About the So Northwest Women's Show
An expo focused on women and women's lifestyles, the So Northwest Women's Show features two stages and hundreds of exhibits for a weekend of fun, freebies, fashion and feasting.
As of its 31st year, the So Northwest Women's Show is a part of KOMO ABC 4 TV and KOMO 97.7 FM, and many of the KOMO radio and TV anchors will be on-site as hosts. Other celebrity guests from TV, radio and the arts will appear at the expo to meet-and-greet, and some give talks, lead classes or teach seminars on their areas of expertise. Different celebrities come on Saturday than on Sunday, so check NWWomensShow.com for details.
The 2019 hosts include actor, author and television host Mario Lopez, Dancing with the Stars champion and choreographer Lindsay Arnold and HGTV and DIY Network home improvement maven and storyteller Matt Muenster. And this year the make-or-break business brains of reality TV show Shark Tank are hosting an open call to hear one-minute pitches in real time from innovative women who want to launch small businesses, new products and creative endeavors of all kinds. Show up Sunday morning between 9 and 11 for your chance to pitch.
Other favorite live events at the gathering include live music, DJs, and group dance lessons in line dancing and ballroom taught by professional dance instructors, as well as fashion shows from both boutique and national clothing designers, with couture displays put on by Macy's and other major garment industry retailers.
In addition to clothing booths where you can spot and shop for the latest trends, a number of makeup artists, hair stylists and perfumers will be on-site demonstrating products and giving makeovers and giving beauty tips. Other fun booths show off the latest trends in jewelry and accessories like hats and handbags. And wellness booths with herbs, soap, scents and candles will send you home with tips and products to relax and be healthy.
Good taste also extends to home decor and design, and those who find HGTV remodeling shows inspirational will be delighted to see the array of home makeover displays and exhibits from vendors showing off the latest in lighting, fixtures, and interior and exterior furnishings and finishing touches.
And of course part of the fun of the women's weekend is tasting the best of the Pacific Northwest from food and drink exhibitors, who show off their wares and offer cooking demonstrations, booze tastings, fresh food samples and show-only deals on favorites like locally made chocolate, wines and smoked meats.
Other major sponsors and exhibitors will have info (and free swag) for your workaday life in the Seattle and Tacoma areas, whether that's as a mom, grandma, student, entrepreneur or all of the above.
