St. Louis Blues History

Named for the famous W.C. Handy song "Saint Louis Blues," the Blues is one of the most storied franchises in the NHL. They entered the league in 1967, making the Stanley Cup Final in each of their first three seasons. They reached the Playoffs in 25 consecutive seasons from 1980 to 2005, including in 1999-2000, when right wing Pavol Demitra and defensemen Al MacInnis led the way to a league-best 114 points, only to be upset by the San Jose Sharks in the first round of the Playoffs.

Recent history has provided its share of fireworks. Most memorable: Troy Brouwer's deciding goal in Game 7 of the 2016 Western Conference quarterfinals against the rival Blackhawks, which sent the Blues to the Western Conference Finals for the first time in 15 years.

In 2018-2019, the Blues went on an impressive Playoff run to meet the Boston Bruins in the Stanley Cup Final, where St. Louis won in seven games for the team's first Cup in franchise history.

  • Blues vs Ducks

    by Good7 on 1/23/14Scottrade Center - St LouisRating: 4 out of 5

Great section, super view of the ice. Had a good time. In almost all sporting events the bottom line is "did your team win or make a game of it during the contest" well it did not happen, so I was disappointed. Going down 3 zip in the second period was a downer as a come back was not likely against the Ducks. The Blues did make a semi game of it with 2 goals in the third period. Due to the price of hockey tickets and the fact I had not gone to a game in several yrs. I stuck it out and stayed. Approx 20,000 were at the game but no issues leaving. I would go again, just wished for a better game but that is the luck of the draw. I go to Cardinals games and if the tickets for the Blues were cheaper I would try to take in more but with a semi high seat at $75 that's not going to happen my $30 Cardinals tickets are a better value.

Great time, my dad told me on the way home that it was the 1st time he'd been to a game since 1979, which sounds crazy considering all the hockey I remember watch at home as a kid. Definately good time with my dad.

  • T-Shirt Tuesday Fun

by FishBait on 1/17/14Scottrade Center - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

Everything went smoothly with the ticketmaster order. The tickets arrived on time. I expected that to pick up the T-shirts would be a mad house.......just the opposite happened. The staff at the table were sufficient to handle the customers. They were polite, friendly, and they had our sizes. My wife and children had not attended an NHL game and we had a great time that evening.

We loved the view..seats were small. Very easy to find..they were right in front of the entrance we came in. An usher was there to tell us where to find our seats once we entered the arena. Loved the excitement and enthusiasm of the people.

  • Game was awesome and exciting!

    by MelD99 on 1/6/14Scottrade Center - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

had a great time with the family at the game, the only thing that could have been a little better was the concession stand wait times. I understand it's busy but I think I stood in line for 25 minutes before the line even moved.

  • Blackhawks vs. Blues

by Waldomania on 12/31/13Scottrade Center - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

Great game, very good seats for the money . . . Standing room only!

  • by Anonymous on 12/22/13Scottrade Center - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

it was my first hokey match in several years. the seats were amazing, close to the ice and behind the goal. everyone was friendly and helpful. my only concern is that the concessions were too expensive. i'm not sure how a family can afford the tickets and also the price of a hot dog and a drink.

  • Nice venue for hockey

by Chromatium on 12/22/13Scottrade Center - St LouisRating: 4 out of 5

The Montreal Canadiens are the most storied team in ice hockey, but unfortunately, they were but a shadow of their former selves in the recent game with the Blues. The game has changed a lot, and most of it not for the better. For example, the college hockey strategy of "dump and chase" is now taken over in the pros. What happened to the constant passing and movement of the old teams? The Scott Trade Center is a very nice venue for hockey. However, the digital blitzkrieg is so overwhelming as to be bothersome. Something is always blinking. The scoreboard is a distraction with all the stuff going on.

  • Blues VS Ducks

    by DBG55 on 12/11/13Scottrade Center - St LouisRating: 4 out of 5

Enjoyed going to a Blues game, but they lost. Had a good time anyway. Would go with the family package again.

A blues game is always a great time, even when they end up losing like they did against Anaheim. Especially love the atmosphere in the arena, as the St. Louis fans are really passionate about their team. It's my fifth game this season and won't be the last, plan on many more.
