About

Originating in Huntington Park, CA in 1981 as a cover band in the head-banging scene, Slayer has become one of the most important metal bands in rock history, commonly referred to in the Big 4 alongside Anthrax, Megadeath and Metallica. Their first two albums, 1983’s Show No Mercy and 1985’s Hell Awaits, were released on Metal Blade Records, before they signed to Rick Rubin’s Def Jam label in 1986. There they released their third album Reign in Blood, which caught mainstream attention and has proved to be a genre-defining thrash metal album, influencing countless bands as well as the subgenres of death metal and black metal. Tom Araya’s shouted vocals and graphic lyrics are thought-provoking and articulate, while their tight musical structures combining hardcore rock’s rhythms and speed metal’s frenzied pace generate fast and aggressive songs, intensified through the use of double bass drumming, and unconventional but engaging guitar riffs. This all-out rock offensive has been wowing ticket holders for over three decades, selling out concerts across the globe. Over the years, Slayer has been nominated for five Grammy awards, most recently 2009’s World Painted Blood, and continues to tour while working on new material.

A great night with some great bands

by tlenon on 11/26/19CHI Health Center Omaha - Omaha

This was a solid show from a seasoned band I have seen several times over the last 25 years. A great stage show, tight set, and sound. The opening bands Phil Anselmo, Ministry, and Primus were also very good sets.

    Must see

by BG on 11/25/19CHI Health Center Omaha - Omaha

I can not say how much I enjoyed the show. 1st Slayer exp, 2nd Primus exp, and 5th Ministry exp. See them! The venue was good, wish they had a better selection of beverages.

I was glad to have the chance to see the final tour. The opening bands were good and Slayer gave it all up.

    Great concert

by ph1zh on 11/23/19CHI Health Center Omaha - Omaha

There were far too many open seats some of which shouldn't have been available due to poor viability to the show. Otherwise the bands performed as expected and didn't disappoint.

It’s slayer. Of course it’s five stars. If you don’t know that yet, then it’s too late for you.

Fantastic and epic performances by all

by K. on 11/22/19CHI Health Center Omaha - Omaha

There was an overwhelming sense of appreciation from Phil Anselmo and from the guys in Slayer towards the audience; really made me contemplate the length of their careers, and that this might actually be Slayer's last go-around. Slayer delivered 90 minutes of non-stop aural assault, and it was glorious! Primus has one of the tightest and clearest-sounding live sets I've ever seen, and it was fantastic. Ministry was Ministry. I guess some people liked 'em..... Phil and the Illegals solidly delivered some of Pantera's greatest hits and truly got the crowd warmed up. The only reason this wasn't 5 stars was because of the highway robbery every time I had to pay the venue's ridiculous prices for concessions.

    Great farewell show!

by A. L. on 11/22/19CHI Health Center Omaha - Omaha

All the bands were amazing! Primus was an unusual fit on the bill, but by far my favorite band of the night! The amount and complexity of pyrotechnics used by Slayer was world class! Never seen anything quite like it! 10/10 in my book.

    Fare thee well

by Vic-dude on 11/21/19CHI Health Center Omaha - Omaha

1 hour late start, opening acts cut sets shorter by 1 or 2 songs (based on previously viewed playlists). Audio was great for the openers. Wish i could have seen Ministry and Primus; stage lights down for the screen shows. Ministry did a great job of blinding the audience with huge white light bars. If you get migraines, here's your trigger... Slayer-not a disappointment. Wall of noise. The set list didn't disappoint. Really good light and pyro during the show. So sad it will all be over in a week.....

    Great show, late night

by RL on 11/21/19CHI Health Center Omaha - Omaha

All of the bands were amazing. Can't believe hiw much Slayer can still rock it. It was a finale to remember. 5 star perfomance. I docked a star since Phil Anselmo had a short set and they switched the start time from 6 to 7 on shorter notice so concert ended at midnight, which I came from Lincoln about an hour away so it was a late night.

Illegals were great. It went downhill after that. A large part of the crowd chanted "primus sucks". That was awkward. Slayer was ok
