About

SOMMORE ON TOUR:

Ever since her debut in the early '90s, comedy queen Sommore has had audiences falling out of their seats with her witty skits on the female perspective. Dubbed "a force to be reckoned with in the new millennium” by Oprah Winfrey, Sommore delivers her often-controversial jokes in a lighthearted manner and is never afraid to push the boundaries with her animated shows. Oozing with sass and style, her skits are as funny as ever as she hosts the 2014 Standing Ovation Tour, where she'll perform alongside a number of highly acclaimed comedians.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Atlanta-based comedian Sommore has been performing stand-up comedy for over 20 years, earning her first recognition in 1994 as host of BET's "Comic View." Since then, she's exploded onto the scene with a number of hit comedy performances, including the Guinness World Record-breaking "Queens of Comedy" tour alongside Laura Hayes, Mo'Nique, and Adele Givens. Not only has Sommore had a widely successful career as a female comedian, but she's also appeared on numerous talk shows and acted in many films and television series, proving she's an entertainer at heart. Back on the road for a string of highly anticipated shows, Sommore will have fans rolling on the floor with her latest stand-up routine.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"I had a great time... This was comedy at its best! Not a dull moment..."

"She was hilarious. We laughed so hard 'til our stomachs hurt. Sommore was the best host ever!"

"Sommore was the star and funny as hell! It was a real treat, the queen reigned!!"

    Great

Sommore is looking good and still off the chain! She is truly getting better with age. J anthony brown was sick so we had david williams and he is hilarious. Turae was the host and he was good. I'm not a big fan of DC but he was funny and again, sommore was hilarious! Worth the money.

by SSC717 on 2/20/10Hippodrome at France-Merrick Performing Arts Center - Baltimore

If you haven't seen the show, it's a MUST see. I almost fell out of my sit, because I was laughing so hard. Damon Williams stood in for J. Anthony Brown and tried to steal the show. Turac, whom I had not heard of was an excellent host. Oh, he was funny!!! The show is a 10 out of 10. Money well spent.

I enjoyed all the acts and appreciated that it started on time. The show was awesome and its rare to enjoy each of the opening acts. J Anthony Brown was sick but his replacement did an excellent jobs, the MC, Don Currie and of course Sonmore were VERY FUNNY!! non stop laughing.

We had a ball! Each and every comedian was hilarious and the host should be part of the show. I had never heard of him or Damon but now I am googling them to see where the next show is because we wanna see it again.

by cheesetoast on 2/19/10Arie Crown Theater - Chicago

This was an awesome show. The comedians were great. Everyone was on time and the jokes were very, very funny. I only wished it could have been a little longer. I look forward to seeing her come back to Chicago soon. D.L. Hughley was also better then I had expected . All the performers were good.

    parking situation

by BlackCherri on 2/18/10Arie Crown Theater - Chicago

Sommore was off the chain...love her lke CrAzY!!! The parking, on the other hand, was rediculous. I think because there were two shows back to back parking was delayed for the second show while the lot emptied from the first show. Maybe there should be more time between shows.

Everyone was great. It is amazing how each comedian reinvent the wheel of laughter. I laughed so hard that my face was still aching several days after the performance.

I could have passed on this one!!!!!

by Shanele on 2/16/10Arie Crown Theater - Chicago

I was very disappointed with the show. I was so excited to be in the orchestra pit but it wasnt worth the money. The Show was very unorganized. The comics were back and forth on the stage. Dc Curry walked of the Stage and no one came on. Where was the MC. Even George Wilborn commented (on stage) how Ghetto the show was. Traffic was terrible because of the Auto Show and the 11pm Show. We were late to the show (we left in enough time to be on time) because of the traffic from the show and the auto Show. While we were leaving the show at 10pm the 11pm people were coming to the show which took us 40-45 minutes to get out of the parking lot. Mccormick place should have thought about this when they planned this event and then combined it with an 11pm show and the Auto Show. The comics were sub-par except for Sommore. She was great.

    cheated

by Aloe1 on 2/16/10Arie Crown Theater - Chicago

I was very dissappointed with the show because it was cut very short in order to accommodate the time for the 2nd show that was added. I felt cheated in such a way that the comics just want to get my money and leave. I have been to shows that didn't have star headliners and they were very good and gave the audience their money's worth. Cedric the Entertainer was very good and didn't cut the show short. Cedric also had up and coming comedians who he showcased. This "Royal Comedy Tour" didn't showcase any up and coming comedians, which shows that they don't support new talent and just want to keep all the money to themselves. I will never attend another show headlining Sommore.

    worse show....

by tilly34 on 2/16/10Arie Crown Theater - Chicago

The acts that were to appear were DC Curry, D.L. Hughley, Toure (sp?), and Sommore. D.L , DC Curry, and the other guy were only on stage for about 15 - 20 min each. I was SO disappointed! The show was mostly Sommore whose act pales in comparison to the others. We ended up leaving when she first walked on stage.

    i was shocked

by Monalisaboss on 2/16/10Times Union Ctr Perf Arts Moran Theater - Jacksonville

We had a great time but I must say that I was pleasantly surprised that BRUCE BRUCE was the best act. I thought DC was in pain most of the time and maybe he was. He stayed bent over and we joked that maybe hes too old to be out doing the second show:) The host Turae was GREAT we want to see him again. Sommore wasnt as good as we expected but she did alright we got a few chuckles in with her.. Overall the experience was a four star wouldve been five if the first and final act werent so sub par.

Why yall cut a sista short like dat!

by JnTD on 2/16/10Times Union Ctr Perf Arts Moran Theater - Jacksonville

there is no doubt about the comics they were more than great but they were on stage no more than 15 or 20 minutes thats the time given to the little intro comics or what ever you call them....I understand there were two shows in one night (but why) next time please dont waste our money as such I love comedy and I make a sacrifice to attend the shows live I dont want to feel short changed.

    Oh No

by 2high2climb on 2/15/10Arie Crown Theater - Chicago

They should have had a video monitor setup for those that had to sit up on the roof / rafters. Facial expressions mean a lot as well the jokes. More music would have been nice.
