Out of all.my trips to this event there was a sell out crowd and rhe atmosphere was awesome
The Liberty bowl experience was great. All the beautiful people; all the vendors and food trucks. I had a wonderful time for my first time going and hope to go back next year. People were kind, friendly and accomodating.
Best Experience of tailgating. Everyone was like family. Great time to enjoy your surrounding, meet new people, cooking out all while being outside. Great area to relax.
Fantastic event and look forward to next year! The organizers did a fantastic job in putting together a wonderful weekend.
I'm a 27 year veteran Southern Heritage Tailgater! This was one of the BEST SHC's ever. The staff was AWESOME and very diverse. They enforced the rules and bylaws with an understanding of the what customers and patrons wanted and needed. The event was Totally regulated to perfection. There was a sense of peace and calmness that was not overshadowed by the showmanship that the classic brings. Even though I'm a Mississippi Man, I celebrate both JSU and TSU because I have family that are vested in both. I'm loving the shift of power, honor and respect to the HBCUs...along with the injection of financial support and star power!
Everything about the classic was great, except the flow of traffic into the stadium and the pick-up of tickets from will-call. Those two things have to be fixed before we consider coming from south florida to attend the event again. This is a fantastic event, don't ruin it because of those two things.
There were thirty two (32) people in the group I was with and everyone said they had a gerat time.
Traffic to stadium was awful. Need a better system like pick up station to reduce traffic. Will call ticket pick up was ad hot mess. Should be able to print ticket when purchase on line. When we got in game it was 6:30 and 3 scores was on board. I’m a TSU ALUM and was very disappointed in this process. Been doing this for 30 years. These processes should b better!!!!
Had the chance to meet up with old friends. Great spaces. Tailgating was great. Will be back next year
Will call wasn’t a good choice for such a big event. There should have been an option to print the tickets. The entering of the facility was so unorganized. I got there an hour and a half and did not get into the facility until way into the first quarter. The will call lines was wrapped around the building.
Nothing captures the Black college experience like this game and the events associated with it
The game was very exciting and I really enjoyed the halftime show.
First tailgate with the family. Everything from ticket handling to location and security went wonderful. Cant wait to do it again...
The event was great!! However, I am displeased with the ticket sales process. I bought tickets on the 64th row that were accessible. They were more expensive than the accessible seats on the 24th row that gave you the idea that the 64th row would be easier to access and better seats than row 24th. This was not the case. In the future, my advice would be to not sell accessible seats period on the 64th row unless an elevator is accessible to all accessible ticket purchasers. There would have been no way for us to reach the 64th row with my dad who can’t walk without being personally escorted by staff to the elevators. Believe me I have it embedded in my head for next year.....accessible!
Long line 3 hours before the event. Limited parking on the stadium ground. Stadium parking closedown one hour before the start of the game. Tailgating takes up all the parking inside the stadium. No instructions given about gates to use. Only two gates for public parking. Hundreds of people selling parking around the stadium. Thousands of people parking in front of people homes. Causing one way streets and accidents. Tailgaters selling food inside stadium. Need to setup outside the stadium. We finally got in at half time. Paid $20.00 to park 3 miles away. Will not go again unless that stadium parking conditions are fixed. It’s not about the game or the people. It’s about some one making money off the game or the people. I strongly recommend not going until the stadium parking problems are corrected for the people attending the game.
I purchased tickets from ticketmaster and ended up standing in line at will call for over an hour to retrieve my tickets. This process should be streamlined-including allowing the purchaser to print their tickets and having scanners for the people who are checking the tickets at the gate. It’s 2019, not 1919. Come on and step into the future HBCUs.
It was my birthday and watching my beloved Tigers at the Liberty Bowl playing and winning. The experience was great.
My Family and I,look forward to this event, faithfully, each year. The entire Southern Heritege Classic Weekend is always epic. Even though the game was cancel due to lighting, we enjoyed our weekend as much as we did last year and can’t hardly wait until 2019 Thank you Mr.Fred Jones SHC founder for a very well planned event that we look forward to yearly and Thank you Ticketmaster for the refund that you all so graciously gave us. Well see you guys next year
We had another successful year on Tiger Lane for the annual Southern Heritage Classic Tailgate! The purchase and pickup of my tailgating package was coordinated well with the Liberty Bowl. My section was clearly labeled and easy to find. The staff working the event was friendly. I’ll defintely purchase again next year!
The rain interfered with the game. It was God’s work. We were already prepared for the rain. The good times, partying, tailgating before the game was great. What fun it was.
