About

For many artists, a meteoric rise can often mean a sudden plateau. However, for 2X Grammy-nominated progressive heavy metal mainstays Spiritbox, there appears to be no end in sight on their near-constant ascent to the top. Formed in 2017 in the picturesque yet isolated region of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, by vocalist Courtney Laplante and guitarist Mike Stringer, Spiritbox would fully cement themselves as a household name in the summer of 2020 with the release of their blistering breakout single "Holy Roller," along with a host of other captivating singles shortly after, resulting in critical and commercial acclaim.

With new and existing fans eagerly watching their next move, Spiritbox, which also consists of drummer Zev Rose and bassist Josh Gilbert, exceeded every expectation imaginable in 2021 with the release of their genre-defining debut studio album Eternal Blue via Pale Chord/Rise Records. Eternal Blue, which debuted at #13 on the Billboard 200, kicked open the doors of the heavy metal scene and rewrote the genre's playbook with 12 stunning tracks including the smash single, "Circle With Me."

Following a whirlwind touring cycle for Eternal Blue and the experimental 2022 Rotoscope EP, Spiritbox wrote and recorded their critically acclaimed EP, The Fear of Fear, released in November 2023. The EP featured the lead single "Jaded," which was nominated for Best Metal Performance at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards. Exactly one year later, Spiritbox were nominated for a Grammy once again in the Best Metal Performance category, this time for the unapologetically heavy The Fear of Fear track  "Cellar Door," which also inspired celebrated folk/doom metal artist Chelsea Wolfe to cover the song in stripped-down fashion on her latest EP, Unbound. With two Grammy nominations under their belt, Spiritbox have solidified their status as one of the most influential acts in modern metal today.

For fans patiently waiting for new music, Spiritbox satiated the demand this past September with the incendiary single "Soft Spine." The pummeling track took the band's signature visceral sound and dialed it up to eleven in terms of intensity and musicality to rave reviews. In October, the band also shared their most recent collaboration "TYG," with iconic rapper Megan Thee Stallion, with whom the band worked on last year's fan favorite remix of the song "Cobra."

After months of online speculation and rumors of a long-awaited new studio album, Spiritbox announced their brand new sophomore LP, Tsunami Sea. Produced by longtime collaborator Dan Braunstein, along with Spiritbox guitarist Mike Stringer, Tsunami Sea is undoubtedly the band's most vulnerable and introspective release to date and the 11 track album finds the group not only returning to their roots but venturing into new waters as well at full steam. Along with the announcement of Tsunami Sea, Spiritbox shared the anthemic and melodically-driven new single "Perfect Soul" and just a few months later they released one of the heaviest tracks of their career with "No Loss, No Love" -- further showcasing the band's ability to juxtapose beauty and aggression seamlessly.

Tsunami Sea finally arrived on March 7th via Pale Chord/Rise Records BMG, and much like the title suggests, it caused a tidal wave of exciting new milestones in Spiritbox's career--debuting at #26 in the US on the Billboard Top 200 charts, as well as #1 on the US Current Hard Music charts. Always a strong global presence, Spiritbox also cracked the top 20 of the UK charts, scoring a #17 placement overall, #1 on the UK Indie Charts, and #12 on the Top German Album charts--along with a #1 spot on the Top Canadian Hard Music Chart.

With each release, Spiritbox continues to carve out a legacy defined not just by numbers, but by fearless reinvention, genre-defying ambition, and an unwavering connection to their ever-growing global audience.

  • Stellar Performances all around!

by Christian on 4/22/25MGM Music Hall at Fenway - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Happy to say that all 3 bands on this tour gave it their all, and landed amazing performances. I highly recommend any one of these bands alone, but all together they created an amazing night! Great energy all around, and would easily watch them play again.

  • Spiritbox @ Hammstein Ballroom

by Chris81877 on 4/22/25Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

I saw Spiritbox with Dying Wish at Hammerstein Ballroom (and ended up missing Loathe.) The show was amazing. I had been excited for Dying Wish for quite some time and they were awesome. This was my 4th time seeing Spiritbox and they completely blew me away. I've seen them as openers twice, and now as headliners twice. They put together an awesome setlist and even better visuals. Check them out when you can.

  • The band was amazing

by Joel on 4/22/25MGM Music Hall at Fenway - BostonRating: 4 out of 5

The bands were amazing but the drink prices are absurd. $30 for two Trulys

  • Great bands, not so great venue

by aelyn on 4/21/25UPMC Events Center - Moon TownshipRating: 4 out of 5

All of the bands in the lineup were amazing, as expected. My only issue lies with the venue and its parking situation. One exit from a college campus? And very limited accessible parking? Definitely bring a mobility aid if you think you might need one.

  • WOOHOO!

GREAT! OPENERS SLAYED, SPIRITBOX ATE! WILL GET BARICADE AGAIN. SO WORTH IT

  • Box seats at Hammerstein

by Justin on 4/21/25Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

Seats would've been great if the back row of the box could see anything. All of the front row was standing at the railing and completely disconnected on their phones while we couldn't see anything and security wouldn't let anyone interfere with the front row. Someone about 6'8"stood right where the view just disappeared behind him while he was on his phone not even watching so that was unfortunate. Nothing on the show itself as it was very good overall but I wish there was more consideration for the performers and the guests who give a damn about having good seats versus those who couldn't seem to care less.

  • Awesome concert from all three bands

  • The Wellmont Spiritbox

by Hank on 4/18/25The Wellmont Theater - MontclairRating: 5 out of 5

The concert was awesome, Spiritbox was great they get better each time. This was the best as they expand on the music that they put out. I have seen them in different venues and tours.

  • Way better than usual

by Brandon on 4/17/25The Fillmore Philadelphia - PhiladelphiaRating: 4 out of 5

I typically find spiritbox to be a pretty boring and lackluster live band. They don't do anything noteworthy, whether in their stage presence or musicianship. But I will say this is the best I've ever seen them. Still nothing special, but I actually moderately enjoyed myself this time! Definitely had to dock a star though for that absurd wait time. It was like 30-45 mins between Loathe and their set. I've never waited that long for a band to come on, even for a massive arena stage production. They couldve just come out sooner and played a couple more songs, since they wasted THREE songs of the setlist for their god awful Rotoscope EP.

  • Epic band and fantastic venue

by MorganT on 4/17/25The Fillmore Philadelphia - PhiladelphiaRating: 5 out of 5

This band never disappoints!!! Seeing them really work the crowd in a smaller venue was so so powerful.

  • Random pain during loathe

by RL on 4/17/25The Fillmore Philadelphia - PhiladelphiaRating: 4 out of 5

Loved spiritbox. Dying wish was absolutely incredible. Emma and the crew killed it and wish their set was longer. Loathe ranges from ethereal to v aggressive and if you don’t know the music be prepared if you’re in the pit. You may get some random dude landing on your head like we did - when we didn’t expect it. Not a big fan of loathe vibe. Spiritbox was maybe a little less energy having come from Coachella the day prior but still a great performance by the band. Mike stringer is incredible. Would def see again but loathe not so much. Just personal preference. They def gave it their all and were a class act.

  • Amazing

by Rob on 4/15/25UPMC Events Center - Moon TownshipRating: 5 out of 5

I've been to a lot of shows. As a matter of fact I recently saw Disturbed. I can honestly say that Spiritbox blew Disturbed out of the water. Courtney is incredible on the vocals and the music and show both were incredible. Cant wait to see them again.
