St. Louis Blues History

Named for the famous W.C. Handy song "Saint Louis Blues," the Blues is one of the most storied franchises in the NHL. They entered the league in 1967, making the Stanley Cup Final in each of their first three seasons. They reached the Playoffs in 25 consecutive seasons from 1980 to 2005, including in 1999-2000, when right wing Pavol Demitra and defensemen Al MacInnis led the way to a league-best 114 points, only to be upset by the San Jose Sharks in the first round of the Playoffs.

Recent history has provided its share of fireworks. Most memorable: Troy Brouwer's deciding goal in Game 7 of the 2016 Western Conference quarterfinals against the rival Blackhawks, which sent the Blues to the Western Conference Finals for the first time in 15 years.

In 2018-2019, the Blues went on an impressive Playoff run to meet the Boston Bruins in the Stanley Cup Final, where St. Louis won in seven games for the team's first Cup in franchise history.

  • Well Played by Both Team

by Morningpreson on 12/1/14Scottrade Center - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

This is the second time my daughter and I attended a Blues game. We enjoyed both game. I was glad to see both teams play a full game. Edmonton not give up and Blues never give up. Like the hard win games. Way to go Blues. Would get seasons tickets if I lived in the area.

  • Fun Experience, Big Mac Coupons difficult

    by DKB1234567 on 11/11/14Scottrade Center - St LouisRating: 4 out of 5

I'll start with the bad news and get it out of the way. The ticket package includes 4 tickets, 4 hot dogs, 4 sodas, 2 pop corns and 4 big mac coupons. They give you all of the tickets and vouchers together at the same time. What I did not realize is that after you pick up your big mac vouchers, you then have to go to guest services and turn them in for coupons. Why can't they give you the coupons right there? Of course the voucher, which you can then exchange for the coupon, must be exchanged that day. They need to make that easier. It would have been a five star rating if the Big Mac situation were easier. Enough about the big macs. The food was enough to feed us all. The seats were about 7 rows from the top, but it was the end that the Blues shoot twice and the view is GREAT. Hockey is a sport that is 10 times easier to watch live. It is so easy to follow the puck. You can hear all of the sounds in the game throughout the arena. The puck hitting the stick and the checks along the boards resound throughout the arena. I brought 3 boys ages 10-11-12 and they were all entertained the entire game. The Blues lost 2-1 which was a bummer, but we still had a great time.

  • Awesome hockey game

One of the best positional games I ever saw the Blues play in person. They shut out the Ducks in grand style by clearing a puck on the Blues goal line in the last minute of the game to record a shutout for Jake Allen. I think Allen is going to be a good back up for Elliot.

  • Well...WE were there and had fun!

by BurritoBrother on 11/2/14Scottrade Center - St LouisRating: 4 out of 5

Lots of empty seats on Thursday night when the Blues beat the Ducks 2-0. We were pretty lonely up there in the top row at mid-ice but had a great time as Jake Allen put on a show and earned the #1 star.

  • Hockey is Intense

Game was fun even though my team lost!! The Blues fans around us were friendly and welcomed us to their city. Oh yes, there were a few hecklers after the game was over. Not very nice!! Our seats were super and we had fun!!

  • by hawksfan1922 on 10/29/14Scottrade Center - St LouisRating: 4 out of 5

The game was great! I loved seeing all of those Blackhawks fans in St. Louis at a Blues game. I was a little worried that I would be the only Hawks fan, but I was really glad about 1/3 of the crowd loved the Hawks. I didn't like that the Blues fans said Blues at the end of the National Anthem instead of "brave" I think it was a bit disrespectful, but it seemed like it was an accepted Blues tradition. I did get a little lost on my way back to my car, which I had parked at Union Station. I had great seats!

Great time. I love every minute of it.I would go again.

  • St. Louis Blues vs. Chicago Blackhawks

    by namvet71 on 10/28/14Scottrade Center - St LouisRating: 4 out of 5

Except for some of the Blues fans being jerks, it was an enjoyable evening out even if the Blackhawks didn't win. It was embarrassing for the guy sitting next to us (a Blues fan) who brought his young son. It's a shame you can't bring a young kid to a hockey game without subjecting him to this type of poor behavior exhibited by some of the Blues fans.

  • Great game - Blues and Blackhawks

by Anonymous on 10/28/14Scottrade Center - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

The seats were great, the crowd was into the game. Always a great rivalry when the Blues and Blackhawks get together.

  • Blues got lucky

    by jc010 on 10/28/14Scottrade Center - St LouisRating: 3 out of 5

Hey it's only October I guess. Hawks should end up the better team.

  • by Jo310 on 10/27/14Scottrade Center - St LouisRating: 4 out of 5

Excellent seats and the games are always a blast. The seats were perfect fkr watching the game. Level was not so low there were obstructions and not too high.

  • Great game, great fans, not-so-great venue.

by RyanSTL on 10/27/14Scottrade Center - St LouisRating: 3 out of 5

Views from seats are good but there are no TVs showing the game in concessions area. I didn't see a single one, seriously. All of the TV's are used for menus! Pahaha! It really wasn't funny though. Food selection was terrible, Scottrade apparently hasn't noticed the event concessions game has picked up quite a bit. Guys, I'll pay even more for good food!
