About
Counting nearly 3 billion music streams to his name, Steve Aoki is a true visionary. Billboard described the 2x-GRAMMY-nominated music producer, artist, fashion designer, entrepreneur, NFT futurist and Dim Mak Records founder as "one of the most in-demand entertainers in the world." A Guinness World Record holder for the "Most Traveled Musician in a Single Calendar Year," Aoki has performed at nearly every top festival around the world, including Coachella, Ultra Music Festival, Lollapalooza, Fuji Rock Festival, Tomorrowland and Electric Daisy Carnival.
As a globally successful cross-genre solo artist, Aoki has collaborated with an impressive list of varied artists, including BTS, Maluma, Snoop Dogg, Linkin Park, blink-182, One Direction's Louis Tomlinson, Machine Gun Kelly, Lil Uzi Vert, 2 Chainz and Daddy Yankee, on top of having released three Platinum singles, six Gold singles, and over ten Top 10 radio records. After unveiling four Neon Future albums, Aoki's highly-anticipated next album HiROQUEST: Genesis is coming out September 16th, featuring collaborations with Taking Back Sunday, Mod Sun, Kane Brown and more.
Aoki approaches each new endeavor with the same sense of dedication he's put into his past achievements, including the Grammy-nominated Netflix documentary I'll Sleep When I'm Dead (2016) and his memoir BLUE: The Color of Noise(2019). In 2012, he also founded THE AOKI FOUNDATION to support organizations in brain science and its research. His influential record label Dim Mak, which celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2021, is known for being a launching pad for the careers of prominent acts like Bloc Party, The Chainsmokers, Bloody Beetroots, The Kills, Zedd and Diplo. Most recently, Aoki created the A0K1VERSE, an NFT membership community, powered by the Passport, that welcomes his fans to both virtual and real-world experiences. Aoki is also executive producer for "American Hiro," a series in development with FX Networks directed by Jon M. Chu, chronicling the life of his father, Hiroaki "Rocky" Aoki, the legendary entrepreneur and daredevil businessman who created the Benihana empire. In whatever space Steve Aoki enters, the multi-hyphenate innovator continues to set trends and inspire creativity on a global level.

Rating: 1 out of 5 awful
by phil0000000000 on 1/2/12Shoreline Ampitheatre - Mountain ViewAoki is the most self obsessed dj i've ever seen, and i've been to over 40 edm raves/events in my life, and seen alot of djs. Who else would spin on a giant light up sign that says their own name? His music all sounds awful and the same too.

Rating: 4 out of 5 Amazing show! Not so great organisation.
by Whocaresjustreadthereview on 10/11/11Métropolis - MontrealSteve Aoki's showmanship is outstanding! The songs, the loudness, the crowd-pleasers, his actual performance - all fantastic! it's a shame i don't have the same words for the organisation. There was a change of venue. The subsequent information we've received (my friend and i) by email was erroneous. Had I not have had to call for an issue i had with regards to printing my tickets, i would not have known specifically not to show up at the time indicated. My tickets indicated the show was at 9pm, steve was on at 1am. Now I'm aware he's a DJ - they play late, etc. and frankly i don't mind this misinformation, but thankfully it was warm outside! If it hadn't this could have been a serious let down. Confirm the info on your email send outs please!! After that, ENJOY AOKI!!!!!! =D

