SONU NIGAM IN CONCERT:
As one of India's most revered playback singers, Sonu Nigam is responsible for the pitch-perfect vocals lip synced by numerous Bollywood superstars over the years. His talents aren't just confined to behind-the-scenes roles, however -- an electrifying dancer and performer, Nigam has also had an eminent career as a solo artist, boasting more than two decades of beloved recordings. Hot off the heels of a successful 2013 collaboration with superproducer David Guetta, Nigam is set to dazzle on his 2014 tour dates.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Indian-born Sonu Nigam began performing at parties and weddings with his father at age three. At age 19, the two moved to Mumbai to launch the young Nigam's Bollywood career, which began with roles as a playback singer and a commercial voice actor. In 1995, Nigam became the host of Sa Re Ga Ma, a popular televised singing competition akin to American Idol. His breakout as a solo artist came just a few years later with the 1999 release of Deewana, a collection of romantic songs that remains one of India's top-selling albums. Over his decade-spanning career, Nigam has released more than 25 albums while continuing to tour to adoring fans around the world.

Concert was amazing! 6th time im seeing him, never disappoints!! Started right on time.
The whole show was superbly put together. Started on time and had a well-placed break. Overall it was an amazing show - just what I expected from a great Indian artist after having been to shows by several American and other international stars. Special mention for a perfect use of generative AI!
Dedicated singer....no frills Sang almost all songs himself. Punctuality 5 stars.
LOVED Sonu Nigam’s performance. He was truly mind blowing!! He started the show right on time at 8 pm and gave all his fans the best experience. We look forward to seeing him in Chicagoland every year!!
I was an early comer at the concert, and was glad it started on time. I requested to be seated with my friend whose ticket I got last minute, but somehow that didn’t work out, no response was received to my texts regarding the seating request. The initial comedy mixed with background ads was a distraction. The dance performance that followed set the tone, but also seemed haphazard. The floor sections were not clearly marked and the front section was arbitrarily blocked to those who wanted to dance in aisle. We were asked three different times for both the tickets. Finally, my view was largely blocked by a couple of rotating guards, sitting at the corner, one of whom was rude to me. All that said, we truly enjoyed the experience of singing and dancing along – something I have cherished in his previous concerts. I just wish the party started sooner and we were not restricted from going forward. Eventhough this was a concert replete with nostalgia, some of his popular new numbers mixed with a touch of AI brought us to the current musical era, largely dominated by Nigam Ji who appeals to the common people and makes something stir in all of us. Smooth transitions once he was on stage. The words that flow in your songs bring immense meaning to the poetry within.
Sonu is so talented one man show 3 hours holding people is a talent.
Well organized and had a fabulous time. Sonu is the energizer bunny. He took a 15 min break but other than that he was constantly singing. 3 hour show
What an evening! Time well spent. Incredible. Left there so emotional and with a heart full of joy and sadness at same time. Sonu, can't wait to see you again. Please stay well.... keep spreading your love for music and Rafi Sahab. You are incredible not with just your talent but also with your heart. May god bless you with long and healthy and happy life so you can continue what you do best. LOVE :)

What an incredible energetic show in atlantic city yesterday. Ive alwahs loved sonu nigam singing and watching him ay show was perfect. So much energy amd he sang for 3 hours with only a 20 min break. Incredible.
We attended Sonu Nigam's concert on 11/21/25 at Hard Rock Cafe, NJ. Finally got to see some live action from a guy whom we have been following since 1995. He aged gracefully, still has a mesmerizing voice and good to see the dance moves at the age of 52. It was a team of 30+ orchestra musicians, the venue was great, and we got very good seats. Everything was set for a perfect concert but .. he sang 85% Mohammad Rafi's Songs, 4% Sonu's dad's performance, 1% Rafi's son's and 10% Sonu's song. He has 6K songs and we got to hear only handful of them. The concert was more of a Tribute to Rafi which we didn't expect (no where printed). So we feel it was not worth the effort (5 hours round trip from NYC) and the artist/organizers could be more honest in communicating. Our experience was like opening a Frito lay's bag, lot of air and less chips :).
With Sonu's brilliant performance and down-to-earth humbleness to edify everyone around, experience of AI empowered last song with Mohammad Rafi Ji was like icing on the cake. All the best to Sonu and the team for their future successes.
Enjoyed the concert. Well organized . The venue us well managed
The concert was absolutely outstanding from start to finish. The energy in the venue was electric, and Sonu Nigam delivered a performance that exceeded every expectation. He instantly connected with the audience with his humor, especially when he joked, “Forgive me for starting the concert on time.” That lighthearted moment set the tone for the evening and made the experience feel personal and unforgettable. I truly appreciated his professionalism, and I hope future audiences will also arrive on time out of respect for his dedication and respect for ours. Overall, it was an exceptional show filled with talent, emotion, and pure musical brilliance. His heartfelt tribute to the legendary Mohammad Rafi Sahib was especially moving. This is a concert I’ll be talking about for a long time, and I look forward to attending many more Sonu Nigam performances in the future
The event was falsely advertised. He only sang few Sonu Nigam show and spent most time singing Rafi song. None of the ads mentioned it was tribute to Mohd Rafi. I paid to listen to Sonu Nigam, not Mohd Rafi
It was a lovely evening with great music, a phenomenal orchestra. Sonu Nigam’s repertoire brought in a sense of nostalgia with his older songs and then fired up the crowd with his peppier numbers. The tribute to Mohammed Rafi was among the highlights of the evening. Three hours well spent immersed in Bollywood music.
Went to listen to Sonu Nigam but he wouldn’t sing for 30 seconds then point the mic to audience. Wasted $75, didn’t go to listen to audience chorus singing. Worst concert. It’s like your radio playing ads every 30 seconds in between songs.
Sonu Nigam was amazing and we left the concert quite satisfied. However there are a few things that should improve: 1. Concert started 45 mins late. This might be acceptable for concerts in India but is not a norm in US even for Indian artists. 2. Sonu's first 3 songs were amongst his least popular ones. Almost all of his songs after that were well known, but the start could have been better. 3. The above feels worse considering he didn't sing some of his very famous songs - Tu, songs of salaam e ishq, and many more. 4. He stretched some songs too much. I love Bijuriya, but he made it so long that I wanted him to just stop. All of this doesn't take away anything from Sonu Nigam - he will always be a legend. But improving on these would make for a better concert experience.
Great show, great atmosphere. Only downside was the constant flickering/flashing lights (strobe lights) which are not good for someone sensitive to very bright light settings which gave me a headache by the end of the show.
While it felt like a dream to watch the legendary Sonu Nigam sing live up close, the first half quickly became disappointing primarily because of the out of sync medleys, the unnecessary banter among sonu and the other artists and the “yassification” of evergreen songs. The magic of Sonu Nigam is in the melody of his voice, the softness in his songs and the unmatched tunes/beats of his music. These are the elements that have garnered him a huge fan following over decades and these originals are what the audience came for. Sadly, Sony did not stick to the original tune, pitch and lyrics of many of his iconic songs. Instead, fans got a highly vocalized version of his songs, with unnecessarily LOUD bass and EDM beats every now and then. The second half was much better and we got to hear a few originals. Audience interaction was close to zero and sometimes awkward and embarrassing, cringe even. Overall it was an underwhelming show. Would not recommend it to long-time fans! People who like grooving to mindless loud EDM music might enjoy this more.
