Springsteen on Broadway is a solo acoustic performance written and performed by Bruce Springsteen under the lights of Broadway. It is an intimate night with Bruce, his guitar, a piano, and his stories.
“My vision of these shows is to make them as personal and intimate as possible. I chose Broadway for this project because it has the beautiful old theaters which seemed like the right setting for what I have in mind. In fact, with one or two exceptions, the 960 seats of the Walter Kerr Theatre is probably the smallest venue I’ve played in the last 40 years. My show is just me, the guitar, the piano and the words and music. Some of the show is spoken, some of it is sung, all of it together is in pursuit of my constant goal—to communicate something of value," says Springsteen.
Bruce Springsteen’s recording career spans over 40 years, beginning with 1973's ‘Greetings from Asbury Park, NJ’ (Columbia Records). He has released 18 studio albums, garnered 20 Grammys, won an Oscar, been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, received a Kennedy Center Honor, and was MusiCares’ 2013 Person of the Year. Springsteen’s memoir ‘Born to Run’ (Simon & Schuster) and its companion album ‘Chapter and Verse’ were released in September 2016, and he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in November last year. Springsteen’s The River Tour 2016 was named the year’s top global tour by both Billboard and Pollstar. ‘Born to Run’ will be issued in paperback by Simon & Schuster this September.

Hands down one of the most amazing experiences! Bruce kills the acoustic versions of each of his songs, while telling all about his life. My mom and I absolutely loved it and could se it all over again if we could!
This show was one of the best I have ever seen! Bruce was poetic, emotional, funny and sounded fantastic! The theatre is very quaint and personal. It was worth every dime! Don't miss it! I can't wait to go again!
Absolutely amazing. Even if you have seen and heard everything the Boss has done, this particular venture is so intimate. Think about sitting in your living room, and having the man right there looking into your eyes, you could touch him he was so close. The Walter Kerr Theatre was a perfect choice for this show. Comfortable, accessible, like home.
What a show! It lived up to the hype and then some. Emotional, energetic, and wonderful.
Seen Bruce countless times over 40 years. But nothing as stripped down as this. Bruce was real, honest, insightful, funny, emotional - rarely does one get to see a rock star in this light. His song selection and lead in stories were a perfect match. And the acoustic versions of these classics were the coup de grace. None of us have seen some of these selected gems in this understated form. To understate these songs is to overstate their power! Just a great show!
Springsteen on Broadway was amazing. It felt like Bruce played a 2 hour show in my living room. I've been to a number of his concerts, and this show is completely opposite, but incredible in its own ways. The way he weaves stories from his book Born to Run into the beginning of each song sheds light into what was going on when that song was written/released.
It was like nothing else that Bruce has ever done. An in touch and personal oration of Bruce's life from his youth to the present. I strongly recommend this show.
Just when you thought his four hour concerts were the ultimate experience, he reaches in and comes up with a two hour, intimate performance that makes you appreciate his talent on a new level. There is a reason he is called "The Boss" . Incredible!!
Holy Moly, that was the best two hours of listening Bruce recite from his book and sing some songs!!
It was a great tie in to the book. His intro to the songs were like exerpts from his book. The book is really worth a read. It was also great to hear some of his classic songs like Thunder Road & Born to Run done by Bruce alone with his guitar. It was also cool to hear him play piano.
If you are a true Springsteen fan, then this is your utopia. For two hours it's as if you and he were hanging in your favorite dive having some beers. It's a magical, intimate, once in a lifetime night.
Bruce on Broadway is like nothing i have ever experienced. The masterful storyteller makes you feel like you're having an intimate private conversation with him. His choice of songs perfectly accompany his stories. He touches your heart an soul and makes you wish this conversation could go on forever.
Once in a lifetime experience. Do what it takes to see this show and share it with others. (Just don’t pay scalping resellers)
From the time he walks onto the stage till he exits 2 hours later Bruce draws you in to his life story brilliantly thru his songs and story telling. He is at times funny at times serious but all the time engaging. It was so exciting to see him up close in the small venue, a big change from the large stadium venues where you only really see him on a screen. He is a poet, song writer and all around great performer. An unforgettable experience and a must see for any Bruce Springsteen fan!
Springsteen is the best. Show was fantastic and the venue was perfect and intimate.
I've been to over 100 Bruce Springsteen concerts. This was totally different. I read the book, but hearing him tell the stories and adding the music to the stories was like watching the book come to life in front of your eyes. Cannot say enough about how moving it was. Amazing!
Intimate venue. Felt like I was in Bruce’s living room and he was telling stories from his childhood. Made me cry several times. He reworked his songs to fit the mood. Was mesmerized the entire night.
Bruce never disappoints! Love the stories and the infinite setting.
I’ve been a Bruce fanatic my entire life, and this was absolutely incredible. His storytelling, heart, songs, and story will stay with me for a long time. Intimate venue, amazing sound, beautiful performance.
