St. Louis Blues History

Named for the famous W.C. Handy song "Saint Louis Blues," the Blues is one of the most storied franchises in the NHL. They entered the league in 1967, making the Stanley Cup Final in each of their first three seasons. They reached the Playoffs in 25 consecutive seasons from 1980 to 2005, including in 1999-2000, when right wing Pavol Demitra and defensemen Al MacInnis led the way to a league-best 114 points, only to be upset by the San Jose Sharks in the first round of the Playoffs.

Recent history has provided its share of fireworks. Most memorable: Troy Brouwer's deciding goal in Game 7 of the 2016 Western Conference quarterfinals against the rival Blackhawks, which sent the Blues to the Western Conference Finals for the first time in 15 years.

In 2018-2019, the Blues went on an impressive Playoff run to meet the Boston Bruins in the Stanley Cup Final, where St. Louis won in seven games for the team's first Cup in franchise history.

  • I'll be back!

by DexterChief on 4/16/13Scottrade Center - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

My last minute trip was great! I'd never been to St Louis & everything was easy to find. I arrived in town within :30 minutes of the hockey match and drove straight to excellent parking at a reasonable price in the Union Station lot. It was great to see the mass of fans in their colors converging on the Scottrade Center on such a beautiful sunny day. The streets lined with blooming dogwoods put it over the top. The venue was sold out and Blues fans really get behind their team! Everything was pleasant and organized. No long lines and all of the staff at the door, beverage & concession vendors were friendly and helpful. I wouldn't hesitate to attend another event at the center & will definitely recommend the venue to friends visiting St Louis!

  • Nice arena to watch a hockey game.

    by ChrisD44 on 4/16/13Scottrade Center - St LouisRating: 4 out of 5

Took the 4hr trip down to St. Louis from Chicago's southwest suburbs and enjoyed a Blackhawks win in a pretty decent barn. Food was ok, beer was expensive as expected but it's all about the experience and the atmosphere, which was great.

Awesome game against the Wild. It was very exciting right until the end 4 on 6 defending the power play and scoring an empty net goal to win 3-1. Loved every minute of it!! Go Blues!!!

Unexpectedly lack of engagement from St.Louis Blues fans.

  • Scottrade Center is a wonderful hockey venue

by MavStarFan on 3/20/13Scottrade Center - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

My first time to attend a St. Louis Blues game at the Scottrade Center and I was impressed with arena and the Blues fans. Our seats have a great view of the ice. The Blues fans are serious hockey fans and they don't like people standing up while there is action on the ice. So if you need to get up from your seat, wait until there is a break on the ice or you will be reminded politely to stay seated until there is a break. I am a Dallas Stars season ticket holder, so praise another NHL teams fans and arena should tell you something.

  • Blues Awesome

I had never been to a hockey game before and neither had my boyfriend. We were clueless to the rules but we didn't mind. I bought him tickets for his birthday and we will definitely go back. So much fun!

  • Let's Go Blues

    by BleedBlue13 on 3/18/13Scottrade Center - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

Any Blues game is a blast, but when they take the team with the 2nd most points to O.T. and then Chris Stewart buries one with a nice move and backhander, it's unforgettable. Go Blues!
