Incredible weekend. Stage 2 on day 2 the sound was very low. Not enough water refill stations. Wish there was posters/signs at the entry way when artists changed their set times and locations. It was nice to have the tweets but not everyone had a twitter so a poster at each entry way would've been helpful/

  • Venue Let Down

by krdj on 6/17/13Soldier Field - ChicagoRating: 1 out of 5

After passing up several opportunities to attend a EDM Festival / Concert, I finally decided to make the time, spend the money and make a weekend out of it in Chicago. After traveling by bus for 10 hours, it was time to go the Festival. When we arrived, the staff took my ticket and I asked if we hold on to anything, they said "no, we keep this ticket". After we entered, we quickly realized that very few people accepted credit or debit cards...after trying 3 different ATMs, we realized they were all broken or out of cash. We finally found a concession that accepted credit. We missed an entire act because of this ordeal, so when we finally walked down the stands in the "VIP" section we purchased tickets for, I had a hand put on my chest by a female staff member asking me rudely where my VIP wristband was. I had no idea that I needed a wristband and wasn't informed when I gave the lady my tickets out front. The woman was less than helpful and kind of gave me the feeling of "too bad, it's not my problem". We tried finding other staff members to help, and they wanted us to walk out front where we came in. The last performance was starting, so we decided to sit in the stands. After drinking 2 beers, I went up to get a refill. After waiting in line for 5 minutes, the woman at the register told me I had to go to the other end of the concession to pay with credit/debit. To put the icing on the cake, right when I was going to pay, a security guard came up and said no more sales, so I couldn't by the beer and had the gate shut in my face. The $150 tickets were a huge waste, but I'm sure the performances were awesome.

    by KevinK2 on 6/17/13Soldier Field - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

The entire event was awesome - everyone in the place was there to have a good time, and the groups that performed absolutely killed it - great job to all of them

  • Life changing

by ChreePap on 6/17/13Soldier Field - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Even going for just one day completely changed the way I look at music. Definitely the highlight of my life so far. I would pay double to go again.

  • Amazing Experience!

by LazyLegz on 6/17/13Soldier Field - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

Entry was a breeze. Stages were better than expected. Really awesome hardcore and friendly crowd, PLUR was represented well. Easy to get from stage to stage, rental lockers really came in handy. What I did not like there was no min age limit, I dont believe this is an enviroment for children. I also don't like the downtown hours where you only get two and a half hours of the event at night time. So that is why I didn't give it 5 stars. I seriously enjoyed the crowd more than at EDC vegas though, more beautiful women and more creative and better looking outfits on males and females! Awesome Crowd!!

  • Talk about an awakening!

    by beats55 on 6/17/13Soldier Field - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Weather was definitely better this year. The organizers put together another well run event with top notch talent and facilities (EDM on Soldier Field!). There are a ton of fests these day but this is worth attending. No beer lines, by the way, because workers walk around selling beer like they would at a football game.

Absolutely amazing experience. If you are ever in Chicago for the duration of Spring Awakening I would tell you to go. Be ready for a rough Monday, I'm exhausted. This is the event of a lifetime.

  • Spring Awakening Festival better return next year!

by HoudiniG on 6/20/12Soldier Field - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Unbelievable to spend all weekend listening to a lot of the best dj's, live and loud, and hang out with cool, interesting people. Heaven (but with a funky, fun twist)! Loved Carl Cox, Derrick Carter, Ferry Corsten, and Nathan Scott - all I've enjoyed in clubs here in Chicago, and they're even better on the big stage! Awesome! Hardwell and Diplo had me running back and forth between stages - both so good!!! Same with A-Trak and Morgan Page! Skrillex and Afrojack - don't even need to say anything, because everyone that was there knows how crazy good they were! Moby was classically good - can't miss with his sets. Only disappointment was they cut Benassi short and he didn't do Satisfaction (one of my Favorites of all time), but the rest of his set was ridiculously good! Thank you to United Center Staff for keeping it so clean and safe, having so many food options, and for having fun with us (yeah, I saw ya'll dancin', too)! :) United Center was an awesome location for this, and sound was awesome @ all 4 stages, no matter where you were standing, dancing, whatever... Please bring it back again next year!!!!!!!!!

  • Bands were great, facilities were disorganized

    by ja928 on 6/18/12Soldier Field - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

The acts were great. However the VIP access was very disorganized. If you entered on the north side of the stadium, you didn't get your VIP bracelets as you came through security. I had to go back out the southern entrance against tons of "No Re-Entry" signs and talk to several security guards before getting back in. There were absolutely NO taxis to be found after walking across the footbridge to the 18th street exit.

  • Spring Awakeing was awesome!

by EricZak on 6/18/12Soldier Field - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

This was one of the best events I have ever been to. Worth every dollar I paid for it. Danced for 3 hours straight. Diplo, Moby and the other DJ's were awesome. Can not wait for this event next year.

  • Freak Fest!

    by PaPpY1974 on 6/18/12Soldier Field - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

From simply being able to laugh at what may people were wearing, to rocking our butt's off that night, this was AWESOME!!! Benny Bennasi tore it up towards the end with Skrillex topping it off!
