About

Originating in Huntington Park, CA in 1981 as a cover band in the head-banging scene, Slayer has become one of the most important metal bands in rock history, commonly referred to in the Big 4 alongside Anthrax, Megadeath and Metallica. Their first two albums, 1983’s Show No Mercy and 1985’s Hell Awaits, were released on Metal Blade Records, before they signed to Rick Rubin’s Def Jam label in 1986. There they released their third album Reign in Blood, which caught mainstream attention and has proved to be a genre-defining thrash metal album, influencing countless bands as well as the subgenres of death metal and black metal. Tom Araya’s shouted vocals and graphic lyrics are thought-provoking and articulate, while their tight musical structures combining hardcore rock’s rhythms and speed metal’s frenzied pace generate fast and aggressive songs, intensified through the use of double bass drumming, and unconventional but engaging guitar riffs. This all-out rock offensive has been wowing ticket holders for over three decades, selling out concerts across the globe. Over the years, Slayer has been nominated for five Grammy awards, most recently 2009’s World Painted Blood, and continues to tour while working on new material.

    Sad and amazing

by Jaz on 12/4/19The Forum - Inglewood

Loved the Chase lounge. Loved that a nice security guy chased me down after i had asked for a setlist ... and he came across one. Show was amazing although sad. Not sure why there was floor seats except to make $$. Noone sits for SLAYER!

    Slayer the final campaign

by Mr. K on 12/3/19The Forum - Inglewood

Awesome show! Missed Anselmo, but caught the final 3 acts. First time seeing Ministry and they blew me away! Sounded great. Primus played a solid set. Always love seeing them. And Slayer finished strong! Glad I was able to make it. Great time overall!

    Great fun slightly unfair

by LokeyCP on 12/3/19CHI Health Center Omaha - Omaha

I had great ADA seats and the entire show in my mind was phenomenal but halfway through slayer’s set an employee tapped me on the shoulder to remind me that I can take pictures but recording the show was not allowed and he went down the row to the next lady also in a wheelchair and I assume said the same thing as all the while I’m watching the show and seeing all the phone’s even right below us seemingly recording the whole show. I feel we were unfairly chosen because we were stationary and close, the employee seemed on a power trip This was my first show out of thousands that this has happened

    Everyone was great except Ministry

by Trickster on 12/3/19The Forum - Inglewood

Thoroughly impressed with all the bands except Ministry, which sounded like a non-stop 808 drum trigger at 120 BPM. Plus their crowd-facing lights were pretty much blinding and all the "songs" washed together. I only knew the last song was Jesus Built My Hotrod cause Al told us. Primus was trippy and fun, Phil and the Illegals (basically a Pantera cover band) were incredible, and Slayer put on a hell of a show. A lot of their songs kinda blended together with a few standouts, and overall there wasn't much dramatic tension (not even an encore). However, being that is was their last show (we'll see), it was emotional. Overall they sounded amazing and the playing was jaw-dropping. The venue was kept WAY too cold. I mean come on, this is a band talking about Hell with flames shooting across the stage. Why did it feel like Hell froze over? I had to wear my jacket the whole time and not even that was enough!

    Epic Finale!

by Uprise on 12/3/19The Forum - Inglewood

I was excited to attend Slayer's final show ever and they didn't disappoint. The played a blistering 20-song set that started with a video countdown. The set started with a light show and the band opened with "South of Heaven" and they went right into "Repentless" after that. Eighteen songs later, the band ended their set and their career with "Angel of Death" and it was epic! Tom and the band remained onstage after the set to take family photos with the crowd and the crew and Tom gave a heartfelt goodbye to the fans. It was a truly special show, epic show.

    Last Slayer show...

by kellyvickis on 12/3/19The Forum - Inglewood

Amazing show! Was able to be right up front. The crowd was pumped but no violence... not in my area. Phil Anselmo and the Illegals were solid, Ministry- loud and perfect and Primus - ridiculously fun. Slayer rocked that whole venue - One of the best shows ever for me.

Somewhat of a confusing venue because of all of the road blocks inside the venue but very easy to go through security and nice staff

    worst view ever

    by s. on 12/2/19The Forum - Inglewood

I don't know why they would ever sell seats that you can't see the the whole stage. I had section 210 on side stage and all i could see was the speakers totally blocking the view of whole center stage.

    Slayer Final Campaign

by Aztec for Life on 12/2/19The Forum - Inglewood

The concert was amazing! Saw them Friday, November 29th, second to last show. Growing up with the Big Four in thrash, have never had the opportunity to see Slayer after all these years. WOW! So I glad I caught them before the end. The openers, Phil Anselmo, Ministry, and Primus, were a very interesting, but awesome mix of music, before the main course. Slayer definitely went deep into the early catalog, playing some of my favorites, such as Evil has No Boundaries and Die by the Sword off Show No Mercy. Compared to earlier setlists, they definitely mixed it up, and made this Slayer fan very happy! Of course, they ended with Reign in Blood and Angel of Death. The venue was nice with being able to seats very easy and accessible. Awesome show to say the least and glad I was there!
