    she loved it but...

    by momof5yearoldgirl on 5/31/10Wilbur Theatre - Boston

Let me start by saying that my 5.5 year old daughter loved it -- she would be heartbroken to know that I didn't feel the same way. There was a lot to like about it -- it was pretty true to the Disney version of the story, and there was a lot of action to keep them entertained. That said, I thought that the performances were not great (singing pretty good, dancing less so), there were multiple problems with the mikes (feedback a few times and not working a few more), and most of Snow White's songs had to do with the prince and not so much with being chased by her stepmother. I also felt the pacing was very awkward; at intermission she hadn't met the dwarves yet, and all of the denoument happened at once -- the stepmother's killed off stage, and when the dwarves return they begin to mourn for 5 seconds when the prince comes in and kisses her and they leave and it's done. My daughter's only complaint was that Snow White never tells the dwarves she's being chased -- she sings a song about the prince, but that's pretty much it. So while I don't regret taking my daughter -- like I said, she thought it was grand -- I was not so impressed, and if she was a few years older she probably wouldn't have been either.

    Inexpensive Entertainment

by circusgoermom on 5/31/10Wilbur Theatre - Boston

At under twenty per ticket, I was excited to get tickets for my 2.5 y/o, 5.5y/o and myself. My girls loved the show. At the price point, I was concerned it would lack quality cast members. I was dead wrong. Furthermore, I learned at the show that the production company is a non-profit group that works with children. What a bonus to spend money to support a worthy cause. And it was a nice afternoon treat for a mom and her two girls.

fantastic show......great cast of actors. Everybody was very close to the performance.....that allows for the children to be involved even more. I'm looking forward to other shows.

    Snow White

by Rohe on 5/31/10Wilbur Theatre - Boston

I went with two girls one 4 and the other was 8. The 4 year old got frightened by the queen's booming voice. But after hearing it a couple of times she settled in and loved the play. When it came to the end both of the girls were sad it was all over and they want to see it again. I think it was great experience to introduce children to the theatre. My eight year old just came and asked what I was doing. I told her I was writing a review and she said I should write it was "the awsomest show ever". I asked "even better than "The Lion King". Her response was "YES". There you have the reveiw from an 8 year old.

Snow White a hit with 4 year old

by lisasmom on 8/1/09South Shore Music Circus - Cohasset

I brought my four year old daughter (dressed in her Snow White costumer complete with shoes and headband) to the play. She absolutely loved it. She sat still for the entire show. It kept her attention and she talked about it all the way home.

    Great Show

by tjslp on 8/1/09Cape Cod Melody Tent - Hyannis

This was a great first play for my 4 year old children to see. The venue was very child friendly, the cast was excellent, the story adaptation was wonderful (including special needs topic). I would definitely look for this theater group again!

Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs, a comedy?

by Macca on 7/31/09South Shore Music Circus - Cohasset

First of all we love the venue, it is absolutely a wonderful place to see anyking of event. The actors were all very good and very into their rolls and characters. The slapstick was a great touch to get the kids chuckling!! Very nice constumes, kudos to the designer and maker!! The sound was good, the dwarfs were a little tough to hear and they seemed to give the engineer a bit of trouble but that's what you get for putting mics on people with fake beards. Tough job and they handled it well. A great day over all for the entire family.

South Shore Music Circus--Selling frm Stage

by lal2llb on 7/31/09South Shore Music Circus - Cohasset

The event was great for the kids. Really enjoyed it with my 3 year old great-niece. However, it was offensive when they got on stage to tell you what was being sold in the back--wands, coloring books, fans, etc. and showing them for all the kids to see. If people couldn't afford it, you've now gotten the kids all set on what they can "have" or "can't have" as opposed to enjoying a nice day together. I thought that was terrible. They also went on and on about the next show, which is okay, except we were hiding that because my great niece is going away and Cinderella is her favorite. They said it about 7 times. Once is one thing, over and over, is too much.

Kaleidoscope productions are always very good.

by Bubbe on 7/31/09South Shore Music Circus - Cohasset

My 3 year old granddaughter and I really enjoyed the whole show. The wicked queen was especially great! The only negatives were that the 7 dwarfs didn't sing, "Heigh Ho" and the dwarfs' speaking voices were hard to understand. Other than that, another very enjoyable live theater children's production.

    The Kids enjoyed it

by Capemom on 7/30/09Cape Cod Melody Tent - Hyannis

I took my daughter, she really enjoyed the show. We had good seats close to the stage. She liked the singing. Despite the minimal scenery (because it was a theater in the round format), she was able to follow the story. The actors did a good job, good singing voices. The kids who played the dwarves were very cute and did great. Good value for the price of the tickets.

    Eh

by mum2three on 7/30/09Cape Cod Melody Tent - Hyannis

I felt the play was too short honestly. The kids who played the dwarves were adorable. The wicked queen was fantastic. My girls loved Snow White. Like I said, I felt it was too short. After the intermission I think the rest of the play was about 10 minutes. Not that I'm complaining too much. It was hot as hell in that tent.

    snow white excellent production!

by whitetigerpaws on 7/30/09Cape Cod Melody Tent - Hyannis

Very entertaining and acted out well. The stage crew was amazingly fast changing the stage props, especially with the unbearable heat! Fans would would have been my only recommendation for future productions. The tent wasn't even half full and it was horrifically hot. I could only imagine if it was a full tent!! Besides that it was a wonderful day event for the kids and the adults!!
