About
STEPHEN KELLOGG IN CONCERT:
For the past two decades Americana singer-songwriter Stephen Kellogg has been warming hearts with his genuine lyrics, gentle guitar strumming, and inspiring live performances. Kellogg’s uplifting music is a reflection of his charitable spirit – he’s performed for American troops overseas, and every year he donates proceeds from his music to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. This same compassionate generosity permeates his live concerts, and the communal atmosphere he creates when he performs makes emotional songs like “Thanksgiving” and “Satisfied Man” all the more powerful. Paste Magazine called his 2016 album South, West, North, East “a triumph”, and ticket buyers lucky enough to experience the new material in concert will undoubtedly be moved by Kellogg’s infectious warmth and positivity.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Pennsylvania-born Stephen Kellogg began performing as a singer-songwriter in the mid-‘90s after interning at a music venue in Northampton, MA. He released several albums in the late ‘90s but really hit his stride in 2003 when he formed Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers. Over the better part of the next decade Kellogg and the Sixers became an Americana mainstay, releasing five albums and playing more than 1000 shows before disbanding in 2012. Since then Kellogg has continued to record and perform both solo and with former members of the Sixers. In 2013 he released the album Blunderstone Rookery, and later that year he gave a TED Talk on the subject of job satisfaction. For his 2016 album South, West, North, East Kellogg recorded each section of the album with producers and musicians from different regions of the US, and the result was a wildly diverse collection that showcased the many facets of his considerable songwriting talents.

by ShayBrase on 11/4/09Duck Room at Blueberry Hill - St LouisThis was my second time to see Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers. They are promoting their new album (The Bear) and do a great job keeping everyone involved in the music... even those who have not had the chance to hear the new music. These guys are amazing in person and keep the energy up throughout the whole show. SK jumped right to the entrance at the end of the show to take pictures with and sign autographs for the fans. This won't be my last Stephen Kellogg show!

by SheraOO7 on 11/3/09Duck Room at Blueberry Hill - St LouisStephen Kellogg and the Sixers, once again, put on an unforgettable show. The intimacy of the Duck Room at BlueBerry Hill makes their shows even more amazing. SK6RS give every ounce of themselves in every show I've seen - and I've seen them in concert for at least the last 5 years - even when they would travel to Orlando and I'd be 1 of 7 people in the audience, it was still high intensity, still high energy, still giving the audience everything they had. You can tell they love to play music, and they just have fun. Love Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers!!!!!

by Musicgirl18 on 11/1/09Water Street Music Hall - RochesterThe Sixers are amazing!!! I've been to six shows and they never dissappoint. They did a Halloween set as Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers (hysterical) and then their own music. Stephen's lyrics are just so raw and honest and he has the best lyric "one liners" of any musician I've heard. He truly cares about the fans and in addition to his amazing talent is in music for all the right reasons. It's a shame that the Sixers aren't blaring out of every radio, but then again... most good music never is. If you have not experienced the Sixers, you are missing out. The talent, energy, passion, anecdotes and extreme musicianship you experience will have you standing in awe and begging for more.

by Anonymous on 11/1/09Water Street Music Hall - RochesterThis show was absolutely unforgettable! The Tom Petty and the heartbreakers costumes and covers were awesome! Free falling was an incredible moment. The band seems so down to earth, coming out into the crowd and meeting with the fan afterwards. But most importantly it was a great night of music. Cant wait to see the Sixers again!
