St. Louis Blues History

Named for the famous W.C. Handy song "Saint Louis Blues," the Blues is one of the most storied franchises in the NHL. They entered the league in 1967, making the Stanley Cup Final in each of their first three seasons. They reached the Playoffs in 25 consecutive seasons from 1980 to 2005, including in 1999-2000, when right wing Pavol Demitra and defensemen Al MacInnis led the way to a league-best 114 points, only to be upset by the San Jose Sharks in the first round of the Playoffs.

Recent history has provided its share of fireworks. Most memorable: Troy Brouwer's deciding goal in Game 7 of the 2016 Western Conference quarterfinals against the rival Blackhawks, which sent the Blues to the Western Conference Finals for the first time in 15 years.

In 2018-2019, the Blues went on an impressive Playoff run to meet the Boston Bruins in the Stanley Cup Final, where St. Louis won in seven games for the team's first Cup in franchise history.

  • Trip to St. Louis

    by kj8789 on 1/19/15Scottrade Center - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

Went to St. Louis to watch the Blues play the Wings and Leafs. Wings game would have been better if the Blues won (lost with 2 seconds left in OT). Two nights later the Blues shutout the Leafs. Yay! Stayed at the Doubletree by Hilton at Union Station. Gorgeous hotel! You have to see the light show that occurs hourly on the ceiling of the Grand Lobby every night. Unreal! Hit 3 spots to eat in the 4 days we were there. Joe Bucks - great food, a tad pricey, but we were full when we left. Definitely would go back again. Maggie O'Brien's was right next to the hotel so we went twice. Smoked wings are to die for! Drink specials and really good food with big portions. Limited menu on Blues game day because the place gets PACKED 1-2 hours before the game. Watched the Packers choke at Ballpark Village. The place is huge with tons of seating in the main section, 5-6 more restaurants in the complex and live broadcasting by Fox Sports Midwest. You have to experience Ballpark Village when you're in St. Louis. There isn't a lot to do right downtown unless you plan on walking, so pack your runners, or rent a car. Also, you can't visit St. Louis without going up the Jefferson Memorial Arch. Fabulous views in all directions got us some really nice pictures. Lastly, EVERYONE in St. Louis that we saw or walked past or spoke to, was REALLY friendly. Can't wait to go back!

  • Good seats! Great Benefits!

Seeing a Blues game in the Club level works for us. It's unfortunate that they moved most of the food to the Bud Light Zone. It was just convenient to get the food at the seat, but it probably eliminates a lot of wasted food.

First time at this stadium Nice stadium with a lot of food spots and shopping location for apparel. They had nice location with fresh cooked pasta and stir fry in front of you. A nice place to take in a game.

    by doc1807 on 1/16/15Scottrade Center - St LouisRating: 3 out of 5

It stated all you can eat, but it was hot dogs, chips with cheese sauce and popcorn. Not the best food and it only lasted till the 2nd period started. Would have been better if we knew these things in advance. My fault for not looking better.

  • Great game - bad view

by MJRmom on 1/13/15Scottrade Center - St LouisRating: 3 out of 5

I bought tickets to the Blues game for myself, husband and 11-year old daughter. We saw a GREAT GAME! Well, we saw 1/2 of a great game. We were in section 102, which is 6 rows off the ice and near an end. Anytime the play was on the other end of the ice, my daughter and I could not see what was going on and had to watch it on a tv screen - I didn't pay that much money to watch a game on TV! You live and learn, and now I know to buy seats higher in the arena

The game environment and the fans were amazing. Fans were into the game and the players fed off the energy. This was Martin Brodeur's 125th shutout victory. The fans recognized it and gave him a warm reception recognizing the accomplishment. The fans were knowledgable and their love for the team is infectious. Fans were also very accepting and willing to answer questions. Great place to see a game with family. We bought the family pack tickets and went straight to the customer service in sec. 118, I think and they gave us our Mcd's Big Mac coupons and told us how to redeem the drink and food vouchers. The stadium staff were very helpful and willing to answer questions, and more importantly very friendly and sweet of my two year old son. My little boy loved the game. If there was a drawback, the seats are a little cramped to have my two year old on my lap because I was afraid of disturbing the folks ahead of me. Otherwise, my family enjoyed the game so much we can't wait to go back. We have converted to a huge blues fan family.

I'm a season ticket holder (weekend pass) and took advantage of the promotional offer and brought my four teenage nephews to the game on Thursday against Islanders. It was their first Blues game for three of them. During the first period they were a bit reserved taking it all in but by the third they were on their feet cheering the Blues on like the rest of us. The crowd enthusiasm at Scottrade always makes for a great experience. Great night and exciting win!
