Soulja Boy on Tour

When Soulja Boy Tell ‘Em released his 2007 debut single, “Crank That (Soulja Boy),” the 17-year-old rapper became an instant hit - and something of a viral pioneer. With its booming bass, slick snaps and steelpan loop, the song began blowing up flip phones (remember ringtones?) and its music video inspired millions to learn the Soulja Boy dance. But he’s proven to be far more than a flash-in-the-pan internet sensation. The Grammy-nominated artist still brings that infectious energy to the stage. In his early years, he learned from the best, touring alongside some of the biggest rappers in the biz, including Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy, Rick Ross and Drake. Even after a stint in jail and the transition back to being an independent artist - releasing material on his own record label, Stacks on Deck Entertainment (SODMG) - Soulja Boy continues to bring in the crowds with appearances at major hip-hop events including The Millennium Tour 2021.

About Soulja Boy

Soulja Boy Tell ‘Em has been magnetic from the start, creating one of the 21st century’s biggest rap hits and funnest dance fads at age 17. It’s not easy to eclipse such a massive debut hit at such a young age, but the Chicago-born rapper has gone on to show he has far more snappy moves up his sleeve. Born DeAndre Cortez Way in 1990, the future star bounced from Chicago to Atlanta to Batesville, Mississippi, where he began making music and posting songs online. Within a few months of recording “Crank That” and releasing his first album, the aptly titled Unsigned & Still Major: Da Album Before Da Album, Way signed to Interscope Records and saw his self-produced song fly up to the top of the Billboard Hot 100. His major label debut, 2007’s Souljaboytellem.com, came out just over six months after “Crank That” first hit the web. Soulja Boy was nominated for Best Rap Song, but had plenty to live up to after that rapid rise to the top. He came through with a number of successful singles, including “Kiss Me Thru the Phone,” and “Pretty Boy Swag.” But he’s made just as much a name for himself as a producer, actor, fashion designer, video game console creator and prolific mixtape maker. He’s still a powerful force on social media, too, racking up well over a billion YouTube views.

  • YOOOUUUU Had to be there

by Magicc on 9/20/24Gramercy Theatre - New YorkRating: 4 out of 5

Hello, Middle school me is living! I had a great time at the Soulja boy concert. His energy was high the full performance and he started with banger and ended with bangers. Very good show and made me want to attend more in the future. The only downside of the performance was that it was literally 45mins, no exaggeration. I was expecting to be there for at least and hour but I then realized there was another artist performing at the same venue directly after he stopped performing so I'm assuming that had to do what the short performance time. A warning would've been nice but since the tix prices were customer friendly I guess we did get what we paid for. Overall great show, he's a legend . P.S. He didn't perform POW this show, so I was a little disappointed but I guess that's an excuse for me to go to another show

Soulja looked good and sounded better. No promoting new music propaganda. Just a smooth ride into the sounds you remember and love. Other reviews almost made me miss this fun night in NYC.

  • Soulja Boy

by Lils on 9/11/24Music Farm - CharlestonRating: 2 out of 5

The music farm arena was very small and there wasn’t a lot of room for the amount of people that went. The concert started at 9, but Soulja Boy didn’t come out until 11, which was frustrating. Besides all of that, he had a great performance.

  • Its was an okay show

by Mona on 9/28/23The Observatory - Santa AnaRating: 2 out of 5

by Queen Nee on 9/26/23Rating: 5 out of 5

I loved the fact he held a meet and greet. I loved how he kept coming off the stage to engage with his fans. I’m a huge fan of Soulja Boy so I knew i wasn’t going to miss this concert for nothing hopefully he’ll come back to S.c really soon .

  • Fun, but he barely came out.

by Juliana on 9/26/23The Regent Theater - Los AngelesRating: 4 out of 5

I did really enjoy Soulja Boy's performance, but I was disappointed when the doors opened at 8, and he didn't come out until 10, and he was only on for 30 minutes. It was a small venue which was nice, and I did enjoy the performance.

  • We’re definitely not in ‘07

by Frank M on 9/26/23The Regent Theater - Los AngelesRating: 3 out of 5

Doors opened at 8pm, he comes on at 10pm for about 30 minutes. I think if you’re going to make us wait for 2 hours, it should be more than a 30 minute set. Lacks stage presence and seemed lazy. Although he was nice to grab everyone’s phone who handed it to him and take little videos of himself as he performed. During the meet he seemed pretty cool too.

  • Soulja boy event

by ED619 on 9/26/23The Regent Theater - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

The venue the regent was a good size . I liked how the floor goes down on a slant then goes even at the bottom gives a better view where ever you stand (the regent ) Soulja boy event was also better than I thought

  • Soulja Boy

by Kellus on 9/12/23The Senate - ColumbiaRating: 2 out of 5

When Soulja Boy finally came out (almost three hours later) his part was good. He performed for like 30-45 mins. What i did not understand is that from 9:15-12a there were like 8 start ups rappers that came out, and they were not good at all

  • Soulja

    by Steph b on 9/12/23The Underground - CharlotteRating: 5 out of 5

The venue was a great temperature which is important to me bc with all the ppl in there and being packed it can get awful. The staff was nice. The bathroom placement was odd, as it was kind of behind the stage.

  • I had the best time seeing soulja boy in Columbia I got clo

BEAUTIFUL VENUE GREAT SHOW LOVED THE OLDER HITS.Soulja Boy Gave Good Energy even with small intimate crowd setting

  • Good performer

by Dcakes on 8/16/23Rating: 4 out of 5

Soulja Boy is a good performer and artist. The DJ and openers are a different story and lost the crowd's attention. Security needs a lot of improvement as well.
