About the So Northwest Women's Show

An expo focused on women and women's lifestyles, the So Northwest Women's Show features two stages and hundreds of exhibits for a weekend of fun, freebies, fashion and feasting.

As of its 31st year, the So Northwest Women's Show is a part of KOMO ABC 4 TV and KOMO 97.7 FM, and many of the KOMO radio and TV anchors will be on-site as hosts. Other celebrity guests from TV, radio and the arts will appear at the expo to meet-and-greet, and some give talks, lead classes or teach seminars on their areas of expertise. Different celebrities come on Saturday than on Sunday, so check NWWomensShow.com for details.

The 2019 hosts include actor, author and television host Mario Lopez, Dancing with the Stars champion and choreographer Lindsay Arnold and HGTV and DIY Network home improvement maven and storyteller Matt Muenster. And this year the make-or-break business brains of reality TV show Shark Tank are hosting an open call to hear one-minute pitches in real time from innovative women who want to launch small businesses, new products and creative endeavors of all kinds. Show up Sunday morning between 9 and 11 for your chance to pitch.

Other favorite live events at the gathering include live music, DJs, and group dance lessons in line dancing and ballroom taught by professional dance instructors, as well as fashion shows from both boutique and national clothing designers, with couture displays put on by Macy's and other major garment industry retailers.

In addition to clothing booths where you can spot and shop for the latest trends, a number of makeup artists, hair stylists and perfumers will be on-site demonstrating products and giving makeovers and giving beauty tips. Other fun booths show off the latest trends in jewelry and accessories like hats and handbags. And wellness booths with herbs, soap, scents and candles will send you home with tips and products to relax and be healthy.

Good taste also extends to home decor and design, and those who find HGTV remodeling shows inspirational will be delighted to see the array of home makeover displays and exhibits from vendors showing off the latest in lighting, fixtures, and interior and exterior furnishings and finishing touches.

And of course part of the fun of the women's weekend is tasting the best of the Pacific Northwest from food and drink exhibitors, who show off their wares and offer cooking demonstrations, booze tastings, fresh food samples and show-only deals on favorites like locally made chocolate, wines and smoked meats.

Other major sponsors and exhibitors will have info (and free swag) for your workaday life in the Seattle and Tacoma areas, whether that's as a mom, grandma, student, entrepreneur or all of the above.

    Fun show

by Ahrbea on 3/5/20Tacoma Dome - Tacoma

We always have fun going to the Women's Show, but this year there were many differences. First of all, the ticket prices are very high since moving to the Tacoma Dome. We were pleased with the parking being free, though. We arrived about 11:00 on Saturday and were concerned with all the people leaving the show already, but we found that it only took a couple of hours to get through, when previously when the show was closer to the ferry at the event center between the stadiums, there was much more to see and do. It took 4-5 hours to get through it previously. It was disappointing not to have as many vendors giving samples of foods and not as many samples in general. We used to come home with huge bags of goodies. We did notice that many of the big vendors are no longer participating and wondered why. Not sure we will attend next year since this was somewhat disappointing.

Great event! Need more seating areas!!

by Trish on 3/4/20Tacoma Dome - Tacoma

Great event. More vendors would be fantastic. Noticed vendors from the past two years were not there this year. Did you raise the cost for vendors? Need more vendors/businesses that are women owned. Plus you need areas for those attending the event. It would be nice to be able to sit, go through our goodies, rest a little before walking around again!

    Awesome

by Nicole on 3/4/20Tacoma Dome - Tacoma

I also enjoy going to the womens show. They always have plenty of vendors with samples and prizes and the talking seminars are great as well.

For the most part it was a fun day. Enjoyed talking with lots of people and learning about new products. One thing would be nice is more places to sit and rest.

    Fun and Great Vendors

by Donna on 3/4/20Tacoma Dome - Tacoma

Really great girl bonding experience! Great vendors and give always. VIP experience could have been a little better. A few years ago in Seattle, the firefighters put on a little show and did some interactive activities with VIPs. This was just a meet and greet. I have to say that the firefighters were great and friendly. Good to see some lady firefighter representation! Additionally none of the information booths really knew much about the VIP event. Could not give any information on where it was, where to meet. No info in their reference book. It felt a little less than VIP experience and more like a scavenger hunt.

    Fun afternoon

by Blu J on 3/4/20Tacoma Dome - Tacoma

I attended to support my friends that had booths, and I spent money to support other small businesses as well. The main reason I attended was to meet Chef Shaun O’Neal. I learned how to make garlic mushroom risotto. Too bad the fireman Show was the same time, more people would’ve benefited from learning how to cook as well.

    Dullsville

by Lorack on 3/4/20Tacoma Dome - Tacoma

We were in and out within an hour. There was not a huge variety of exhibitors and free samples were lacking.

    Don’t bother

by Diana on 3/4/20Tacoma Dome - Tacoma

I have been to the women’s show in the past. Each year it is getting smaller. It was very disappointing. Not as much variety. I won’t go in the future. It is a shame because it used to be so much fun.

Smaller than I thought but overall good. Liked the variety of vendors and the different classes. Free parking was a bonus.

    NW Womens show no greatest

    by Danegirl69 on 2/25/18Tacoma Dome - Tacoma

I have been going to the NW Womens show for over 10 years with my daughter. When we first started going we would come home with a bag full of samples. Also the show had 2 rows of just food to sample. Best thing about going to the show was filling your bags. Each year we hope it will go back to the way it used to be. I realize hoping for free things might seem greedy but it gives me a chance to try new things that I after start buying. Very optimistic to have in a new home and 30 year anniversary BUT it was smaller and least amount of samples ever. Need to just give up on the show.
