St. Louis Blues History

Named for the famous W.C. Handy song "Saint Louis Blues," the Blues is one of the most storied franchises in the NHL. They entered the league in 1967, making the Stanley Cup Final in each of their first three seasons. They reached the Playoffs in 25 consecutive seasons from 1980 to 2005, including in 1999-2000, when right wing Pavol Demitra and defensemen Al MacInnis led the way to a league-best 114 points, only to be upset by the San Jose Sharks in the first round of the Playoffs.

Recent history has provided its share of fireworks. Most memorable: Troy Brouwer's deciding goal in Game 7 of the 2016 Western Conference quarterfinals against the rival Blackhawks, which sent the Blues to the Western Conference Finals for the first time in 15 years.

In 2018-2019, the Blues went on an impressive Playoff run to meet the Boston Bruins in the Stanley Cup Final, where St. Louis won in seven games for the team's first Cup in franchise history.

This is the third season in a row my wife and I have gone to watch the wings play in St Louis. We've never had a bad experience. The staff is always helpful, the fans are always kind, and the game is always great! We will more than likely go back every season.

In St. Louis visiting my daughter's family. Had a great time in the city. This was my first time to see the inside of Scott Trade Center. I was very impressed! The 3 of us were wearing our Red Wing sweaters and sat right next to the visitors bench. Fantastic seats! We'll be back for more. Too bad the Wings don't play the Blues as often as they used too.

  • Get there early

by Frankoram on 10/30/15Scottrade Center - St LouisRating: 3 out of 5

If you plan on parking on any paid lot you need to get there early! Backed up on hwy 40 with little to no movement, why? No cops assisting with traffic. No communications when lots are full. Gridlock! Ended up parking on the street several blocks away illegally. Fortunately no ticket and no tow. Missed half the 1st period. No free beer stein. Way to late. If it weren't for the shovel girls during commercial time-outs, it would not have been worth all the trouble. :)

  • Blues win the 2015-16 home opener!!!!

by GMCBULLGOD on 10/12/15Scottrade Center - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

The St. Louis Blues 2015-16 home opener was amazing. Opening night is always a special night- but they added local youth hockey players to the celebration. Every Blues starting player was introduced with a youth hockey player on the ice. This will definitely be an unforgettable experience for those lucky 20 kids.

Great experience. The Blues fans were so respectful and kind. I was 1 of maybe 100 Wild fans and 19,500 Blues fans. Thrilled that my team won this one but I was treated with the utmost respect .
