About

A viral breakout of the internet and social-media age, Slayyyter has won millions of fans who gravitate toward her party-ready art-pop bangers that draw inspiration from Charli XCX, Paris Hilton, Lady Gaga, and more.

Born Catherine Grace Garner in 1996, Slayyyter is originally from St. Louis, Missouri, but has since relocated to Los Angeles. She started songwriting in college at the University of Missouri, where she crafted '80s-inspired bedroom pop. She produced the songs herself but never published them. She eventually dropped out of school to pursue a music career, teaming up occasionally with collaborator Ayesha Erotica, whom she met on Twitter.

Together, Slayyyter and Ayesha Erotica collaborated on singles like Slayyyter's debut, "BFF," "Ghost," "Candy," "Alone," the Boy Sim-produced "Hello Kitty," and "All I Want for XXXmas." In 2018, Slayyyter also released the GhostHaus-produced "I'm High" and the Boy Sim-produced "Platform Shoes."

Things really took off for Slayyyter in 2019 when a 14-second snippet of "Mine" was posted on Twitter. In under 24 hours, "Mine" reached 38 on the iTunes pop chart in the U.S. Later in 2019, Slayyyter embarked on The Mini Tour. The following fall, she released her self-titled mixtape, which peaked at No. 4 on the U.S. iTunes Pop Chart and No. 14 on the U.S. iTunes Albums Chart.

In 2020, Slayyyter uploaded a cover of Britney Spears' "Gimme More" to SoundCloud. Later that year, she released two more singles, "Self Destruct" and "Throatzillaaa."

In 2021, Slayyyter released her debut album, Troubled Paradise. Around that time, reality star Heidi Montag confirmed she would be collaborating on future music with Slayyyter. In February of that year, Slayyyter also released "Clouds," which was followed by "Cowboys," "Over This!," "Dog House," and "Stupid Boy" featuring Big Freedia.

Describing why she finds songwriting to be therapeutic, Slayyyter told Paper Magazine in November 2021: "When you're really feeling strongly about something or someone or something that's happened to you, it's the best way to get it out. The best therapy for it is to write a song about it. I hate the idea of certain songwriting topics being off limits... that is so stupid. Everything about songwriting and what makes music so powerful is that it's your real experiences that maybe someone else might connect to."

Slayyyter has come a long way!!

by Kaylee and pebbles on 10/31/239:30 CLUB - WASHINGTON

What an amazing crowd, first off miss Madeline was a pleasant surprise much better live than I expected. And we saw Slayyyter back in February opening for Tove lo and she was decent a little rough around the edges but the energy was there,But flash forward to Friday and what a complete performance! She really impressed us,overall a really great night the only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was NO THROATZILLA!!!?? But otherwise an amazing time !!!!

    Fun time

by Phil on 10/31/23Theatre of Living Arts - Philadelphia

Slayyyter just keeps on evolving when it comes to her music but also her performance. She has mastered crowd pleasing pop that is still unique and has perspective. This is my third time seeing her live and each time she just gets better when it comes to the live vocals, dancing, staging, etc. It is just a fun time dancing and getting lost in her music with other fans.

    An ascending shining star!

by Neonflair on 10/31/23Theatre of Living Arts - Philadelphia

Slayyyter is a true entertainer! Great vocalist and stage presence! The production on her tracks is always ahead of the game for an independent artist and she’s very well studied on her own aesthetic, visual and artistic references. This new album is very cinematic and she delivers the whole package in this tour. It was fun, sexy, funny and you leave the venue sure that you’d see her again. I would originally leave a 4 star review because the venue wasn’t the best but also not the worst. It was just clearly crowded but of course the lady sold out the house. She deserves 5 Stars! Definitely would go again!

Club Paradise was out of this world!

by Michaela on 5/18/22Marquis Theater - Denver

Slayyyter put on a great show. Her self-designed sets and costumes really popped with the ever-changing colored lights. It was LOUD but it worked in the concertgoers favor - you heard the music and the performer even over excited fans singing along! She played fan favorites and performed an encore. A few cons: the venue was on the smaller side. Additionally, it was really hard to see! Slayyyter is on the petite side and so am I. Overall, extremely enjoyable and the downsides are by no means dealbreakers.

Slayyyter Club Paradise Tour(meet and greet)

by Jasmineayeshaa on 5/17/22Marquis Theater - Denver

I did the meet and greet tickets with my mom and it was amazing. It was a hour long wait in the line but it was worth it. Everybody who did the meet and greet gets a bag and a m&g pass… then when we entered the theater there was a line to meet her… it was finally my turn and omg she is the sweetest person ever… she was very kind and sweet. She complimented my outfit and I had a good time with her. After that she did a q&a and she signed my phone case… overall loved her performance 🎭!!!

    Started too late.

    by chaad42 on 5/17/22Marquis Theater - Denver

To be honest all the fun was sucked out of me by the time she came on. Doors at 8pm, first opener at 9pm, the next at 9:45, then she didn’t come on until 10:40pm. It didn’t end until 11:45pm. Most shows are already done by that time. Transit in the city of Denver sucks so I had to overpay for an Uber home because of surging. I would’ve gave it 5 stars and had a better time if it started like any other concert.
