    Spyro Gyra

by Bejay5 on 7/19/10Cain Park - Cleveland Heights

For a first time visitor to Cain Park and a longtime fan of Spyro Gyra it was like meeting an old friend for lunch... and you picking up the bill. The ambiance was great, I had lawn tickets and thank God it wasn't 90 degrees in the shade.Spyro Gyra was great as usual and it was reflective hearing some old favorites and being introduced to their newer songs.

    Ytown Jazz festival

by Reeno47 on 7/12/10Youngstown Jazz Festival - Youngstown

The music was excellant and the crowd was typical for that venue. It made for an enjoyable summer evening. The organizors should give the people info on the refreshments and espcially if there is a condition when it comes to alcohol purchases

    Youngstown Jazz festival

by DBandSGfan on 7/11/10Youngstown Jazz Festival - Youngstown

I hope this becomes a yearly event and great acts like Spyro Gyra and David Benoit. The concert was awesome! I moved to the front of the stage and danced toward the end of the concert. The crowd roared when Morning Song was played, and I was very happy to hear Charles Mingus, Dave Brubeck and Vince Guaraldi selections played. I hoped to hear Para Ti Latino and Clair's Dream would have been played. However, I love everything they write. Featuring the vocals and drumming by Bobby pulled me up to the front. I was glad Jeff pointed out who wrote the songs and allowed the artists to freely show themselves. I always through SG had a great song on tape then CD. They are better in person. David Benoit was excellent. Watching his fingers move across the keyboard thrilled me. Thanks for coming to Youngstown!

    Wonderful!!!!

by Venez on 7/11/10Youngstown Jazz Festival - Youngstown

It doesn't get any better than the Youngstown Smooth Jazz Festival. My group had a great time. I could not believe I was in Downtown Youngstown. This compares to concerts I have been to in Cleveland, New York and Chicago. The line up was perfect. The opening acts were just as good as the headliners. I don't know who put this together, but they deserve a standing ovation for a phenomenal job. The weather was perfect, the food was excellent, the staff including the Youngstown Police Department were professional and very helpful. Please don't let this be the last concert. Thank you for giving us a day to remember.

Wonderful show. All the acts were great. The downtown venue was a great place to hold this event. Would hope they consider repeating again next year.

The performance was fabulous! The venue was perfect. My husband and I would definitely see Spyro Gyra again at Bears Den.

    Great show

by Geppy on 4/28/10Bears Den At Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel - Niagara Falls

Band was great, as usual, but table seats at the venue were freezing! AC was blowing directly on all the tables, which were the 'cheap seats'. As for the concert, drummer BonnyB led some great funny moments to the procedings. Bassist was amazing. For the mix where we sat (at the very back, freezing tables), the sax could have been slightly louder, but it may have sounded fine in the regular seats.

Spyro Gyra a must for the music fan

by Michael46 on 4/24/10Penn's Peak - Jim Thorpe

After seeing them at Berks Jazz Fest, and at Bethlehem Music Fest in the past, I can only say that like a fine wine they just get better with time.

    Nice evening of great music

by schoey on 4/24/10Penn's Peak - Jim Thorpe

The musicians were really talented. My husband was a fan in college and this was our first time at Penn's Peak. This is a great place to see a concert. The band had a great performance and I came away from it a fan of Spyro Gyra.

    Awesome!

by gjohnson71 on 4/23/10Bears Den At Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel - Niagara Falls

Seeing Spryo Gyra in this inimate arena was absolutly awesome. They guys played for about 1 1/2 hours and time just flew by. They introduced the person who signed them to their first record deal 33 years ago, Lenny Silver. I have seen them many times over the years and they get better each time. The drummer Bonny B I had not seen before. He was very good and super entertaining.

    Still the best

by Krismasself on 4/19/10Bears Den At Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel - Niagara Falls

SpyroGrya was one of the first Jazz Fusion bands to hit the big time, and they are still amazingly writing, selling and performing great music! Love the Bears Den at the Seneca Niagara Casino, much better then their Performance Center! Stadium seating with nearly theater-in-the-round audience veiwing. Comfy seats and better acoustics.

    Unforgettable Spyro Gyra

by Supreme1 on 4/18/10Bears Den At Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel - Niagara Falls

This has to be the best of all the Spyro Gyra concerts I've ever attended. It was like attending a jam session. The band members were having as much fun playing as I did listening.

    SPYRO GYRA & JONATHAN BUTLER

by PhilDB on 3/27/10Nokia Theatre Times Square - New York

Really enjoyed SPYRO GYRA, the opening act. The volume of the music was comfortable. However, when JONATHAN BUTLER, the main act took to the stage, the volume of the music was way too loud. Wish I had earplugs.

Spyro Grya and Jonathan Butler were terrific. Butler's voice is awesome. A must see for any jazz enthusiast. However, the seats at the venue could have been a bit more comfortable.

Jonathan Butler: A night to remember!

by Jeninlove on 3/26/10Nokia Theatre Times Square - New York

It was an awesome night yesterday witnessing such great talent as Spyro Gyra and the awesome legend Jonathan Butler in performance. I never heard of Spyro Gyra; and in all honesty I was a lost soul trying to find my way back home and came just to hear Jonathan Butler minister; but the talent that exist within Spyro and his team is undeniable. The sound of jazz, the freedom of spirit and love permeated the atmosphere last night through them and it was such an honor for me to be in that setting. The highlight of the night for me however was when the great Jonathan Butler sang "Faliing in love with Jesus." I honestly came just to hear that song and I believe God allowed him to sing it just for me. In summation, the entire night was great. True music in its essence is beautiful and filled with God and love-and that was definately felt and heard last night.

    Spyro Gyra & Butler

by SteveBfromItaly on 3/26/10Nokia Theatre Times Square - New York

Jay Beckenstein appeared old and rotund. I have been a fan for 25 years and have seen Spyro Gyra in concert at least 10 times. Unfortunately, the music composed by Jay and Dave Samuels years ago was much better then the songs he was pushing from his new album last night. I was very disappointed in how few of the considerable number of great hits of the past he played last night. Jonathan Butler was a very pleasant surprise. What an effortless voice he has and the combination of guitar and voice made it seem like there were 7 or 8 musicians on the stage last night. I did not realize how much of a born again he was and how much of his music was faith based.

    A little confused

by merkster on 3/26/10Nokia Theatre Times Square - New York

I thought by the way the show was being billed and with all the advertisements I saw that Spyro would be headlining the show. When they took the stage first I was like, OK, so maybe it will just be them or Jonathon was just going to join in with them. That's not what happened either, they took the stage, and 1 hour and 15 minutes later they left the stage, there performance was remarkable, but there were so many great songs of there's that never got played. Jonathon Butler was great, he also played for a little over an hour, then when their set was done, off the stage they went, no oncore, nothing. All and all the Show was great, the music sounded awesome, specially at the Nokia, just would have liked them to play a little longer for the price of the tickets....
