Dear Starset, I miss you so much. I drive 9 1/2 to see you and I would do it over and over again.
I love this band and haven’t been able to see them live in over 6 years so really looked forward to this show, but sadly it was a let down as we could only hear lead singer 1/3 of the time. The bass was ridiculous and overpowered everything whether it was guitars or drums. Then add in the smoke and other sounds, I wasn’t hearing the lyrics. Why go to a show if you can’t hear the songs. Their immersive experience is a great idea and brought back memories of Queensryche “Operation Mindcrime” but I could hear Geoff Tate and the rest of the band clearly. I recorded several videos to see if I was having a bad night and nope the videos are all the base and sound effects as you hear Dustin’s voice shine every so often. Their sound team failed eveyone sitting in the balcony at The Astro which costs more. Great visuals, but I came for music. Audio Mix Fail
A night of pure Starset. A five album era wrapped into a seamless audio and visual experience like no other. From the 2-tier stage setup to the bands stage presence we were treated to seeing each member playing throughout the night. Alongside our ears, we got a completely immersive visual stimuli courtesy of accompanied video between songs. The video story told echoed the songs surrounding it. Overall it was a phenomenal event. No need for an opener. In fact an opener would have just taken away from the Starset experience. As far as the venue goes, I was impressed. It was built for sound production. It’s a new venue and you can tell by the quality of everything about it. I cannot wait to see them again. Never will I say that I have seen them too many times, as each time gets better and better!
Saw these guys several years ago for an acoustic set after listening to them for years. Made it a goal to see them perform a full-production performance and it met all expectations! The stage and multi-layered approach they used to play their songs was wild! They had the entire crowd singing, crowd surfing, and moshing during certain songs. Each of the band members is a master of their craft, and they bring it into a meaningful show that’ll have you looking forward to the next time that you see them!
I have seen this band at least 10 times and this show was phenomenal! The AI and effects really made the story and music come to life. I loved that the movie snippets and songs went along with his latest book, which also rocks. Sound and music were awesome. This band is amazing! Love Dustin and company.
The production was awesome! Excellent experience! Definitely recommend
I had a blast, their production and the storytelling is so good, I wish I could go to their concert more. I am hoping to go again next year!!!
Words cannot describe how amazing this concert was. It wasn't just a concert, it was an experiance! 10/10 for totally worth it! I highly recommend.
If you have never been to a STARSET demonstration...even if you have...this is the one to see! This band is like nothing else ...and I have seen literally hundreds of shows Holographic images, the story, a movie, the music, the costumes, and a crowd full of "messengers"... The band itself has dynamic, talented members, including a cellist and violinist, both of whom happen to be women. Brock wearing the gas mask during Tok Sik was awesome, and Dustin's rap ...but who could have just one favorite part? And, if you get the opportunity, do the VIP meet and greet...you won't ever meet a band of nicer people! Just GO.
First time going to a concert with friends. Huge fan of starset. Loved the whole production and everything was amazing.
If you get the chance, don’t miss this band live!!
Unbelievable show! Their presentation was outstanding, keeping the crowd involved every second of the performance. They definitely work hard for their fans, and it comes across as genuine appreciation. Their stage hands have a huge job, and they execute it well, which is key for such a big visual display. Can't wait to see them again!!!
STARSET is just as good in person as their recordings! My only criticism would be they need to turn the singers mic up! Dustin has an incredible voice but could barely be heard over anything else! The rest of the band is amazing and could also be listened to fully instrumental. Their entire show is much more interactive than any other concert I’ve been to, and it was such a cool new experience!
Man, seeing my favorite band (STARSET) demonstration was so surreal. It was much more than I anticipated in terms of the experience. Excited to see them again soon!
My best friend and I came to see STARSET in Raleigh on 9/17, and it was absolutely incredible! The venue felt so safe, there were staff everywhere who were very friendly and helpful. We’ve been huge fans of STARSET for years, and the performance was unbelievably amazing. I would gladly come to another show at the Ritz.
STARSET puts on a show few other bands could pull off. Their theme of science and technology tied into the shows theme of fighting tyranny splendidly. Their music speaks for itself, with its futuristic yet relatable themes. I would recommend any rock or sci-fi fan to go to one of their shows.
Other then the confusion on the merch line it was awesome
it was amazing from everything to the lights and the storyline and the performance was off the charts definitely want to go to another one and definitely get a VIP
Starset's concert was among the most unique shows we have seen. It contained a mix of holographic images, and visual storytelling of a dystopian society, presented by these talented musicians. The venue was clean and had plenty of staff available to assist patrons. The only critique would be the merchandise counter needed to place the display higher on the wall, so people waiting in line could see the items better and decide on their purchases before reaching the counter, thereby allowing the line to move faster.
