Incredibly hilarious! I luaghed the whole time and the actors were amazing! Great girls night out. Seating was a little tight, but the performance was on point.
To start, I will note that I have not read any of the books and am a 26 year old male which may invalidate my review to many, but I couldn't help but list my opinion of this wreck. I usually enjoy all kinds of performances including amateur theater when I was in college, but the ridiculously lame and hackneyed jokes killed me and my date (who has read the trilogy). It was just dumb, unoriginal joke after another. I am all for cheap, sexually explicit material and jokes, but this was the equivalent of someone saying "that's what she said" at a bar for 2 hours. I have never walked out of a movie, play, musical, or any other event until last night. We hoped it would get better after intermission, but it didn't so we left a few minutes after that. I don't blame the actors because they seemed young and at least tired to make the terrible writing seem funny, but they couldn't overcome the script's poor quality. While there were some 40+ year old couples that were dying laughing, I still cannot recommend anyone wasting their time or money on this parody.
Never read the books and didn't need to. My date had and she was the reason I bought the tickets. I found a few doe eyed guys like me standing around with their wives or dates. Once it started it was a blast. All three actors were up to the task, interacted well with the audience and made it a memorable albeit "risqué" show.
What a fun time. Much better than the book or movie - because the audience spent the entire time in laughter!
Went with my wife and enjoyed it together.if your up for a evening of laughs together then this is the show to see.highly recommended.
We laughed so hard we cried. It was clever and smart!
I wish it had been here for more shows so I could send some friends. It was as I expected and so funny. They did a great job.
I wasn't sure what to expect as I hadn't really seen any reviews on it. I absolutely loved it. The actors did a great job.
We went to see Spank! with two other couples. We laughed the whole way home because we laughed from the moment the play began until it ended. Totally funny! A great time was had by all. Spank! was wonderfully funny.
The play is a 3 person skit Which was not clear from description
A group of us girls saw this play together. Half of us read the book, the other half did not. We all thoroughly enjoyed it and found it hilarious. A week later we're still repeating our favorite parts. Enjoyable experience.
It took only three actors on stage to tell this parody. The narrator did a good job to keep you abreast of what was or did happen. The suggestive moves were done well as you knew just what was happening. They all had good voices and stage presence. It was an enjoyable evening out for this old gal.
Spank was a very funny theater performance, This was my first time to anything like this I will be returning
Gotta see this! It was funny from start to finish!
Took a first date to this play and we laughed our butts off from beginning to end. I heard there is a sequel out there called Spank harder. I will try to catch that for sure.
Very pleased with the actor/actresses for this show. They were great! No high tech props used, only your imagination! Thanks!
if you have a sense of humor and can laugh at raunchy stuff and go with a group of women that do too then this is a perfect girls night out. Leave the men at home, they will not enjoy this. Don't spend more than $30 a ticket. I would say targets ages 21-45 as they're were a group of older ladies (55+) that were not getting the jokes and such.
I didn't know much about it going into the theater and I was a little shocked there were only three actors and basically no sets beyond props and lighting (the props were hilarious). It was more like a stand-up comedy routine with a plot then a play. The performances were great, there were a few stumbled lines, but there were a lot of really great moments. I won't give any spoilers but they really hit on all the reasons why we love to hate those books.
I couldn't wait for it to be over. 2 hrs too long!
