St. Louis Blues History

Named for the famous W.C. Handy song "Saint Louis Blues," the Blues is one of the most storied franchises in the NHL. They entered the league in 1967, making the Stanley Cup Final in each of their first three seasons. They reached the Playoffs in 25 consecutive seasons from 1980 to 2005, including in 1999-2000, when right wing Pavol Demitra and defensemen Al MacInnis led the way to a league-best 114 points, only to be upset by the San Jose Sharks in the first round of the Playoffs.

Recent history has provided its share of fireworks. Most memorable: Troy Brouwer's deciding goal in Game 7 of the 2016 Western Conference quarterfinals against the rival Blackhawks, which sent the Blues to the Western Conference Finals for the first time in 15 years.

In 2018-2019, the Blues went on an impressive Playoff run to meet the Boston Bruins in the Stanley Cup Final, where St. Louis won in seven games for the team's first Cup in franchise history.

  • Great Playoff Hockey!

    by Jerry13 on 4/16/16Scottrade Center - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

Good playoff hockey between two really good teams. Throwin gthe intangibles of refs who "see" something or toatally ignore something and you have an exciting game.

  • LGB!

The game was absolutely amazing! We had amazing seats and a great experience. It was our first Blues game and we didn't know what to expect but we left more than thrilled. It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life and I will definitely be returning.

  • Great facility, fantastic game

by DomperP on 4/4/16Scottrade Center - St LouisRating: 4 out of 5

Went to see my beloved Bruins and what a game it turned out to be. Scottrade Center is a great facility for shows and games. Had seats in the upper level, but with clear view of the goal, since this game was 6-5 for the Bruins, I got to see many of those fairly close.

  • Fantastic Seats

by FlashZ on 3/16/16Scottrade Center - St LouisRating: 4 out of 5

If you are going to sit in the corner, and pay the premium game ticket price, I highly recommend Sec. 332, Row A. You get a little extra room for your legs and can lean forward on the partial glass in front of you. Great view of the whole ice surface. Just don't get a bottle of beer and try to put it in your cupholder - there's a reason it is called a 'CUPholder'.

  • Hawks @ Blues

    by Fish106 on 3/13/16Scottrade Center - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

Great game between two big rivals! Able to get last minute seats face value and the seats were AMAZING!!! What a view of all the action and no one in front of us at all!

  • Most exciting game I've been to

    by LukeStanbery89 on 3/12/16Scottrade Center - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

Division rivals. We lost, but the game was awesome. Will definitely go back to the Scottrade Center.

  • I would change a couple things

by MWWagner on 2/25/16Scottrade Center - St LouisRating: 3 out of 5

The music is TOO LOUD. Turn it down. Not all paying customers are teenagers. Too many silly activities during intermissions. Having a guy sing Jimmy Buffet songs was annoying, and too loud. The oddly dressed young woman running all the contests was also too loud and was only interested in hearing her own voice. Just SHUT UP and let us relax between periods instead of one assault after another on my ears. Despite the loss, the best part of the night, as usual, was the game.

  • Best hockey game I've ever attended!

by Mrmikeb on 2/21/16Scottrade Center - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

The Blues played better than I've ever seen but I still don't understand why they only took 2 shots during their 2-man advantage. It was a very physical game that kept me on the edge of my seat. They played like they were going after the cup!

  • Great game, great seats

    by Reilly331 on 1/21/16Scottrade Center - St LouisRating: 4 out of 5

I really enjoyed the Blues game and actually thought we might get the occasional puck over the glass. Really good sight lines with the exception of one little distortion on the far end of the ice, but, hey, that's what the Jumbotron is for, right? Good leg room in the seats and it was easy to get to food and drink lines and, of course, the restroom.

  • FORGET THE BLUES

    by YANKEE57 on 1/19/16Scottrade Center - St LouisRating: 1 out of 5

BLUES looked like they were playing kiddie hockey---of course they have played like that the last 5-6 games. WHATS UP WITH THAT ???

