STEPHEN KELLOGG IN CONCERT:

For the past two decades Americana singer-songwriter Stephen Kellogg has been warming hearts with his genuine lyrics, gentle guitar strumming, and inspiring live performances. Kellogg’s uplifting music is a reflection of his charitable spirit – he’s performed for American troops overseas, and every year he donates proceeds from his music to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. This same compassionate generosity permeates his live concerts, and the communal atmosphere he creates when he performs makes emotional songs like “Thanksgiving” and “Satisfied Man” all the more powerful. Paste Magazine called his 2016 album South, West, North, East “a triumph”, and ticket buyers lucky enough to experience the new material in concert will undoubtedly be moved by Kellogg’s infectious warmth and positivity.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Pennsylvania-born Stephen Kellogg began performing as a singer-songwriter in the mid-‘90s after interning at a music venue in Northampton, MA. He released several albums in the late ‘90s but really hit his stride in 2003 when he formed Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers. Over the better part of the next decade Kellogg and the Sixers became an Americana mainstay, releasing five albums and playing more than 1000 shows before disbanding in 2012. Since then Kellogg has continued to record and perform both solo and with former members of the Sixers. In 2013 he released the album Blunderstone Rookery, and later that year he gave a TED Talk on the subject of job satisfaction. For his 2016 album South, West, North, East Kellogg recorded each section of the album with producers and musicians from different regions of the US, and the result was a wildly diverse collection that showcased the many facets of his considerable songwriting talents.

by SK6ERSFan on 11/17/15Bowery Ballroom - New York

I've been going to Stephen Kellogg's Bowery show since the year after it started and I must say, this was one of the most energetic and fun concerts I've ever been to of his. I always love the Bowery show but this year was something special. Keep it up SK!!

    Great show in great venue

by ChrisofBoston on 11/16/15The Sinclair - Cambridge

Stephen Kellogg puts on a thoroughly entertaining and heartfelt performance. He speaks to the audience and tells stories with his lyrics and music. His recorded music is good but his live performances are such an amazing experience. The Sinclair is a great place to see a show.

Great show with tons of energy

by BostonCSfan on 11/16/15The Sinclair - Cambridge

I have to admit I was nervous to go to the show without the sixers but Stephen was amazing and put together a great group of musicians! The entire show was great, the woman had an amazing voice and having stand up base and violin were great additions to the sound and show. I would absolutely recommend this show to anyone who likes live music.

    Amazing Night and Wonderful Show

by QuincyConcertGoer on 11/16/15The Sinclair - Cambridge

With the exception of a couple rowdy concert-goers, this event was wonderful! The new songs by Stephen Kellogg were amazing and his concert was heart felt and emotional as always with his fan favorites mixed in as well. Anyone who has the opportunity should jump at the chance to see him perform live!

Phenomenal performance on a heavy day

by LifeLongSKFan on 11/16/15The Sinclair - Cambridge

Just hours before the SK concert we heard about the terror in Paris. Not only did SK give tribute to the unthinkable events in Paris, but he insisted that we have a powerful moment of silence. I am blessed to have been in a room with such love for humanity and a performer who cares about society more than music. SK engages his audience and is a genuine performer!

    Immortal Music

by SnowChrist on 12/2/13The Sinclair - Cambridge

The new album Stephen Kellogg made and is touring to support, has so many different gems you think you've heard them all before, but you haven't, and this only happens when songs turn out perfect - you suddenly believe you heard it on the radio because it's that unique, PRECISE, catchy, and ultimately, TIMELESS, especially with these songs of lyrical depth and expansion. The 5th track on the new album "Blunderstone Rookery", "Crosses", speaks "the river and the train, so different but the same, they were just gettin where they need to go, decorations out a car window". The description is alive, and flowing, like a river's current or a train's momentum, so many different pictures being linked together to build lyrical scenery. And at last, maybe it was just a passing glimpse of something that reminds you of a holiday, or an American Flag.