Rating: 5 out of 5 Nooooooooo Beef!
by HurricaneHugo on 7/9/11Union Bar - Iowa CitySteve Aoki's screeching techno beats make it impossible to sit still or even focus on anything else. Even in a small bar in Iowa City, IA, it was stunning to get an ear and eyeful of the genius behind Turbulance and No Beef. Steve was a deffinite crowd pleaser and was very energetic, getting everyone to slip their groove-pants on. I was utterly shocked by the lack of attendance, especially when his Chicago shows are sold-out--but I guess that's Iowa for you. I was lucky enough to meet the man in question & get my t-shirt signed.
Rating: 4 out of 5by Anonymous on 4/23/11The Blue Note - Columbia It was a great party atmosphere, Aoki didn't even bring his whole production crew apparently. All he had was his computer and a big raft, he used the Blue Notes lights and audio system and it was still a great show.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Steve Aoki is an insane DJ!!!
by melloe on 4/22/11The Blue Note - ColumbiaThis was one of the best concerts I've been to — the beat never relented, and Aoki kept the energy high all night long.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Wowzers!!
by Anonymous on 4/19/11Roseland Ballroom - New YorkThe Steve Aoki show at Roseland was amazing!! He kept the crowd pumped up and kept the flow going strong. What an amazing performance!! And who can forget about Dada Life (who tore the house down) and Major Lazer (who put on such an unforgettable performance)!!! Overall, SUCH A GREAT SHOW!!!!!
Rating: 1 out of 5by jonnii on 4/15/11Roseland ballroom - New York I don't know if Steve Aoki was good or not because by the time he came on stage I had left out of boredom. The other times I've had the pleasure of seeing him he was fantastic, but I guess he was too busy pouring champagne on himself backstage to come out and give his fans the show they'd paid good money to see. If I had known he was going to be on so late it wouldn't have been so bad as I could have arrived later, this was purely a case of mismanaged expectations. I wish I could have my money back.
Rating: 5 out of 5 Aoki is crazy!!!!
by Dano97 on 4/13/11Roseland Ballroom - New YorkFirst time seeing aoki and he lived up to the hype tons of energy and a sick set. I came to party hard and he delivered. His trademark stage diving was awesome it's just to bad they wouldn't let him jump from the second level.
Rating: 4 out of 5 the music was great! the crowd wasn't.
by Anonymous on 4/11/11Roseland Ballroom - New YorkI'd have given this event 5 stars if there was a 21+ crowd. There were too many kids running around with no regard for the other people around them. They come to the show obliterated and do not know how to handle themselves. This was also the first electronic dance music show I've been to that physical fights broke out. Please try to make some of these dance music events 21+. Electronic dance music and a mature crowd mix much better.
Rating: 3 out of 5 5 hours between doors and Steve Aoki = fail
by nottudhcir on 4/11/11Roseland Ballroom - New YorkBy the time Aoki came on people had been chanting impatiently for him for hours and most people were beyond tired. 2am is an acceptable start time when an event starts at 11 but five hours of waiting is way too much.
Rating: 4 out of 5 AOKI what a show!
by semo85 on 4/11/11Roseland Ballroom - New YorkAll the Dj's were great, Major Lazer is a party in itself and Aoki ROCKED THE HOUSE My only problem with the show was the 18 year olds that think its fun to take extreme amounts of drugs and make fools of themselves and throw up everywhere. 18 and over shows are not on my favorite list
Rating: 3 out of 5by ankizzy on 4/11/11Roseland Ballroom - New York He was not as good as expected. He went a bit too heavy for long which, personally, made me tired but others who played along with him were way better than him according to my view point.
Rating: 5 out of 5by babesny on 4/11/11Roseland Ballroom - New York Aoki absolutely killed it Saturday night! And Roseland is by far my favorite venue for shows in the city!
Rating: 3 out of 5by dubface on 4/11/11Roseland Ballroom - New York Awesome show great opening djs but I left before the headliner aoki even came in because he didn't show till atleast after 330 am which Is when I left cause we were exhausted after getting there at 800pm
Rating: 4 out of 5 aoki
by LMA1125 on 4/11/11Roseland Ballroom - New YorkAoki is awesome. I've seen him at other venues and loved it! This show however should only be allowed for 21+. There were way to many underage sloppy kids. I would have loved the show if I weren't surrounded by amateur's night out.
Rating: 4 out of 5 Aoki rocked it
by Nicknameisdumb on 4/11/11Roseland Ballroom - New YorkAoki was good...so were his openers. If I had to say anything negative about the show I would say that it's tough when the headliner only starts his set after 2am. Also, way too many 15-17 yr. old girls acting inappropriately.
