him play more than 4 songs..