    Awesome show, amazing venue.

    by MB84 on 11/25/13The Sinclair - Cambridge

Caroline Brooks was an amazing opener and it was great to see some new talent. SK killed it per usual. I have never seen a bad show from him regardless if he is playing with the Sixers, solo or with the band he had around him last night. His passion for the music is awesome and it was great to hear some of the newer tunes as well as the classics. The Sinclair is a great place to see a show and I cannot wait to go back.

Kellogg's for Breakfast lunch and dinner

    by Brooksy22 on 11/25/13The Sinclair - Cambridge

Stephen Kellogg is a road and music veteran and it shows in his performance. From start to finish the entertainment never stops and everyone in the audience has a seat for the ride. He'll make you laugh, cry, and most importantly make you feel something you probably never have at a love concert. Everybody is connected together at a Kellogg show with Stephen himself being the tour guide through songs of love and hard times, but the future is always bright and he makes you see that. He doesn't hide away from being one of us, a regular guy at heart. But he is also a rockstar through and through, channelling his inner def leppard and gene Simmons tricks into unforgettable magic with a white suit and acoustic Gibson guitar. Take your friends, take your family, and take your hearts, for they will be filled with "All Love, Future's Bright"

Steve Kellogg and Band were great.

by Rosie60 on 10/21/13Fine Line Music Cafe - Minneapolis

Steve did a great show. I was pleasantly surprised when he had the Band with him. I was expecting him to be solo. I was glad the Band was with him. I really enjoyed the show. He is a great as song writer and musician. I feel he is genuinely happy to entertain the crowd with the same enthusiasm whether it's a large or small group. Would definitively see him again.

    Intimate and Amazing

by Rasturg on 5/18/10The Basement - Columbus

The Basement is a small club but the Sixers played their hearts out and every song was even better live. They ended the show by playing See You Later, See you Soon in the middle of the crowd. Incredible.

Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers deliver once again!

by Pamijo on 5/18/10The Basement - Columbus

Show was worth the 3 1/2 hour drive. They are so entertaining and talented young men. Still can't believe more people don't know who they are. Since Columbus was the last night of their spring tour and the fact they had to be exhausted I thought the show was great. Looking forward to seeing them in Pittsburgh soon.

    SK6ers rock the house down

    by kdog41 on 3/25/10Shank Hall - Milwaukee

I remember when I saw Springsteen and the E Street band live I said to myself that I would never see a show with that much energy ever again--I was wrong. Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers put on an incredible show at Shank Hall last night. No matter if they sped it up or slowed it down the music was incredibly powerful. A combination of great song writing and undeniable musicianship made for an unforgettable experience. Every person owns it to themselves to check this band out live at least once in their lifetime!

Stephen Kellogg & the Sixers Concert at Shank Hall

by MStein on 3/25/10Shank Hall - Milwaukee

You will not see a better show than Stephen Kellogg & the Sixers. They are consumate performers and are superb musicians with each being able to play multiple instruments. Stephen's voice aches with his life experiences. His songs are deeply personal but distill the elements of the human condition to make them relateable to everyone. The concert showcased the talents of each musician and gave each one a chance to shine. This is a tight-knit group of performers who interact well together and feed off the energy of the crowd and one another to give a fantastic performance. The great thing about this band is that they excel musically, so that each of their songs is different. They are not formulaic. They spend time crafting unique songs and music. They cover the range from ballads to harder edge music. They can play fun, audience participation numbers and then play deeply personal, soulful songs that really affect the listener emotionally. If you haven't seen this band play live, find out where they are playing and go.

    Shank Hall

by AmyChgo on 3/25/10Shank Hall - Milwaukee

Stephen Kellogg & The Sixers- if you don't know this band by now...SHAME ON YOU! Tonight's show was especially amazing since they were the headliners. An hour and one half of pure musical genius. The older more seasoned fans got quite the treat when the guys decided to play many songs off their previous album such as Sef-Titled, Glassjaw Boxer and even the RARE South of Stephen. Matched with their willingness to meet every fan and sign anything and everything, these guys are just all around amazing. You want a good time? GO SEE THEM!!!!
