Soulja Boy on Tour

When Soulja Boy Tell ‘Em released his 2007 debut single, “Crank That (Soulja Boy),” the 17-year-old rapper became an instant hit - and something of a viral pioneer. With its booming bass, slick snaps and steelpan loop, the song began blowing up flip phones (remember ringtones?) and its music video inspired millions to learn the Soulja Boy dance. But he’s proven to be far more than a flash-in-the-pan internet sensation. The Grammy-nominated artist still brings that infectious energy to the stage. In his early years, he learned from the best, touring alongside some of the biggest rappers in the biz, including Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy, Rick Ross and Drake. Even after a stint in jail and the transition back to being an independent artist - releasing material on his own record label, Stacks on Deck Entertainment (SODMG) - Soulja Boy continues to bring in the crowds with appearances at major hip-hop events including The Millennium Tour 2021.

About Soulja Boy

Soulja Boy Tell ‘Em has been magnetic from the start, creating one of the 21st century’s biggest rap hits and funnest dance fads at age 17. It’s not easy to eclipse such a massive debut hit at such a young age, but the Chicago-born rapper has gone on to show he has far more snappy moves up his sleeve. Born DeAndre Cortez Way in 1990, the future star bounced from Chicago to Atlanta to Batesville, Mississippi, where he began making music and posting songs online. Within a few months of recording “Crank That” and releasing his first album, the aptly titled Unsigned & Still Major: Da Album Before Da Album, Way signed to Interscope Records and saw his self-produced song fly up to the top of the Billboard Hot 100. His major label debut, 2007’s Souljaboytellem.com, came out just over six months after “Crank That” first hit the web. Soulja Boy was nominated for Best Rap Song, but had plenty to live up to after that rapid rise to the top. He came through with a number of successful singles, including “Kiss Me Thru the Phone,” and “Pretty Boy Swag.” But he’s made just as much a name for himself as a producer, actor, fashion designer, video game console creator and prolific mixtape maker. He’s still a powerful force on social media, too, racking up well over a billion YouTube views.

    Soulja Boy

by Kellus on 9/12/23The Senate - Columbia

When Soulja Boy finally came out (almost three hours later) his part was good. He performed for like 30-45 mins. What i did not understand is that from 9:15-12a there were like 8 start ups rappers that came out, and they were not good at all

    Soulja

by Steph b on 9/12/23The Underground - Charlotte

The venue was a great temperature which is important to me bc with all the ppl in there and being packed it can get awful. The staff was nice. The bathroom placement was odd, as it was kind of behind the stage.

    Good performer

    by Dcakes on 8/16/23

Soulja Boy is a good performer and artist. The DJ and openers are a different story and lost the crowd's attention. Security needs a lot of improvement as well.

    He was very late

    by Bahbahbah on 8/14/23

He didn’t advertise for any openers and the show supposed came on at 7-8.From 7 until 10:30 a dj played and multiple openers I wasn’t aware about, and it appeared that they were stalling for him. The conditions in the venue were really cramped and hot and multiple people passed out. While waiting for him to come in many people left and I considered leaving I sat in the lobby it was too hot and there. Then he finally came on and his set was very short.

    What a wait

    by Aliya on 8/12/23

I was so excited to see the concert. The opener came and he was great. Then another came out. Then another. After 6 openers and 3 hours of waiting for him to show, when he finally did come out, it was boring. The crowd was already tired by then. We all wanted to go home after standing for 3 hours. A lot of people left early. Not worth it.

    Not worth it

    by Doe on 8/12/23

Look it was supposed to start at 8 and I can totally understand having like an hour of openers but after 2 and a half hours of random people and djs it's a bit to much and way to long. Just for him to be on stage for like half an hour. Wasn't worth it really.

The show was amazing. My daughter has had surgeries the last 2 summers in a row. This has been the first show she’s been able to go to in years! We all got to meet him & got pics after which made it even better! 🫶🏻🙌

We arrived at 9pm and were so excited to see Soulja Boy but after 3.5 hours he still had not arrived so we gave up. We were a group of 12 for a 30th birthday and were very disappointed to not get to see Soulja Boy perform.

    Not what I expected

by DeezyFBaby on 12/7/10Covelli Centre - Youngstown

I'm tired of goin to rap/hip hop shows at the Covelli Centre and the damn opening acts perform longer than the main event. Openeing acts started at like 730-745pm for the concert, and Soulja Boy performed from 1030 - 1115pm.... 45mins? really. I went to the Lil Wayne Concert before there and it was same thing. I'm glad i only paid $25 for tickets. you dont even get your moneys worth anymore. We are sposed to pay for the main act, not 2 hours of local rappers!
