About

SONU NIGAM IN CONCERT:

As one of India's most revered playback singers, Sonu Nigam is responsible for the pitch-perfect vocals lip synced by numerous Bollywood superstars over the years. His talents aren't just confined to behind-the-scenes roles, however -- an electrifying dancer and performer, Nigam has also had an eminent career as a solo artist, boasting more than two decades of beloved recordings. Hot off the heels of a successful 2013 collaboration with superproducer David Guetta, Nigam is set to dazzle on his 2014 tour dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Indian-born Sonu Nigam began performing at parties and weddings with his father at age three. At age 19, the two moved to Mumbai to launch the young Nigam's Bollywood career, which began with roles as a playback singer and a commercial voice actor. In 1995, Nigam became the host of Sa Re Ga Ma, a popular televised singing competition akin to American Idol. His breakout as a solo artist came just a few years later with the 1999 release of Deewana, a collection of romantic songs that remains one of India's top-selling albums. Over his decade-spanning career, Nigam has released more than 25 albums while continuing to tour to adoring fans around the world.

Sonu rocked, ATL Civic Center sucked!

by SonukifanShreya on 6/10/12Atlanta Civic Center - Atlanta

The show was awesome but the Civic Center staff was definitely not on their game. It took 20 minutes for someone to help get our seats since it was SO hard to navigate to it. People could be seen pulling up the flashlight on their phone, trying to read the seat and aisle numbers, arguing about getting each other out of the seats and things just being very chaotic. The bartenders were facing the brunt of the audience since they were being mistaken for Civic Center staff; feel so bad for them. The show had started but half the audience was outside and noisy. People inside were being so "down-market" but there was no security putting them in check. They were talking so loud we couldn't even hear Sonu. Awful Awful Awful! Hope Sonu Nigam comes back but please select another venue!!

The whole things was too noisy and big time loud

by uvad on 6/22/11ASU Gammage - Tempe

Even though Sonu Nigam is a very talented musician, this show didn't show any of his talents in any form. The program would have been 100 times better if he would have just sang those songs with out any background music. I don't know what the sound engineer is thinking. It was too loud and unbearable, especially with the drums. Every time the drums starts it was like sitting under an F16. The whole program turned out to be some thing like a bar music. I didn't go to his program to listen to bar music. I could have gone to a local bar in Phoenix to hear that. Ridiculous program!!!!..I know that he can do 1000 times better than this.

Sonu Nigam tried to be too much of a rockstar and not a good bodied singer as he is. Headache event, no music and no singing

    sang for only 1:30hours

by Nik2011 on 6/21/11Event Center at San Jose State University - San Jose

Started more than hour late Started with 2 local performers – they took away 30 minutes away from the concert In the beginning sound was too loud, it was later adjusted after many request by Sonu Nigam during his performance Floor seating are horrible, they do not take into account hampered viewing- level is not optimal with reference to stage height Sonu should stick to his original and famous songs instead of changing his famous songs tunes and rythms. I would go see Ghulam Ali when I am in the mood to listed to that type of music, I was there to hear you sing your songs in original Overall, okay as he is very talented singer and performer but disappointing at times.

Sonu Nigam Concert at SJSU Event Center

by santhanamk on 6/21/11Event Center at San Jose State University - San Jose

Sonu Nigam was unbelievable! He is one of the best musicians in the world. I am a little disappointed because he only sang for 1.5 hours. I was expecting him to sing for 2.5-3 hours.