  • Blues VS Hurricanes

by STLMotorman on 1/18/16Scottrade Center - St LouisRating: 2 out of 5

The Blues played horribly. They couldn't find enough ways to give up possession of the puck. Predictably, they lost 1 - 4. The Hurricanes just out skated and out played them.

  • poor parking and terrible to get into arena

by debbiecar on 1/5/16Scottrade Center - St LouisRating: 3 out of 5

The arena itself was nice, staff friendly. Getting into area was a complete mess and there was no parking available. We finally did end up in a garage a few blocks away for only 5 bucks which was amazing. There aren't enough entrances into Scottrade and it took forever to actually get into building. Not designed well for getting into if it is a sellout game.

  • Big Mac vouchers worthless

    by SidA1 on 1/4/16Scottrade Center - St LouisRating: 4 out of 5

A lifelong Blues fan, had a great time at the game as usual. Bought the McDonalds Family Pack as in the past. The offer for food items at the game was fine, but the "Big Mac vouchers" that I was promised were worthless. In past years, the voucher could be redeemed for a free Big Mac. This year, the fine print reads - must purchase something, and the free item you get is the lesser price item. Since the Big Mac is one of the more expensive items, you are not getting a Big Mac free. The voucher is worth less than the normal coupons or deals that McDonalds always has.

  • Great time even for those new to hockey!!

    by brock42 on 1/1/16Scottrade Center - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

Scottrade Center is always full when the Saint Louis Blues play. Amazing atmosphere with such a unique sport. Seats are awesome and the rink is such a cool sight. The players are amazing. Gotta love it.

  • Great view, Blues attack zone twice and the shoot!

by CSBlues on 12/31/15Scottrade Center - St LouisRating: 4 out of 5

Action packed game. Tied, went to overtime, and then decided in a nine-round shootout. Blues Win! Can't get better than that!

  • Blues game for the ages

by buckskinslim on 12/30/15Scottrade Center - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

One of the greatest hockey games I have ever seen in my life. What excitement and talent. 9 shots for each team in the shootout.

  • great experience. I am now a Blues fan.

by BebetoBill on 12/30/15Scottrade Center - St LouisRating: 5 out of 5

This was my first Blues game even though I have been wanting to go for 20 years. We found 3 seats just 8 rows behind the glass behind the Blues's goalie for periods 1 and 3. The quality of these seats for the price was roughly half of what we would pay to see our hometown team -- The Chicago Blackhawks. However, the stadium felt much more intimate than the United Center. The food choices were great but it was expensive ($10 for a plastic cup of beer). The access to souvenirs was great. No long lines. The announcements and game-time entertainment were fine. The parking options were good and priced fairly as we parked just 2 blocks away.

  • Blues Hockey @ ScottTrade

    by Inspector100 on 12/22/15Scottrade Center - St LouisRating: 3 out of 5

Game was good one with exciting moments. Fans are not into it very well. They don't seem to appreciate the little things in the game that determines the outcome. Blues staff was excellent. Organ doesn't boom and plays passive stuff. Doesn't build the atmosphere you would expect at a hockey game. Too many things on video board. Takes away from exciting opportunities. Theme seems to focus on the past Blues hockey tradition, not the present team. And their tradition is nothing other than a better than average team through the years. But the crowd doesn't reward the team with deafening support of their great plays. Frankly I had more fun at the local ECHL rink.

  • LETS GO BLUES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LETS GO BLUES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! need i say more

  • It was ok

by Dkgcb on 12/16/15Scottrade Center - St LouisRating: 2 out of 5

The game was OK, not as exciting. I would not want to by tickets vs Dallas. But I wanted to mention this, I paid $300 for tickets on the 300 level next to the glass shield and I'm tall, so I can't constantly sit in up-right position, I would lean forward because of the back pain and to stretch legs, then back and forth. I and other people were constantly harassed by this staff lady to sit up and not touch the glass. It was so bad that we left in the middle second period. I 'm definitely not buying the tickets up there anymore.
